Bluegunk Posted August 14 Posted August 14 (edited) Can anyone tell me why on earth poor Neiva (along with some other followers) enter this spin cycle? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYjMr9Utfvs Edited August 16 by Bluegunk
traison Posted August 14 Posted August 14 I would say that's actor collisions or navmesh snapping. There's an example in SL for how to get actors to behave and align. Which mod is doing that?
Bluegunk Posted August 14 Author Posted August 14 Hi Traison It's the ol' "Hug Me" mod from ancient times. It's never caused me this bother before at all, leaving me wondering what caused it. I've been trying Faster HTD settings, etc.
Gukahn Posted August 14 Posted August 14 (edited) This reminds me of how you can trigger the creepy floor guy.. She's glitching through something like Traison said. Does it happen a lot? If so are there any particular things that might be similiar to each case, like being outside or having an uneven ground? When a character suddenly changes their position level (Fucking language barrier.. As if they step on an bigger rock and ain't on your eyelevel no more), similiar things can happen that's why I am asking. Nothing to do with the question but your game would burn my pc to crisps.. So many physics.. Jealousy is a B.) Edited August 14 by Gukahn
Bluegunk Posted August 14 Author Posted August 14 Thanks. It's Neiva that's the worst. But she is shorter. But I've had that mod for years without this problem. I'm puzzled why it has suddenly started happening.

Pandora and/or behaviour file generators in general. 2 hours ago, Bluegunk said: It's the ol' "Hug Me" mod from ancient times. Inspecting it currently. Nothing obvious spotted so far except that the scripts are extremely simple.
traison Posted August 14 Posted August 14 (edited) There's no AI packages, no convoluted scripts or quests. All this thing does is call PlayIdleWithTarget and add a few dialogue options. I think what I'd do in this case is create a debug spell that I can cast on someone far away and have it call PlayIdleWithTarget. I'd be interested in seeing if this function will make the actors approach eachother before playing the idle, or if they will teleport to either actor. Cast the LL Debug Other Spell on someone far away and see what happens: If they walk to eachother before the IDLE, then your problem is most likely in the behaviour files or the AI packages this function applies to the NPC that's walking. The range of when the package completes might be far too short. MIC might be able to see the package, assuming it's not some hidden built-in thing. You can also rebuild behaviour files with FNIS and test again. If they teleport then unfortunately I do not know what the problem is. Edit: Some kind of script latency? Edit again: The ll_debug spell is broken. Missing the IDLE reference. Fixing... Edit again: Fixed. Turns out it helps a lot when you save your changes in xEdit before shipping the mod out. ll_debug.7z Edited August 14 by traison

Bluegunk Posted August 15 Author Posted August 15 Thanks. "LL Other" causes the player to slide swiftly into place before the hug animation. "LL Self" causes the player to rotate 180 degrees and nothing else happens! So if the first test is the "teleportation" then it looks like another source of the problem. My Elephant Latency tests are usually around 90-120.
traison Posted August 15 Posted August 15 The way my script is setup is to call PlayIdleWithTarget on the spell caster, with the Actor parameter set to the target. In other words, the callee slides to the Actor parameter: player slides to the NPC. In the hugging mod the callee is the speaker, and the Actor parameter is the player. Thus it makes sense that the NPC being hugged is the one jittering because that's the one doing the sliding. I would swap the Actor parameter and the callee around in the hugging mod, then the player slides to the NPC. hugMeQuestScript.pex
Bluegunk Posted August 15 Author Posted August 15 Thanks. I see no change in the behaviours. the player slides swiftly to Neiva and the hug occurs. No jittering, though.

Bluegunk Posted August 15 Author Posted August 15 (edited) Nothing else. On casting Other, player slides (not walks) swiftly to Neiva and they hug. No jittering, though. Edited August 15 by Bluegunk
