knight133 Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 Hay to y'all, Can someone guide me to play secondlife for players who don't would like play by them self.
ArchangelicaStar Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 SecondLife is, by its very design, meant to be played with others. There is no single-player component.
Nonsense667 Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Although that may be true, it would be nice if there was a "leave me alone" option to have above your head or something like that. At least there wasn't anything like that when I played a few years ago. It may be geared towards interaction, but sometimes you want to roleplay by yourself.
birdo23 Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 How to play by yourself: First, rent a parcel or skybox, whichever you prefer and set it to hide avatars with in the boundary of it (Can only be done if the landowner allows it.) Pepita Estate is a popular renter when it comes to Skyboxes, prices are usually L$300-2k or so a week. Then do whatever you want to do from there, as long as your land owner allows it. I almost never play but when I do, I do the above. I usually have a few friends with me though.
Madmartigan34 Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Top of your screen. Comm > Online Status > Unavailable. Bam. You're left alone. Unable to be bothered by anyone.

[/quote'] I think you mean you want find someone there who plays with you and that is an act of meeting other. Best place to do that are the clubs or shops. You must have a bit luck too that you find someone who is willing to do some you like. I am a member there for some years and if you want know more pm me P.S. I am a woman there with a lovely body
astymma Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 You could always try one of the Second Life clones like OpenSim. Can host the server on your own machine. Don't really get the desire to play a version of Second Life by yourself though... the entire reason for its existence is to be a 3d community.
Irishredneck Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 If you REALLY want to play Second Life all by yourself.. Just make another 'toon. Use Phoenix or Firestorm and run a second window of SLife. You may have up to 5 alternates associated with one e-mail account. And, if I may, If anyone wants a really good place for Forced fantasy play....Dolcett style play, and good ol' vanilla slex! Come to my place. Search for South Side Snakepit My name in SL is Ogart Coba. Send me a message in world and I'll show you around, or assist anyway I can.

I don't know if you remember me, you helped me get introduced with SL. Didn't come back because I kinda lost interest in it, not my thing. But yeah, thanks you very much for taking the time to help out a noob
Irishredneck Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Hey Mick.. Yeah I do remember you. All are welcome in the Snakepit.. We don't judge, we don't discriminate. We might Joberg your ass though! Yeah, we DO have Joberg-like toys to play on. You can be grabbed, thrown down, stripped and violated. Repeatedly. Or you can be the one initiating the action. Look for me in-world and I'll show you how.
Sεraphim Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 First time I played Second Life: *Logged in* *Finished tutorial* *Started flying around* *Ended up in the middle of nowhere* "WHAT THE FUCK AM I SUPPOSE TO DO!?" *Quits* xD

That's what happened to me the first time I played! I came back years later though, then it was a different story
NightShade Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 i was just testing this game out and was randomly clicking around when i accidentally "spanked someone's ass" awkward....
astymma Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 i was just testing this game out and was randomly clicking around when i accidentally "spanked someone's ass" awkward.... Heh, most of those are just spoofed text in green (coming from an object you clicked). To actually animate you, you have to give an object permission.
astymma Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Just wanted to provide an example of my avatar in second life so you can see that the avatars can look a lot better than the default avatars you start with:
Sεraphim Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Just wanted to provide an example of my avatar in second life so you can see that the avatars can look a lot better than the default avatars you start with: Heh, looks like Johnny Depp!
LibidoKnievel Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 I've been "checking in" for very brief periods over the last six or seven years. Decided I would take another look around tonight, so, if you want, add me to your friends lists. "Sticks Rang" is my avatar and he's a musclebound fella with cop sunglasses, a big cigar and a working cock.
Presto Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 As someone with a passing interest, how much does it cost to play the game? Is it monthly fees, initial, or just whatever costs you come across buying content in game? I'd be interested in giving it a shot but don't necessarily want to be caught in the trap of a money pit if I start playing and buying everything in site (i have no will power)
Nonsense667 Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Basically there are shops in the game, and you can pay real money to get game money to spend in the shops. You can also earn the in-game currency via other methods, without using real cash. I have not played in a few years however, but I have been thinking about trying it out again. Last time I gave up because my laptop could not really run it well, but now I have a much better computer.
astymma Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Second Life is free to play and there are an enormous amount of freebies throughout the world. It uses an in world currency called Lindens for all purchases. You can earn them in world by getting a job, creating and selling content, etc.. You can also buy them with real money through the LindeX (a money exchange). If you get a Premium account it's 9.95 us$ a month (or less if you buy more months at a time) and for that you get free tier (monthly rent) equal to 512 square meters. You can go buy a 512m2 parcel on the mainland or accept one of the free houses in one of the newbie neighborhoods (which are fairly nicely done) that has an empty house and is on a 512m2 parcel of land. Premiums also receive a stipend of 300 Lindens per week. They also receive priority on support calls. My advice is try it for free, keep an open mind, give it a few weeks and explore as much as you can... if you hate it move on, if you like it consider becoming premium but I know players with 5 and 6 year old accounts who have never spent a dime on SL. I'm a premium account but I haven't spent real money to pay for my premium account in almost 2 years. I earn enough Lindens in world selling content and providing scripting for people and Lindens can be sold on the LindeX and the real us$ will be placed in the same account premium membership fees are drawn from before billing your debit/credit card. To give you an idea, with the exchange rate right at this moment for selling Lindens for us$, you need to sell 2641 Lindens to get 9.95$. So, as long as I earn 2641 Lindens this month, I can sell them and have enough to cover my premium fee. A typical small scripting project can earn me between 500 and 2000 Lindens per job so it's not all that difficult for me to support my premium membership and make a profit so I can afford to buy content in the world quite easily. It's made even easier by the fact that with the 300L/week stipend, that means I only need to earn 2641 - 1200 = 1441 Lindens to cover premium.
Presto Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Sounds interesting. I'll need to wait until I have a free weekend so I can jump in and give it a few hours at once. I can easily see myself getting addicted. I used to be obsessed with Playstation Home (yeah I know... sad to hear) and this is essentially the same thing with better customization and adult content so thumbs up for that.
Silk Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 As Nonsense said, you can either buy money for in game stuff, or simply earn it via other means. Other means is pretty much anything you can think of.
LibidoKnievel Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Yeah, my account was created in 2007, and I've always been a free member. Did spend probably $15 of real money to outfit myself with a nice animation pack and some classy threads long ago, but that's really it. As stated, there are hundreds of free shops with thousands of free items in them. Lots of quality skins and models, hair, clothes and objects. You can clutter your inventory real fast in some of the free shops. You need to verify your account to be able to access adult content, and once you do that, just search for "sex" or "bdsm" or something of that nature and you'll be presented with a long list of adult areas and some descriptions with traffic numbers. Be sure to buy a cock before you head over though, because the default models are androids, last I checked.
