I am having no luck...

...getting FNIS to run with Mod Organizer. I have installed it with MO and installed it in Skyrim directory then pointed the binary to FNISforusers. I have ran it through MO and tried running it directly. I have read posts and watched videos on youtube and I cant seem to figure out what I am missing. This is my first try with MO and I have had some stumbles but managed to get all but this (and HDT hair on male characters but thats for another post) working.

When I run FNIS now the info post appears to run correctly but it sees no animations or mods, 0 on both. Ideas are appreciated!

OK. You have FNIS installed....inside of MO or manually put it in the Skyrim directory? I rearranged the folders a bit, rezipped them then installed then with MO. But I've also just manually installed them into my Skyrim directory as well. Both ways work, but the .exe for the generator has to be added to MO as an executable for it to be applied to your game.

Yup I have tried setting it up like all the other .exe files I have running through MO and I have tried running it outside MO also. I know it has to be something simple I am overlooking.  It says bad installation, here is my FNIS post for anyone that can tell me what I am doing wrong, whatever it is its a step I repeat as I get the same message and the tools folder is in the Skyrim directory with TESV.exe

There is either no file  C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\TESV.exe, or it is somehow corrupted (no file property "file version").

It says you're still running a vanilla skeleton. That sure won't help. And I don't see a version listed there either.

If it's set to run as an executable inside of MO then it should be reading. Not sure what the issue could be. But if you go to the non-adult Skyrim section there is a MO thread there that probably has your answer in it.

Nope to the vanilla skelly, I am using the xp32 maximum skeleton by groovatma  (sp?) off LL and  it seems to be working. I have read every tutorial I can find and tried off and on (frustration breaks) for a couple weeks. I have uninstalled and reinstalled FNIS, my skelly and the XP32 animation pack I am trying to run with no luck at all. I am convinced it has something to do with MO and the virtual files but according to most I read it should still find the files. I have it set up along with all the usual utilities (BOSS, Tes5edit, Wrye Bash, Bodyslide 2, SKSE, Creation Kit)  and all run properly except FNIS.

I've seen my FNIS show a 99 bone skeleton when it should've read 242 bones, but it's only when I run FNIS outside of MO. If I launch MO and run it from there it returns the proper skeleton and reads all my animations.

This is exactly the location of my TESV.exe and if its corrupted I am not sure how that happened as its a 2 week old clean install and everything works on it except FNIS, I have been playing np, just with vanilla animations

The paste I did was from a run through MO actually but I have tried it both ways just to see what it does.

Whatever you THINK is a C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\TESV.exe, it's not what the Operating System tells the Generator it is. And this TESV.exe check works for 1000s of users. You are the only one with that report. Same with the number of bones. If the generator tells you there is a 99 bones skeleton, then you can be ABSOLUTELY sure it is, and not xpms. There has never been one complaint about not being true.

You said you installed with MO. Are you sure you did it right?

Forget what I said about the corrupted TESV.exe, as I thought before. This would bring another message.

i guess the MO redirects are not working.
i suggest starting MO with administrator rights either via right-click -> run as admin or by opening the properties of the EXE/shortcut -> compatibilities tab -> checkbox Run as administrator.

if this doesn't help either, move MO to a different drive ... or at least out of a system folder.

Well yeah I mean I know its not seeing the skeleton and I may be wrong in this assumption but my hdt is working, that wouldnt work with a vanilla skeleton would it? I realize its working for everyone else, I realize its undoubtedly something I am repeating or something I am missing, I just cant figure out what. With MO can I just delete FNIS, remove it from my list and try again? This is what I have done, could that be the issue?

I had seen the run as admin before and tried it, just tried again and no go....what is the best way to move my MO to a non system folder? I already had it installed and started before I read the system folder causes issues or I wouldnt have started there, I am pretty new to the modding world obviously and had been using NMM until now, since pretty much overall opinions love MO I dont want to swap back so all input is appreciated.

if you have other internal drives, just move the MO folder there and then edit ModOrganizer.iNi to ensure all paths are set to the new location (mainly the download and mod folder).
if you have only 1 drive, make a new folder in the root dir of your C drive (Games f.e.) and move MO there. You'll still need to edit MOs iNi.

Another conflict can be caused by your AV and software DEP. Disable your AV to test if it causes MO to misbehave and check if software DEP is enabled in windows. Check google on how to do this. Software DEP is not needed as it's a hardware feature in all common CPUs and enabled in the BiOS by default.

Btw: Would be nice to know if you use Windows 8.x. if yes, i suggest you go back to Windows 7 and hope that Windows 9 will cause less trouble by being more backwards compatible.

Ok, I will work on this, I have Windows 7 and thank you for the suggestions
