Asking for a kind soul to help!

Hello, recently tried to use some of the mods here on Loverslab and ahve run into difficulties. I'm not very gifted at  all when it comes to applying/using mods and was wondering if someone could be kind enough to take some time and help me out over a Skypecall or alike. I find it much easier then writing posts forth and back where I just end up doing wrong. Screensharing wouldof course probably be the best option!

I'm not quite sure where the problem lies, I've read a bit about loadorders and stuff and installed Loot but I'm not sure it's actually working. Problems so far have been animations not starting at all. That concerns Sexlab: Defeat

If someone's interested enough to help me out, please reply and I'll give you closer details!

Thanks in advance!

There is a complete tutorial on installing sexlab , listed under "Skyrim"  subheading "sexlab fremework"  subheading  "technical support sexlab framework"

But be warned that sexlab is a bitch to install, and if every detail is not right, the software disables the animations.   This is an attempt to prevent piracy.

Yeah, exactly why I asked for someone with patience and time enough to help me out step by step "live". Not really expecting there to be, but is worth a shot. I just see how it works well for so many people so don't see why it wouldn't for me if I could just grasp the while thing =p Gonna check out those topics though, thanks!

Here are a few tools you can use or must use: FNIS; this may be confusing, but once you get the idea, it gets /facepalm simple. You MUST use FNIS for users. Also, TES5edit from the Nexus can show you if you're missing some files. Yes, LOOT works almost every time, but you have to read about the errors and warnings it gives, and investigate them in depth.

Also, pay attention to installation intructions as closely as your attention span will allow; it can be tough, but the effort is worth it. Make sure you overwrite files when the instructions say to do so. Also, if it is a manual install, make sure you drag and drop or copy and paste all required files.

The vast majority of modders, when releasing complicated mods, will include detailed instructions in their OP (original post) that describes the mods that are presented. These are just the few very basic things that I can share (that I can bring to mind right now).

I would hunt harder for solutions, but I'm in the middle of getting my old computer outfitted with Skyrim and the CK so I can separate modding from playing, so I don't screw up one or the other.

Have fun.

@airdance (please note that I am not trying to personally attack you):

Not trying to be a d*ck or anything, but SexLab is about as easy as it gets when it comes to installation.

Really, what are the requirements?

1) The latest SKSE. If you're (not necessarily you, but the general person) modding Skyrim, you're running SKSE. Many of the greatest mods require it and it is widely considered a core component in a PC installation of the game.

2) The latest Fores New Idles in Skyrim (FNIS). Looking to run just about any animation mod? Here you go! Similarly, FNIS is widely regarded as a core component in an installation of the game.

3) The latest SkyUI. Simply put, it is the most endorsed file on the Nexus. Somehow, a nice interface is more important to people than a functioning game (by using the Unofficial Patches). Again, a core component!

These are all requirements that a typical modded installation of the game includes already!

I'm not trying to personally attack you; I'm sorry if it seems that way. I've recently seen multiple people post on various places that I frequent that SexLab Framework is difficult to install, but the fact is that it is no more difficult to install than most typical mods of in it's class (I'm referring to it being an animation mod). It is almost as if someone out there is trying to propagate this belief. I figured that I can at least do my part to work against this fallacy here.

@MadOrse:

Like I said above, it is not any more difficult to install than most mods in its class. Of course, you mention that you don't have much experience with installing mods.

What I would do is start off with a mod manager like Nexus Mod Manager of Mod Organizer to make installation and uninstallation easier.

Install the latest SKSE: Go to the Skyrim Script Extender (SKSE) website. Download the 7z archive (it's the link near the top that says "7z archive"). Extract it and drop the files contained within directly in your installation of the game (in the folder that contains "TESV.exe").

Install FNIS: Go to the mod's page and download the file (you can use the Download with Manager button if it's more comfortable for you). Install it with your mod manager.

Generating behavior files with FNIS: Navigate to your installation of the game and go to Data\Tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users\. Double click on "GenerateFNISforUsers.exe". It will open a new window. Browse the available patches, and check the ones that apply (based on what mods you have). Notice the patch called "Skeleton Arm Fix". For now don't worry about it, but if you're arm looks weird during animations in-game, be sure to check this before you re-generate behavior files again.

