Guest Vendayn Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Some dude on Nexus is trying to say "no it isn't, you can only use one or the other. You are ruining my ENB crycrycry". The ENB I started with is Bleak ENB. Interiors kinda ugly (to me anyway), and basic kind of effects (and horrible DOF, I don't like DOF in most ENB its too intrusive)...but exteriors are rather awesome and...bleak. That gave me 40 FPS on average. Then, I moved Serenity ENB screen archery preset, copied everything over (it has a ton of extra files that Bleak does not)...replaced only ENBlocal and the ENBseries folder. Did not replace anything else from Bleak. And the lighting in interiors became amazing, better DOF. But still looks like Bleak, but even more enhanced and even harsher looking. But lowered FPS to 25-30. However, pure screen archery gives me only 10-15 FPS. So I know I lose some effects cause I do get a huge increase from just pure SA. But, the guy is saying it isn't possible to use both. And I kept trying to say "that is why my game looks totally different than pure Serenity or pure Bleak"...I tried it pure SA (and it didn't look the same) and pure Bleak (doesn't look the same) and it looks totally different. So...I know Serenity has a ton of extra files that add different effects. But the guy kept trying to argue otherwise and that it just won't work. When...in my game it totally changed it and made it way better than Bleak and much better performance than pure SA. So...decided to just stop arguing about it since its too dumb to argue about it. Waste of time lol. So...did I discover something new? Guy is just dumb? Or am I dumb?...but I know 100% that my game's lighting is different than pure SA and pure Bleak...but that dude keeps trying to argue about it lol. And no, there isn't any bugs either from it. I know it must be all the extra files SA adds, plus replacing than ENBseries folder. Its really mostly SA, but the Bleak settings get used and a few of its effects...cause in my game, it looks like a much better version of Bleak. But according to the guy who made Serenity, it isn't even possible...when I can see it for myself lol. (edit) I know SA uses...SweetFX, and I did try removing it for an experiment and it did change the look a bit. But, it was still a lot different than Bleak or SA. And removing it only gave me about 2 FPS anyway, which wouldn't explain the loss from pure Bleak to a mix of Bleak and SA. Unless I am just blind and seeing things...that is what that guy said in a private message to me. Maybe its true...but, sure looks different than either of them by themselves.
Spyder Arachnid Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 ENB Profile Switcher. Just a quick google search.
...0... Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 There are ENB'S based on other ENB'S Example RealVision ENB most of the time main ENB you use but you have ENB like HRK ENB that is based on Skyrimtuners RV ENB which gives a more warm and sphere full colors, so you can use both. Other example i did few months back was RealVision fully installed but use also Gothic ENB so it gave a more somber feel to it. You can this way mix alot of ENB to your own liking.
ongwk733 Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 @SpyderArachnid I think OP meant if it was possible to use multiple ENBs at the same time. Like the vibrance and contrast of one ENB but the bloom and DOF of another ENB and such.
Guest Vendayn Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Yeah, cause either I'm blind and really dumb and a moron who should shun his own self...or the guy who made Serenity is just dumb and hates his "artwork" being modified...cause he said it is impossible to use features of more than one ENB.
Skyrimfloo Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Well, all those ENBs are nothing more than different presets for enblocal.ini, enbseries.ini, also some ENBs include other tweaks from SweetFX_settings.txt and such. Technically you should be able to mix and match the things you like from both ENBs if you know what exact settings do what.
Spyder Arachnid Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Ah, my mistake then. But yeah, like Skyrimfloo said, they are nothing more than just different presets. If you know what you like from each one, just go into the settings and adjust them accordingly. But it's really just easier to customize your own ENB in general via the in game console. Pick an ENB you like, then open up the console in game and adjust it all to your liking.
Veladarius Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Look at the files that come with an enb, typically things like bloom and DOF and such are contained in the .fx files with it. I have used files from different enb's together and I currently use an enbeffectprepass.fx file I found on an ENB forum that allows for customization of the DOF.
Sunja44 Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Yeah, cause either I'm blind and really dumb and a moron who should shun his own self...or the guy who made Serenity is just dumb and hates his "artwork" being modified...cause he said it is impossible to use features of more than one ENB. You are able to mix and match different parts of ENBs, but it's almost impossible to throw them together by not adjusting them to each other and get an awesome result. You won't hurt your game or such things, it will mostly just look NOT awesome. Just throwing different enbbloom.fx, enbeffect.fx, enbeffectprepass.fx, enblens.fx and the corresponding .ini files for them - made for different presets - into your Skyrim folder and click the Skyrim launcher will lead in the most cases into a graphical mess or into something where half of the effects won't take effect at all or just mismatch....but tastes are different, maybe somebody will like it... Add to that different edits for different weather types, different lighting mods used and the probability that this will result in something that might look not that bad for ALL locations, ALL weathers, ALL interiors, ALL times of a day, ALL sun textures etc. will be virtually zero. It won't crush your game, but won't reach all its possibilities for sure, not even half would be my guess. You might find something well looking, it's ok if it is sufficient for you, but other people, who adjust ENB presets for a life time, will maybe enumerate a dozen bugs, mismatches or effects not working just after visiting the first interior zone. Sorry to be the guy with the red pill again :-)
Veladarius Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 It isn't hard to make adjustments to the enb its just that most people have no idea what does what. I did major changes to the enb I use and adjusted almost all the lighting and color filters to suit the mods I use. This guide has a lot of information as to what does what: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/39742/?

You are absolutely right, but the magic word is "adjustment", not just bracket something together...and yes, JawZ's guide is some sort of an ENB bible.
