The force behind a gaints club???

Recommended Posts

I'm sorry if I posted this in the wrong section. But one thing that has baffled me is what makes a giant's club have so much force when they send you or npcs flying. I've looked at the item itself in the creation kit, hoping to find an enchantment or something that makes the weapon have so much force behind it. I've come up with nothing, and its baffiling me.

Lol, does anyone know the mystery behind this? The reason I'm asking is one of my followers that I'm creating is supposed to be super strong, and I want her war hammer to have the same effect of sending people flying that the giant club has.

Thanks in advance!

(Yes, I know, the giant's club defies all laws of physics.)

Special effect -> Explosion ->  crGiantSlamExplosion and crGiantStompExplosion both have a force of 100.  crGiantSlamExplosionBIG has 3000 force but isn't actually used afaik.

Edit: 3rd word of unrelenting force shout has a force of 85 for reference.

Thank you so much for pointing this out for me. I've tracked down and found how the effect is generated. Now I'll be able to make my follower's war hammer send my foes flying into the sky! :) :) :)

I would really test that on internal cells. That force might just seriously mess things up if used inside. Giants are never inside in the game ( as far as I know) so their force can't really break anything as the NPC will just fly around. Inside that might be a very big problem.

Sounds like a cool NPC though if that isn't an issue or is fixed.

Oh I bleive that Giantslambig etc was the first Skyim before patches. I dont think is used now. Caused way too many problems.. ;)

I see your point, however, I'm going to create a whole new effect that has no blast radius, and just direct force. The only npcs that'll go flying will be the unfourtunate foe at the reciving end of her warhammer "sledge." Think of unrelenting force, only as a weapon enchantment affecting one npc at a time.

Though I'm not going to make super powerful. While Skyrim using the creation engine. I created a very forceful one handed pool que in fallout newvags which I call my "beatin' stick." The kill impulse was so powerful, that a mole rat I smacked flew through the world without any resistance whatr so ever. So I'm going to assume the same will happen in the creation engine.

Lol, fixed eh? I still go flying when I'm killed by a giant.

I would set it up so it doesn't do friendly damage to friendly NPC's as it could break quests if a quest giver that comes with you gets in the way of the war hammer or other followers getting in the way and the next thing you know you have a follower slug fest going on. Might be good to have other followers set to essential just so they don't get killed and maybe the NPC tracking mod so that you can find lost followers if they do get whacked by the war hammer. I have a nuke arrow mod the first time I tried it I turned on TGM then shot three at my feet first blast sent me flying/spinning through the air next blasts sent me flying farther. When I finally came back down I was half way across the skyrim map without ever touching the ground. I lost 5 followers that were either not essential or their asses just got lost. I then got the tracking mod so I couldn't lose them again and set any of them that were not essential to essential. Had fun launching everyone's asses all over the place.

There is also a mod that adds a set of gauntlets that with each punch hits the person you are fighting with a shock wave blast. I believe there is also a shout mod that has 2 spells one you can use the spell 1 time for so long and the 2nd one you can spam it and really launch them. That one was pretty cool you could spam the shout launch them till they were out of sight and when they came back down they had a smoke stream behind them like a meteorite entering earths atmosphere.

All followers I've created are set to essential. So that won't be a problem. As for npcs / followers possibly getting in the way of her hammer. That's totally possible. Thanks for the suggestion. However I think I'll be safe. I save (Almost literally) every 5 seconds, so if something goes wrong, I won't have to back track much. If there is a quest giver that's not essential, I'll just leave her behind, I've got plenty of other cool followers that have my back.

That's a pretty funny story you got there. I have one myself. I created a follower that was losely based on sonic the hedgehog. I set his speed mult to 1000, and I found out that this can create a very uniuqe bug when he's in interior cells. He'll run so fast that he'll fly through a wall, then he'll literally float around with his foot spinning around like a propeller (no joke, this actually happens.) I think its funny. I've only had this happen in one cell in particular: The riverwood trader.

Cool I think I have had some weird things like that before. I had a mod that added a pixie race which added hostile pixies in different areas of the game and one pixie that was locked up that you could find and release her and take her as a follower.

Well one of the hostile areas has a mob of pixies the grass is taller then these suckers which makes fighting them/sniping them with bow pretty hard to do. But once you clear out the area there is a chest that when opened gives the player the boots of computer crashing speed these things make superman seem slow. You could run from one end of the map to the other end in less then 3 minutes or less depending on then way you went and if you didn't have TGM on you would be dead even small humps became deadly.

Well I got the ideas to use the console command to get another pair of the boots which I then gave to Lydia to wear then made her taller then the trees using the console command. I then took off running while wearing my pair then stopped and turned around ready to watch the 100 foot Lydia speed to me. She took one step and skyrim was like F.U and closed.

Haha! That sounds pretty funny too! I think I've heard of the pixie race mod for Skyrim.

Typically when I mod my bethesda games. I like to increase my speed to where I can run really fast and get to place to place a lot quicker. A trick I did for Oblivion was I gave my character a spell that would set my character's speed to the fatest possible speed (255) for 60 seconds, and I used it to "Fast travel." Lol, I was running so fast that I'd fly off mountains and climb hills at break neck speeds. I would often have to save while running at these speeds, because Oblivion would crash due to loading so much stuff at once. I was litterally running from coast to cost. Similar to your boots from the pixie mod you have.

With Fallout 3 and New Vegas, I change the global varibles for FWE / PN spriting, so that its twice as fast, requires no ap, and is not affect by inventory weight. Skyrim is a lot simpler. I just use Modav Speedmult 200 to double my movement speed, you move way to dang slow in that game anyways. Addtionally, I changed a global in Skyrim where sprinting drains 0 stamina. So you and npcs can run forever.

Anohter thing I do for all bethesda games, is change globals so there is no falling damage. This is useful not only for my greatly increased speed, but the fact that I like to install super jump mods, and I love to make my games wacky and over the top (Saints Row The Thrid anyone?).

I use a mod called leveler's tower there is 2 versions of it they have pretty much everything you need showers beds plant area cook area alchemy and so forth and I just go to it and enter and go to the one button on the wall and press it and change my running speed to a faster speed.

Right now I'm playing with trying to see what oblivion bodies look like in skyrim. I found a skyrim body that is set up like the oblivion body and have been trying different bodies out some look alright others make you scream AHHH that's hideous.
