Claynation01 Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Hey guys so i was wondering what is the general Consensus for starting a new game after you have re ordered mods in your load order, I know if you remove them then you have to especially scripted I usually just re install Skyrim when i do that to be sure, while my game is somewhat stable i do get crashes now and then but i think that's user error or just unstable mod i have installed but lately i have been trying thins in game then re ordering them while i have them in a current play through, i do all the necessary things before hand like tes5cleaning build bash patch i also re build that after re ordering mods i also checked out Want a CTD-Free and Blistering fast Skyrim game? Here you go and was wondering how helpful are the steve40's script fixes seeing as this is the first time i have heard of them Alright that's all thanks for listening. Peace
pinky6225 Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Not used steve40's scripts myself as i've also not heard of them, i did try the freemem mod mentioned here http://www.loverslab.com/topic/26653-might-get-me-banned-but-i-dont-really-care-why-almost-no-non-chinese-know-of-this-mod-freemem-12/ by asenasen though which seems to work really well. I did get all the unoffical patches... Unofficial Skyrim PatchUnofficial Dawnguard PatchUnofficial Hearthfire PatchUnofficial Dragonborn Patch Unofficial High Resolution Patch on the recommendation of another player which took a lot of the spam out of papyrus logs and again helped with stability
gvman3670 Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 I believe some of the script fixes are in the unofficial patches (but not all of them). Just reordering mods shouldn't cause any issues. But if you do have an urge to start over fresh be sure to wipe every last 0 and 1 from Skyrim from your machine then follow the instructions you found in that thread. And switch to MO if you haven't already, then you won't need to reinstall anyway.

judge0 Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 steve40's script fixes were released before version 2.0 of the Unofficial Patches, and are mostly included in the version 2.0 Unoffical Patches, installing them won't hurt, but is mostly redundant. The "noble bed fixes" are also included in the Unofficial Skyrim Patch, btw. One utility I highly recommend is OneTweak on the Nexus. Runs your game in fake fullscreen, fixes alt-tab issue, dual cursor bug and takes care of the facegen cache issue amongst other things. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/40706/? If you are trying to save your save games after removing a scripted mod, adding "ClearInvalidRegistrations=1" to skse.ini file will help to a certain extent and is a good thing to keep ruuning in any case. Skyrim does not have a "clean save" procedure like fallout & oblivion had, the best you can do is the above entry in skse.ini and waiting 30 days in an interior environment. There are mods out there that claim to "clean" savegames, and are for the more technically oriented users, if they work at all is debatable. Best practice is to start a new game with minimal mods active, clear the tutorial dungeon at Helgen and save a permanent save. Then load the mods you wish to play through with. Mod Organizer has a feature called profiles, which allow you run different mods, ini files and saves, just by switching profiles. Highly recommended if you don't mind the learning curve.
