nutluck Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Did you watch the tutorial series by Gopher. Please, if you've never used mods before watch the tutorials and follow along step by step. It will show you how to do this stuff. And it will make it seem simple. It's a far better option than asking here and people trying to type all this stuff out, step by step. Now go watch the tutorials and follow along. You'll get it, I promise. It's how I got started with modding Skyrim, too. I think it is how the majority of us got started. Least those of us that started after he made that series. It is why I linked it in my previous post. It is just the best beginners guide to modding skyrim I have found.

Gopher does a great job of making it seem simple and easy (it is really) and his presentation is easy to digest and retain. Plus he uses NMM so all the newbs using it can just follow his lead. His tutorial on cleaning masters with TES5Edit is also a must in my opinion.
loopie Posted June 1, 2014 Author Posted June 1, 2014 yes, I watched it. Got the hang of NMM from it, but the videos do not adress specific technical issues such as the one I am experiencing now, which is SexLabsFramework, and SexLabsFramework only and exclusively, is not registering, showing up in the MCM and not being registeres by Zaz. Only thing that I could gather from the videos is that its my load order, I have tried about 20-30 different load order combos by now so that most definitely is not it. Really need some help with this one specifically, and yes, I spent maybe 10 hours between yesterday and today googling, reading various peoples posts and documentation all to no avail. I got finally completely stomped when I uninstalled the game, completely wiped all traces of it and SkyUI and SexLabsFramework, down to running regedit and getting rid of any leftover references. rebooted, re-downloaded everythign fresh in case something was or got corrupted, started brand new game, brand spanking new saves and have same problem. Only thing I am going to do now, is repeat the uninstall, clean install, and load nothing except SKSE, FNIS, Unofificial patches, SkyUI, SexLabsFramework and Zaz. We'll see what happens, but what do you think will it be if the problem comes back again as it did this time ?
gvman3670 Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 SL Framework, most SL mods, are best installed manually. NMM can break them, heck it breaks everyone's game who uses NMM eventually. If you don't want to do manual installs (and I wouldn't blame you) and you want to have your game set up stable, solid, fast and reliable.....you will have to make the switch to Mod Organizer and do a fresh install (as well as clean all the nasty master files). This is how goes if you want to play modded Skyrim.
gvman3670 Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 First off, if you just added the SL Framework and SL mods it can take several minutes (depending on what you added and how your rig handles them) for everything to initialize and for them to show up in the MCM. If you just fired the game up with them installed and looked you won't find them. Get the mod Live Another Life and at least not have to deal with all that initial cinematic nonsense.
loopie Posted June 3, 2014 Author Posted June 3, 2014 All right, got my game working, and posted what I did about the SL and MCM in the SL section http://www.loverslab.com/topic/32153-sexlabsframework-mcm-problem/?p=805028 Now the only thing that bugs me a bit is that whenever I add a mod that adds a lot of NPCs the game becomes unstable. Mods I tried: More Guards Immersive Wenches Interesting NPC Inconsequential NPC HYD slavegirls Couple others that add companions. Running with ENBoost, tried default and modified ini and prefs settings to help out with memory. I had to remove the above mods to be able to run the game, unfortunately it feels quite barren without any of the extras running around. Any tips what else I can do to be able to have some extra NPCs ? The only mod that I am able to run that adds additional NPCs beyond companions is Border Guards, but I would like more if possible.
...0... Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 Why don't you explain what your exactly doing when you start from scratch? NMM or MO SKSE 1.7-LOOT-TES5EDIT then never run skyrim ever through steam only through SKSE. Then TUTORIALS or you will come forever here HELP HELP my game CTD or it won't work I suggest go slowly research first how best to install FORGET SEXLAB and other HORNY SEX MODS , go first learn to mod your game with textures body type and some house mods see if it all work smoothly. Oh above post you manage to make some progress ok good. Many scripted mods can cause trouble and many NPC'S also nomatter how powerfull your system is . Just see what works and make sure you read the readme if its compatible with other mods.
gvman3670 Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 I haven't had any real issues with interesting NPCs or inconsequential NPCs. The rest are heavily scripted and will make your game unstable (and maybe even laggy when you throw in lots of other NPCs). The only way to get away from those (and their scripts) is to delete them then load a save made prior to adding them. If you leave orphaned scripts from removed mods in your game it will eventually break. It will become a lag/crash fest sooner or later. Then (if you're not using Mod Organizer) you'll have to reinstall everything all over again.
