labrat Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 These are the ones that I have found in the first five minutes. I will add to the list as a find them and remove them or add solutions as they are solved or someone else comes up with a solution. Or someone points out that I'm an idiot and doing it wrong. 1) NPC window cannot be resized so preview of characters is impossible: Upping screen resolution cured it. 2) Opening options through pull down menu automatically selects the first item in the list and "changes" it, so be alert not to "change" (create new ids) unintentionally. 3) The Navmesh error on load that others have noted. from the creation kit wiki Note that some warnings will appear when loading Skyrim.esm. These are normal and can be ignored - just hit "Yes to All" or escape to dismiss them. BUT: watch the video on this thread http://www.loverslab.com/showthread.php?tid=5049 to see just how important the cock-up over NavMeshes is - and how long Bethesda have been aware of it.
labrat Posted February 8, 2012 Author Posted February 8, 2012 This isn't intended to be a personal thread. I think it might be a good idea if all the problems (and solutions) people find are copied into one thread that can act like a FAQ or is that a bad idea?
Eiries Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 The preview windows work fine for me, in both Head and Full versions. I don't think the navmesh prompt causes any problems that weren't already there, although I find something highly amusing about the fact that you can load up the game's master file and get a bunch of error prompts. Neat!
Kraxon Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 I myself get the stupid error messages, but I can change and save mods, as far as I have tested it. Other people said they weren't able to save their mods.
Surenas Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 bAllowMultipleMasterLoad works fine. Here error messages revolve around teleport markers too close to the linked door and duplicate string IDs in WiS IV's races_ENGLISH.STRINGS -> Skyrim Strings Localizer And NavmeshInfo 00028e37 has no parent space...
labrat Posted February 8, 2012 Author Posted February 8, 2012 The preview windows work fine for me' date=' in both Head and Full versions. [/quote'] Could you tell me what you are doing, I get this if I call up an Actor, and cannot resize the window.
labrat Posted February 8, 2012 Author Posted February 8, 2012 screen resolution? Thanks Surenas, that certainly does the trick - moving from 1024x768 to 1280x960 gives me the ability to resize again. But Aaargh! Everything's so small!
Eyrika Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 yeah, those windows go off my screen, too. I just drag the window over to where I can see it :\
roy12 Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Can't change NPCs skin color of the head. Only the body skin changes color when done. According to someone at the Bethesda forums, it's being fixed.
Sosw Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 The reference alias window is far too tall, and my screen resolution is at the highest possible value at 1600x900. Any workarounds? Can't turn the screen, on a laptop. Would just be too uncomfortable and propably lead into serious neck issues.
labrat Posted February 9, 2012 Author Posted February 9, 2012 yeah' date=' those windows go off my screen, too. I just drag the window over to where I can see it :\ [/quote'] I didn't have that problem exactly. At some resolutions (like the one I was using) the windows aren't handled well. Some are fixed in size which means that you cannot expand them to see out of view stuff, and all are inclined to cause a CTD if you drag them. The only solution I have atm is as Surenas suggested, abandon my favourite resolution and get used to something else.
labrat Posted February 9, 2012 Author Posted February 9, 2012 Other people said they weren't able to save their mods. The first time I saved a mod that had a bit of geography in it I thought it had hung. Took over ten minutes as it created default pathing systems but did come through eventually and subsequent saves are swift. (Learned from bitter experience with other CKs not to be too impatient and kill the process) Maybe that's what other people have experienced? CK seems to die but actually hasn't, it's just comatose.
koocamunga Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Mine won't even open. I get an error message saying "Failed to enumerate subscribed files"

[/quote'] Yes I have that problem, you can not see the OK button, but can see all that you need to edit, I just hit enter button once I have everything set as I want it, to cancel I just hit the X in the top right corner.
Endiness Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Assert File: C:\_Skyrim\Code\TESV\BSShader\Shaders\BSLightingShaderProperty.cpp Line: 806 Preview full works fine, but preview head looks like this.
galgat Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Humm, I am wondering did you put the high res textures in. I had read that they had many errors in them, and were missing textures. I have them, but My system is labored right now [FPS wise], I do not need to increase the burden, so I have not installed them yet. Many of the Russian forums were complaining about that, and the English DLstring thing. I also saw some complaints about the missing textures in the High res pack in other forums. Not that that is your problem, but I was assuming that from the missing face of the model.
ahondara Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 I am also suffering the problem where I cannot reach or see the OK button to save new NPCs. I too tried changing my resolution settings, and though that lets me see the entire new actor window it is actually cut off near the bottom there. The window just ends and cuts off smack in the middle of the viewing options for "full body" and "head". I know the OK button is just below that, but can't get to it. Hitting "Enter" does nothing for me. Any other ideas? Utterly maddening. I'm running this on XP with dual monitors btw, I see no option for flipping the screen vertically.

[/quote'] I found that if I collapse my desktop start menu bar and select just under the frame header bar I can push up the frame just enough to catch the top edge of the button I know is the OK button (the one ont the left) annoying to have to do it but that's the best I can offer. Beth have really screwed up something simple here.
tonargarth Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 1) NPC window cannot be resized so preview of characters is impossible: Upping screen resolution cured it. Seems to be more aspect than resolution. Had same problem at 1280x1024 - 32 (Win 7 64 bit). After reading this thread, came down in resolution, tried 1280x960 - 32 and, poof, problem gone. Go figure... and thanks for all the fish...
AwfulArchdemon Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 This isn't intended to be a personal thread. I think it might be a good idea if all the problems (and solutions) people find are copied into one thread that can act like a FAQ or is that a bad idea? Ok. I am no thread hijacker. But I saw the above msg and thought it was a good idea so here goes. I relocated my Skyrim to a different C: location, and when I did, both NMM (hate it) and CK wouldn't open anymore. Fixed the NMM thing, but now CK always gives me "could not find .exe" error. I went to Steam and went through all of the troubleshooting they give you, but now my CK gives me "disc read" error. Error, error, error, that's all I ever see anymore! Steam won't reply to this question (apparently), so I thought this would be a good place to ask. How do i get this thing to work again? Relocating to various places has proved unsuccessful, and I can't seem to redownload it, as the option to "Install game" does not appear in "Tools" on Steam. Help? I saw downloadable CKs on Google, but I just don't trust them.
AwfulArchdemon Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 Anyone? Steam doesn't answer questions, and Nexus Isn't helping either, so I need good old LL to steer me to a useable CK. Help? Edit: Never mind. problem is fixed.

Is there anything else I can do to fix the resize problem for the npc window?? Cause I have tried all kinds of diferent screen resolutions (atm im at 1440 x 900, which is my monitor's native resolution), but still can't resize the window. Any help would be appreciated. EDIT: Nevermind lol, got it fixed. The problem wasnt with the resolution, I'm at max 1440 x 900 for my monitor. The problem was I had the DPI set to the larger size, so I turned the DPI back down to the default (I think its 96, or something close to that on my monitor) and that fixed the problem. So now my character preview window works like it should and I can see all of the preview, and I can resize the window now too. SO if your still having problems after change your screen resolution, then try putting your DPI back to its default setting for your monitor.
