True in RL they don't but that is often a fear factor of being caught. Which for a low level character works, but for a high level character it makes less sense. Plus I wouldn't be surprised if things like magic collars existed that cruel pimps and stuff would happily use them.

I was referring to the Alternative Start type mods being discussed so it would definitely be in the realm of low level player. A good follow up would be to send the player to assassinate their former pimp and/or all of the bullies as an added part of the Dark Brotherhood quest line.

 

 

 

Or as the new leader of the Dark Brotherhood maybe send Babbette to do it, then the whole assassination could be done as a cut away scene.

 

I could just imagine Babbette acting like a scared orphaned girl (a historically prime candidate for becoming a pimped whore), drawing them into a darkened place, then turning on them and killing them one by one.

 

Babbette: Mister, would you like to buy a flower?

 

Pimp: Hey little girl, why are you out here selling flowers?

 

Babbette: My whole family was killed by a dragon who also destroyed our farm, I have to sell flowers to get food to eat now.

 

Pimp (leering and looming closer to her): I can provide you with food and even a place to stay if you like.

 

Babbette: I don't know, you make me uncomfortable. Please stay back, I don't want to sell you any flowers now.

 

(Backs up a little bit as the pimp moves forward and then turns and runs into the dark place)

 

Pimp: Ok, she went right into our favorite dark stomping grounds. After her guys! By this time tomorrow we can have her selling a different kind of flower on this corner.

 

Queue scenes of Babette killing and feeding on each of the bullies in turn and then cornering the pimp and saying "This flower has been fresh for 300 years now and it'll take more than the likes of you to pick it" and then killing the pimp.

Ah ok, I thought you meant do away with the idea of a magical collar completely. I do agree for low level it wouldn't be needed but for a higher level character caught up in it, if it is a option for immersion it would be needed. Though I just thought the collar would be a easy way to solve the problem on why the character could roam but couldn't just sneak out of town to escape.

 

I do like the idea of a follow up quest with the dark brother hood.

 

Speaking of tying things to existing groups. Could also have the Thieves Guild as the brothel house, add a area off it and/or they could be the pimps or the pimp could be a new NPC placed there who works for the Thieves Guild. Least that would work well for Riftin though would be nice if there was other places in other cities too.

nutluck you really should try and make a "collar mod", that would restrict the movement of the PC. Isn't there maybe a mod on Nexus that does something similar to that?

I would love to, I have toyed around with modding skyrim. So far it is completely making my head swim still. So I am a long way off from being able to make even a simple mod. Plus my free time to do it is somewhat limited, but my goal is to one day be able to make mods as well or at the very least have the ablity to actually help others out with doing some of the modding in a join project. But at the moment it is still well beyond me.

 

I am sure eventually I can, I mean I taught myself to make web pages. It took a long time, so I figure eventually I can do the same here.

In bit of a hurry while writing this so I'll try to be brief, I'll make proper replies later

 

I Installed the "Dark Investigations" mod, got up to the point where prologue ends. It seems to have strong emphasis on the story side and uses some cutscenes to drive it so it's a good example of what can be done. On http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/951896-improved-cutscenes-with-cinematic-camera-fades-and-more/ there is discussion about that, I'll have to check if there's been any recent mods that works past the limitations.

 

I can use expressions and animations to make the scenes more alive. Can anyone suggest good custom idle stands/animations that could be of use? For hugging/kissing I found these:

If this mod turns out to be standalone, what possibilities does that bring, as we can mess with pretty much everything?

 

Like one thing that bothers me with mods that are not voice-acted, is going from talking with voiced vanilla character to added silent NPC, hurts the immersion. As we really don't need to interact with most (or any) vanilla characters, we could put dialogue volume to 0, stop the time during the dialogue window and make it more consistent, then it would seen like those older RPG's. We could also alter flow of time and make all the action happen during the night on the street (and resctrict the exiting of the city). Then we could remove and add NPCs as we like. What would be left is few citizens (potential customers), other prostitutes, guards, dealers, some merchants.

 

Anyways just brain storming here. Mostly staying vague till you decided on exactly what you want to do and once you decided. Then i will be happy to help with idea's on more specific things.

 

Any help I can get is always welcome once my own ideas are less vague
