Lord Ariakas Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Hi all, I played with Skyre until now, and I suddenly heard about requiem and I wanted to give it a go. Currently I am using monster mod, monster wars, immersive creatures, dual sheath redux, asis, locational damage, immersive weapons and armors. I don't really want to give up them, but as far as I could see the last requiem update was in oct 2013. Since then these mods had new versions released, so there is anybody who using requiem? I am a bit clueless what I need to do to make them compatible?Just use the old patches? Do these mods compatible at all/there are patches for them?
nidhogga Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Theres Requiem patches for each one of mods you listed, except for maybe Monstermod, I dont use that so idk. Just search nexus for Requiem and you will see all the patches available. What you need is to install mods then comp patches, then make bashed patch in the end. DSR / ASIS and other skyproc patchers after that and thats it. You might wanna turn off increased spawns with ASIS though, game will be insanely hard.
Lord Ariakas Posted June 15, 2014 Author Posted June 15, 2014 I have seen those patches. There is not patch for the immersive armors and the monster mod. I am just curious what will happen if I install custom armor/monster/weapon mod which doesn't have a patch? The game will be unbalanced? They will get overpowered or weak?
Guest Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 There's patches for immersive armors too. And yes in my opinion that overhaul is pretty worth to be tried. Can't say if it's better or worst than other overhauls, in my opinion they all deserve to be played since they give such a different feeling at the whole vanilla

You dont really need a patch for armors or weapons unless its something like Immersive weapons that alters tons of vanilla npcs with flavor/fluff weps and whatnot (there is IW patch for requiem). Requiem will adjust all armor and weapon values anyways, only overpowered armor will be ones that are overpowered in vanilla game. Things that SHOULD be patched for usage with Requiem are any mods that add enemies or NPCS or new dungeons and such. Requiem changes every single monster/npc in vanilla game and gives it new stats and perks. If you use random mod that changes some npc back to vanilla, nothing BAD will happen, just that npc/monster will be super weak in your new brutal Requiem-ized game. EDIT : Some mods work with Requiem nicely out of the box though, I rememeber OBIS worked really nice , didnt notice much balance problems even without any patch. It all depends really, best to look on Requiem's page / manual for compatibilty info.
Lord Ariakas Posted June 15, 2014 Author Posted June 15, 2014 So you mean Requiem will change all of the values of the weapons/armors which I added to the game (mods)? So if there is no patch for monster mod/wars they will be all 1 hit? Yeah I will try out Requiem, it is deserved to be played.:.)

The armor/wep change is automatic, you dont need to lift a finger for them to be readjusted by Requiem. As for monster mod I have no idea since I never used that mod, I assume the monsters will be weaker than they should be. I suggest you make new Mod Organizer profile and install requiem there and try.
Lord Ariakas Posted June 15, 2014 Author Posted June 15, 2014 Yeah sounds good. This is what I will do. Also I heard Requiem will be too easy later, what if I would install higher level enemies on top of Requiem when the game getting too easy, so Boss loke monsters keeps scaling with me, there are also higher level monsters will spawn.Or this is not a good idea? What is with spell packs like apocalypse, midas magic? Those will be automatically adjusted too by Requiem?

nidhogga Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Not using midas, theres patch for apocalypse for requiem. Generally other magic mods work alright without patches but can make things easier since requiem makes spells more expensive in general, ones added by other mods stay at vanilla prices which are 1/10 of requiem ones. I wouldnt install anything to buff your requiem difficulty, at least for first run. The point of Requiem is exactly that, to make the world not level scaled, no roadside bandits dressed in daedric armor with enchanted weps, all of that shit is gone in Requiem. You should read Requiem manual and see how the creatures are tiered now. This leads to some interesting side effects for example main quest being fucking impossible for newbies (the dragur part) cause you will get owned hard in Bleakfalls Barrow. Even if you manage to do it and unlock shouts and whatnot you basically just doomed yourself cause dragons are REALLY HARD in Requiem and random ones that attack your lvl 5 char will be impossible to deal with.
Lord Ariakas Posted June 15, 2014 Author Posted June 15, 2014 Hehe...I already like it.What is with asis? I Like to use it, because enemies will drink potions and cast spells from mods. Also ultimate combat? Draugrs teleport behind you, other creatures got special moves too. I guess that is not compatible. So the advice is that Do not go Bleakfalls first? What level would be good to go there?(and for killing dragons?) Also Bellyaches got beautiful dragons like azure racer. They will be weak too unfortunately I think. I will install them anyway cos they are nice...
nidhogga Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 At first I'd avoid anything related to undead till you get a silver weapon, DO NOT finish bleakfalls barrow and unlock dragons/shouts untill you are higher level, it will make the game much harder as I mentioned. You will use skill trainers, actually thats probably where most of your gold will go so try to keep that in mind. You should stick to bandits and such at begining, ones around whiterun and riverwood are good for newbies. Forsworn are not too hard but the spriggans and others with them usually will demolish you. Blocking is important, as is generally avoiding blows cause you can, and will ,get one shotted by power attacks no matter what your armor is. Perks are really important and you literally cannot use even heavy armor properly without 1 perk in it at least. Your characters will be specialized. Changes are massive and you should really read up on them cause i'd need to make 3 page post just with "tips"
Lord Ariakas Posted June 15, 2014 Author Posted June 15, 2014 Lol...good.:)I would like to make a dual sword warrior with heavy armor. Or this is not a good idea? I am not planning to use any shield...
