Unable to start new game

Hi all. I did a reinstall of Skyrim and reinstalled a bunch of mods, but now I can't start a new game. The menu sounds are noticeably absent (the background music still plays, but the sounds from buttons don't play).

 

When clicking new game, the menu simply disappears leaving me with the Skyrim logo, and the music playing in the background, but nothing happens. Trying to load a new save downloaded from the Nexus results in a crash.

I doubt Estrus is the problem, since it has always worked before. But notice that at the end of the log, it says "VM is freezing" and "VM has frozen". I think that may be the cause.

System specs:
Win7 x64 SP1

Nvidia GTX670 2GB

12GB DDR3 RAM

 

Am also running SKSE 1.16.16, ENB 0.246 with Phinix preset, and HDT 10.24.

try that at menu screen open console and type that : coc ctest

without the : 

after that will load a test male char, after that char load quit to main menu and try new game, just to seen if that works first.

I have Skyrim installed on its own hard drive partition (just in case this kind of crap pops up), so I'll be formatting that drive and reinstalling.

 

I'll get back to you guys when its done.

 

Update: Ok, a completely fresh install with no mods at all works (of course it should >_>) time to add some mods and see what happens...

Update 2: Odd, after installing SKSE 1.16.16, the same problem popped up again.

 

Update 3: Tried again and now it's working. Wtf?! O.o

try the alpha version of skse, im using and so far no issues at all.

Yup, it was the version I was using.

 

Well it all works now so I guess the problem solved itself xD
