killer23012 Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 I select a checked off file, and press the "set as active file button", but after hitting ok it tells me I didn't set one ...is there something else I have to do?
myuhinny Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Did you double click the one that you want to set as active? If not just double click it so that the check mark appears in the box in front of it then hit the set as active.

Ark of Truth Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 What file are you trying to make active, what is it full name and extension?
bleagh Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 go here: http://www.creationkit.com/Main_Page and read up. Your mistake will become apparent.

Isn't that the page that just leads to a bunch of tutorials O_o? I was going to give that a read later but I want to make a quick NPC and reading those over would probably take a bit of time. I hope I don't come off as condescending but could I please just get the answer to this specific problem or maybe a video?
Veladarius Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 The CK will not modify an esm. You need to convert it to an esp, make your modifications and convert it back to an esm or make your modifications using another program such as TES5Edit if possible. Wrye Bash has options to do convert the files and I am sure there are other ways.
