xenic Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 I'm trying to make my player character a follower but when I import the .npc file, the skintones don't match and I'm not sure how to include other mods to get the look right. What I'm looking for is someone to simplify the process for me.
Mr_Snow Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 make sure the facetint folder is re-named, the creator can't take into account other/modded files in there... and they'll be applied to you NPC when you're ingame anyway (remember to re-name the facetint folder back). This is all via memory atm, been a while since i've made a pc into npc, so some things may have changed. As for things to do with a stand-alone character, sorry aint made one of those yet, to creating a body "skin" and make-up etc involved idk.... yet.
Peiniger Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 1. Save your follower and close CK 2. Open CK and load your Follower as Plugin. 3. Select your Follower and press CTRL+F4. If you get any Messages just ignore them. Skintone should now match.

xenic Posted May 12, 2014 Author Posted May 12, 2014 Okay skin tones match. New problem, the brows are absent Okay, fixed the brows. How do I include the mods I used? To make my player? Mods are: SG Textures Renewal UNP SG Hairpack (hair number 9) SG Female Eyebrows (#8 I think) Flans Eyes v2.0 Complete (the green ones) NPC Verra Player Verra Okay, I am using these mods/files. I've reduced the folders to only the parts I am using, not sure if that's what I am supposed to do. And here is the file I have for Verra (her name is 000verra in the CK) Verra NPC.7z Please help me get this right so I can do it for myself in the future.
shadow866 Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Manage to make a few standalone followers without much problem following these guides. It might take a while the first time you do it. But once you learn it. it goes pretty quick. Now i can do a new follower in like 15 min. Tutorial - Creating Standalone NPCs http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/25673/? And Nifmerge to get the correct face http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Using_a_face_made_with_Chargen_Extension_on_an_NPC_for_Skyrim Good luck

It says it uses CharGen Extension which is a RaceMenu plugin.
hds Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Probably not, Nif Merge is mostly a tool that let you merge the head exported by RaceMenu, with the one exported by CK. If you don't use RM (which you should it really is impressive, and i'm telling it as a person who used ECE for the last 1,5 year and grown VERY attached to it , then i doubt you will have much use out of it. As for the question about NPC, are you asking more for a general advice how to do it (that means you know what to do in CK by yourself), or more for a detailed step by step guide? If it is the first then i can tell you that you have two options. Either change your hair/brow/eyes mods into esm files, then you'll be able to force your NPC plugin to use all the head parts you want directly from those mods (but that comes with a few cons), or you can just copy over those assets to your own NPC plugin (which means if you will ever want to release it, you would have to ask for permissions of mod authors whose assets you used). If you're asking for a more detailed guide you can PM me, but I've never bothered with turning esp files into esm, so i can't help you with that.

Its very detailed with a step by step guide with lot of pictures explaining everything.
scottstein001 Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 I know for me, I need to take the tintmasks folder out of the skyrim directory (usually to my desktop) in order for most of the face tints to be changeable in the creation kit. If you are still having issues, I used that trick to solve my problems. gl
AlmightyDeity Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 This post may be a bit old but if you or anyone else is still looking, a modder on Youtube has made a video on how to make an ECE custom follower. Choco did a great job showing how to do one from start to finish, and if not for this I wouldn't have bothered. Goodluck if you're still interested, I might be able to help if you run into a hiccup somewhere.
