lynart Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 As topic states. I noticed some people are either very good at taking screenshots or are using a good combination of mods. I'm currently using ECE and SG Texture Renewal but cannot accomplish what a lot of the modders here can do. =( EDIT:I took advice from some of you, this is what I ended up with, let me know what you think. The face is a little too barbie like, any pointers on how to fix that?
cornbreadtm Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Son, let me me tell you a little story about ENB...
lynart Posted February 17, 2014 Author Posted February 17, 2014 Son, let me me tell you a little story about ENB... I have ENB http://i.imgur.com/ueexYGm.jpg Here are one of my attemps, she is ugly and I can't figure out why!
Cynical Misanthrope Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Here are one of my attemps, she is ugly and I can't figure out why! And that's when personal preference comes in. I think that character is extremely "attractive" So, what you may think is ugly, someone else may think the exact opposite. And vice versa.

I have ENB http://i.imgur.com/ueexYGm.jpg Here are one of my attemps, she is ugly and I can't figure out why! You definitely seem to have all the tools available to you. The rest is just your ability to move the various face parts into the shape that you find attractive. Personally, I think that face is too long and the nose needs some adjusting. (we're not chasing realism here) Here's a very messy photoshop of what I mean:

Keeping the bottom of the nose kinda' close to the upper lip and the mouth not too wide also appears more attractive most people.
Taskmaster Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Please just don't fall into "lookalikeitis" ~ Unique, is beauty, too.
Guest Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 I don't think she's ugly either, I like the longer nose personally it makes her face distinctive, it's reminiscent of Jennifer Aniston's and she's gorgeous. So keep that. If anything I'd say the eyes are just too high - drop those down a touch and I bet that would do it. I find a good idea when you can't figure out what's wrong is to leave it and come back a while later, especially if you've been at the sliders for an hour or more. When it's not fresh in your mind, that's when you can usually see what it is that seemed off and can correct it. The usual conventions of proportion will only get you to a fairly blandly attractive face in my view - I tend to make conventional looking toons and then spend my whole time with them, trying to make them distinctive in other ways.
dobmc Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 I think it all comes down to proportion. Of course the face matters to some degree, but characters never look more out of place than the face of a mature woman with a body of a teenager. Something like detective Conan, except horrible. Well, that's my preference so it might be different for you.

I do try to go away and come back to things...but then in less than 10 minutes, my eyes get confused. This must be how dyslexic people feel like >=(