Install SkyUI: Go to the mod's page and download the file and simply install it.

Install SexLab Framework and SexLab Defeat: As simple as the above - download the mod, import it into the manager and install.

The fact that animations aren't playing probably means that you didn't re-run FNIS (i.e. regenerate behavior files). Also, make sure you have the latest SKSE.

@TheDriedFinger

Thank you for your response.

I'm using Nexus Mod Manager, that much I picked up, and I did get all the core mods you mentioned before even attempting a Loverslab mod. They work flawlessly because of NMM being such an easy tool to use. But as soon as I get to SKSE and the Sexlab mods where I can't use that tool for the installation, I'm afraid that I might fuck things up. Especially the SKSE but it might actually be that they're fine and that it's actually FNIS that isn't working properly.

This is pretty much what I've done: I've gotten all the reuired mods, installing them to my desktop once I couldn't use the tool and added them to NMM from there. I recall having dragged and dropped files directly into some skyrim related folder (as per instructions) but I simply can't recall the details.

I've spoken about this issue once before on this forum. He told me that my Generate FNIS for users missed some text when I updated it.

This is pretty much everything it said:

FNIS Behavior V5.1.1   2014-08-10 12:51:52
Skyrim: 1.9.32.0 - C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim (Steam)

Skeleton female: Default (99 bones)   male: Default (99 bones)

Reading FNIS V5.1.1 ...
Reading FNISBase V5.1.1 ...
Reading SexLab V1.58 ...
Reading SexLabCreature V1.58 ...
Reading SexLabDefeat V?.? ...

All Anim Lists scanned. Generating Behavior Files ...

Creature Pack not installed

 948 animations for 5 mods successfully included (character)

I'm not sure what I'm missing, everything seems to be there but still once I try to get an animation going (tested so far by selecting the "rape" option once I've knocked an opponent down (Btw, the tie-up animation does work). The only result I've had this far is taht the test-subject gets stripped, stands up and walks away like nothing.

Edit: Just ran the Generare FNIS for Users twice, once withdefeat activated and once without... The amount of animations included doesn't seem to change making me think that the Defeat animations aren't even added for some reason.

Alright, so I'm just going to be writing stuff as I think of it.

So, you're probably running the latest SKSE (or at least an acceptable version that supports SexLab Framework), else you'd get a warning every time you start the game in the form of a message box. Your FNIS output says you're running the latest version; no problems there. Similarly, you're running the latest SexLab Framework.

You're using the default skeleton. Could that be a problem? No, you'd have noticed T-poses; crashing would even be possible I think if there really was a problem.

With regards to why the number of animations registered didn't change: You didn't actually uninstall the mod (you just deactivated it), so the animations still exist in your installation, and they're being registered, which is fine. The fact that animations indeed are being registered (evidenced by the Defeat animations working properly) is a good sign that FNIS is doing its job.

I'm curious as to what your Papyrus Log looks like at the time that SexLab attempts to start an animation. For more information on setting up your game to enable this logging and where to find the logs, visit: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2791993

Opening the Skyrim folders shows me that there's already text there almost identical to the one I was supposed to copy.
Except the text from the forum you linked looked like this:
[Papyrus]
fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=500.0
bEnableLogging=1
bEnableTrace=1
bLoadDebugInformation=1

While the text already there looked like this:

[Papyrus]

fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=500.0
bEnableLogging=0
bEnableTrace=0
bLoadDebugInformation=0

Still ended up adding it though since I couldn't find a folder called Skyrim.ini. Only Skyrim and SkyriPref

On another note, if by T-poses you mean that the game sometimes loads with every character kinda "frozen" that does happen at times. Usually after I'm accessing an old save after having been de-activating a mod which I've done frequently trying to solve the sexlab problem. New saves load just fine though but that bug has indeed ruined some saves for me.

Still hoping someone with knowledge about all this could be kind enough to try and help me live. Way easier for me to follow instructions fed directly to me through an instant chat system aswell as being able to have my silly questions answered faster.
