The best graphics card on the market currently is the monstrous EVGA GeForce GTX Titan. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487036 This beast sports 2880 CUDA Cores which makes even the Radeon R9 Series jealous. Its pricey though and tends to go out of stock quickly. Personally if I were you I would try to get 2 EVGA GeForce 760 GTX and crossfire them. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130932 Much more cost efficient. Your main-board I wouldn't settle for anything other than the ASUS Sabertooth Series. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132132 ASUS makes some baddass gaming mobo's and they're just dying to be overclocked. To be safe I wouldn't overclock though; it cuts down on the CPU's life. Speaking of CPU's; http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116901 The Intel Core i7-4770k Haswell tops the market on Newegg when it comes to processors. I would suggest picking up a Corsair heatsink because stock heatsinks really don't par up well. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181032 Although I prefer the H110 the H100i works just as well and keeps your processor at a good temp (mines sitting at a chilly 26 Celsius idle and 34 Celsius while playing anything).

I use for years Intel based mother boards and i also OC and my scores and how my rig runs are above average so that's also not true. I have eather a MSI Xpower motherboard for OC or Asus maximus extreme gaming mother boards also for OC its high end but they work perfectly with AMD cards i gues lower ends are fine also. Best graphics card on the market is at moment AMD 295 2x and titan already not sold anymore, both 780 ti or titan black which is barely faster then 290x but cost 975 euro's which nobody buys way to expensive. Titan z not yet on market will cost 2900 euros but slower then 295 2x which cost half the price. Because something is sold more don't mean it's better lol.
woodenstick Posted May 17, 2014 Author Posted May 17, 2014 Thanks guys, I'll take a look at it today.I almost forgot about this thread, been real busy job searching and playing dark souls lately >.<Can I actually 760 crossfire without going overbudget? Going to go with 760 crossfirei7 4770kso farstill need motherboard, powersupply, ram and HDD will update later...
Rayblue Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 If your budget still allows the high end, but personally I would stick with an i5 processor, which is more than enough for most games, but pick up the more recent 7XX card (and sometimes it seems that one strong card is better than having two unless you're planning to go 4K than 1080p and so probably justifying the need for SLI).
Lexi SubZero Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151087 ..it's SeaSonic..you can never go wrong with thatRAM: I'd go for either Kingston HyperX, G.SKILL Ripjaws or CORSAIR VengeanceMOBO: Will this do? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131981HDD: Any Western Digital Black or Blue Series with size of your choosing EDIT: @EvasiaDutch I'm no fanboy either but...nVidia and crappy drivers? ...I think you are talking about ATI/AMD here...from my experience (stayed with ATI/AMD since 2005 to 2012)...almost next to none OpenGL support..I needed Omega drivers to get at least some, same for driver customization unless you dump Catalyst Control Center and replace it with ATI Tray Tools... ...really I had nothing but trouble with Radeons and I'm really glad I switched back to GeForce.
Sweatington Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Isn't the Radeon R9 295x2 better then GTX Titan though?
woodenstick Posted May 18, 2014 Author Posted May 18, 2014 Power supply: ($180) http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151087Would 750W get the job done? I don't really care about looks, needs to be cheap and keep my components cool though. Total: $1660 Yeah my budget just got destroyed... Anyway to cut some cost here without significantly reducing performance? You're right rayblue, that i7 did really pack a punch >.<Evasia I've been using intel for my entire life, so yeah totally a fanboy
woodenstick Posted May 18, 2014 Author Posted May 18, 2014 One idea would be to just go with a single 760 for now, and sli another one laterone 760 should be enough for most games right? The reason is that I'm currently trying to secure an internship, and I'm borrowing money so the budget is pretty strictBut I'm expecting around $50k salary once I do get one so budget would no longer apply
Lexi SubZero Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Case: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119233 ?? It's a REALLY budget one though... Too bad they don't have AeroCool cases...they are cheap and nicely designed too.
...0... Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Isn't the Radeon R9 295x2 better then GTX Titan though? You mean Titan Z and AMD R9 295X2 is faster BETTER plus half the price. Drivers are also better and cross fire scaled better these days.
...0... Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Thanks guys, I'll take a look at it today. I almost forgot about this thread, been real busy job searching and playing dark souls lately >.< Can I actually 760 crossfire without going overbudget? Going to go with 760 crossfire i7 4770k so far still need motherboard, powersupply, ram and HDD will update later... You will tear your hair out later this year or next year with this budget you can spent on a PC but buy this video card which is not future proof and way to low VRAM go for 3gb card at least or more you will thank me for this advice, but its your choice offcorse. Go for icore 5 4670k its also very good but you safe money for better videocard. Im not agains Nvidia thats your choice but some just LIE to promote the product they love and then i just reply to that. I don't care if you buy Nvidia or AMD as long you have fun and pleasure with your system thats what counts not what i think. Good luck with your system.
woodenstick Posted May 18, 2014 Author Posted May 18, 2014 Okay the i5 4670k looks great, now I just gotta find a good monitorThanks a lot guys
woodenstick Posted May 19, 2014 Author Posted May 19, 2014 Regarding the HDD, would it be beneficial to get a ssd? It seems really expensive to go ssd just for faster load times...Also wouldn't it be better to just get a 780ti instead of sli 760s?http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130942 seems like it's about the same price as 2 760s
Rayblue Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Actually, for now I don't mind about playing Skyrim installed on a regular 500gb hard drive, just that SSME makes gamesave loading a lot better.
nobilight Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 If you've got the funds for it you can't go wrong by starting with a 16 core opteron. http://www.neweggbusiness.com/product/product.aspx?item=9b-19-113-306 Though I'm doing quite well with an 8 core amd fx black 4 ghz running on an asus m5a97 r2 board with a geforce gtx 760 ftw card. I'm running a hybrid drive and other than an occasionally ctd I'm doing great.
