HoneyCitrusTea Posted Sunday at 09:25 AM Posted Sunday at 09:25 AM Devious Blindfold Immersion View File Devious Blindfold Immersion makes slight adjustments to Devious Devices' blindfold settings for "immersion" (and loss of direction). (Disclosure: The code for this mod was mostly generated by AI, but I do program for a living so I'm not completely vibe-coding this.) Note that this mod replaces Devious Devices' scripts rather than implementing its own... The implementation is somewhat hacky so you have been warned! It works for me though? Current Features: Adds a new "Leeches + Dark Fog" mode which as it says, does both the leeches and dark fog effect at the same time. Great for feeling hopelessly stuck! Splits the leeches value into blur and tint values - for blur values over 1 (see below) the game could become unnecessarily dark even though it should mostly just blur. Blur can now be set from 0-5 instead of just 0-1 which provides significantly more blur, how this was implemented is basically black magic to me. Adds a toggle to lock the game in first-person if a blindfold is currently equipped, for that immersion factor. TODO: Add a toggle to lock the compass if a blindfold is currently equipped as well, or have it as a dropdown to integrate with the above first-person lock. TODO: Add a version check to see if the player is running different versions of DD / DD NG to notify them of potential incompatibilities. This is somewhat hacky by replacing the entire zadConfig.pex and zadBlindfoldEffect.pex files, so for DD / DD NG updates which change any of them... yeah. If anyone has any better suggestions for how to implement this (maybe hooking into zadBlindfoldEffect through a separate MCM or something) please let me know. Requirements - not tested on any other version, just keep that in mind I guess: Devious Devices SE 5.2.7 and its dependencies Devious Devices NG 0.4.3 and its dependencies This has only been tested on Special Edition v1.5.97! Please let me know with any feedback or suggestions! Submitter HoneyCitrusTea Submitted 10/11/26 Category Other Requirements Devious Devices SE, Devious Devices NG Regular Edition Compatible No Install Instructions Install like any other mod, enable the ESP and put after DD and DD NG.
Eltran Posted Sunday at 02:51 PM Posted Sunday at 02:51 PM Seems good Tested it on 1170, works for me Encountered a bug where if you try to open the map but a blindfold blocks map use, then the dark fog gets weird (although maybe it's not this mod's fault)
zaira Posted Sunday at 05:53 PM Posted Sunday at 05:53 PM (edited) DD NG has an open Git repository. I am wondering why you not simply raise a pull requests if you want to improve it. At some point of time you will run a race to keep compatibility with DD NG or you decide to fork. The DD NG team is open minded, you should give it a try and contribute rather than overwrite... I'm new to modding Skyrim (though I previously did some SE conversions back in 2023) but honestly didn't consider that for some reason. I'll open a PR once I have time and get that sorted out... Thanks for the advice. Frankly this started as an impulse more than anything else so my initial plan was just to hack something in for myself. 4
