gregathit Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 I think we can safely rule out animations being the issue. This type of thing happens with DR5 and DR6 deaths as well. I'll take a peek at the other links you gave. Unfortunately I'll be traveling until memorial day weekend so I won't be able to touch it until then.
varenne Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 I wouldn't completely rule out animations just yet. I do feel we've narrowed it down to the skeleton, and potentially the skeleton/animation combo. Just as their is a direct relationship between a given mesh and the skeleton, so too is there one between skeleton and animations. My best guess again is the 'instructions' being provided by the animation are exceeding the skeletal design. The animation is not necessarily bugged or defective, it's just exceeding the design parameters of the skeletons we all use. As I've been posting I do now recall I think seeing this OP issue a while back, but only on very rare occasions. Now that I have WappyOne's RaperS death related functions turned off or way way down, NPC/PC death happens less frequently and hence, this mesh bug as well. Side note: Been meaning to try DR5 or DR6, which is more stable/less buggy?
gregathit Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 In my experience DR6 is more stable and more feature rich. I'd avoid the gore splatter camera deal and avoid using horse combat, beyond that, it is far superior and much more customizable via both the in game menu and the ini. Having worked with animations for quite a while now, I don't think the animations have anything at all to do with it. Mainly because there is no animation that is being played at time of death. Vary rare is an animation at fault in stuff like this. Generally it is a mesh that is not weight painted properly or missing something and so on. However, until I have time to get into the nuts and bolts I won't rule out anything.
varenne Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 I believe ShiaNekoChan mentioned above that one of the conditions are when an NPC/PC is in a Lovers animation and then dies, so I was thinking maybe the Lovers animation, not the death animation. You are definitely light years ahead of me on Blender/Oblivion animations, I can only make educated guesses based on other 3d modeling tools.
Nightwynd Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 I don't know if this is of any help, but I've seen this happen before any time an NPC is killed while performing a custom animation, for example the self-cast animation from Spellsinger, not just with Lovers animations.
kingkong Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 adding more ragdoll constraint to the skeleton did not made it better all i succeed is crushing the game again and again or no change i am not a specialist and might did wrong but it seems that Nightwynd (as i noticed also) is right about some forced animations give unnaturel and streching death movement i think it is more about reseting the forced animation before death but this is completely out of my knowlege
