Guest Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Hi, i have a stupid, configuration probably problem since forever, that i just can't seem to fix.Everytime and only once a day, when i start Skyrim through skse loader, steam also launches and after i choose to play offline, skyrim launcher starts, thus reseting my ini files. The weird thing is that this happens only if i restart my pc.If i exit skyrim and try to load again through skse, skyrim will launch regularly (through skse loader everytime).Probably, it's a steam configuration option but i can't seem to find it,and it's a pain in the ass that very time i want to play Skyrim for the first time everytime i start py pc, having to copy/paste my backed up ini files from desktop to my documents. Can anyone tell me the solution? Thanks!
blabba Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Set your .ini files to read only flag in windows (Right click -> Properties -> Read Only) This should prevent the whole skyrim launcher overwriting the ini settings. Sorry can't help you on the steam launcher thing, I just load skyrim through mod organizer now with the skse setting enabled and it takes me straight to game. (steam runs in background)

If you try and launch SKSE without steam already running it goes to the launcher, if you start steam first and let it load and then load SKSE it should work fine. Only time i've seen this happen is when i've been absent minded and not launched steam first.
Guest Grestorn Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 I've renamed SkyrimLauncher to something else to get it out of the way and then created a junction (basically a filesystem hard link) from skse_loader.exe to skyrimLauncher.exe. So whenever steam or anything else tries to start the launcher, the game itself is actually launched instead. To create a Junction you can use this: http://schinagl.priv.at/nt/hardlinkshellext/hardlinkshellext.html
