RayRecluse Posted August 1 Posted August 1 (edited) Redlight Protocol - New Trinity An adult RPG set in the city of New Trinity where drugs, sex, violence and depravity are common place. Story Set in a dystopian cyberpunk themed city, the story follows Raven, a net runner who until recently earned her living by taking low risk net running gigs. Redlight Protocol itself is the name of a rumoured tek-hack that can deliver the craziest highs. But is that all it is? Alongside the main story where we explore the emergence of the Redlight Protocol, there will be branching stories with varied side characters. These will allow the player to explore different fetishes whilst leading Raven to conquer or succumb to the dystopia she lives in. About Current & Planned Tags + Features Current Tags: BDSM, Petplay, Exhibitionism, George, Feet, Sex Toys, Slave, Male Domination, Corruption, Torture Planned Tags: Pregnancy, Prostitution, Rape, Masturbation, Humiliation, Inflation, Watersports Implemented Features & Systems Basic character slider customization Support for various character customization attachments like makeup, nail polish etc. Functioning Inventory with a wardrobe that acts as storage/preview High heel system that respects foot IK and animation state Custom quest system Custom dialogue system Combination of high fidelity bone driven character physics and soft body chaos physics depending on the situation. I also have a fully physically simulated animation mode for the character though it's use cases are limited, it can be fun for randomly posing or interacting with the character in certain scenes (whipping?) Planned Features & Systems: Interactions and quest tie-ins for: Milking, Pregnancy and Inflation. Inflation will be more of a passive consequence of sexual interactions initially. Pregnancy will be fairly straight forward and ending up to the point of birth, actual offspring are not planned. The main end point for pregnancy (birth) will have varied scenes depending on the situation/scenario and players current quest state. Milking will be somewhat involved with a branching story that revolves entirely around this. May also look into exploring de-humization leaning towards hucow related activities and modifications. Clothing dye system. Dynamic fluid system for character skin to allow for actual fluid build up like urine, sweat, water. All of these would then interact with each other allowing interactions like: Character pees which washes off cum etc. NPC recognition system which would tie into Ravens fame/infamy stat allowing for dynamic fame based interactions and harassment when out in the streets. Many more harassment events some with quest triggering consequences. Many more accessible locations around the city. I need these before I fully implement the expose/exhibitionist system. Additional vendors and named NPCs around the city including but not limited to; An augment Shop, Accessory Shop, Tool Shop, Clinic/Hospital (similar to a ripper doc), a club/brothel, an enforcer prison and separate penal island. Extended customization system for the player. The core gameplay is all about story and erotica with other RPG features blended in to immerse and arouse. I'm intending to use existing and new RPG mechanics to tie into different kinks. For example, a fully fleshed out inventory system with both clothing and accessories for customization but also things like bondage restraints. Some of my initial kinks and themes to explore will be: Corruption, George, Blackmail, BDSM, Voyeur, Exhibitionism I hope to explore various fetishes and kinks within the city of New Trinity, some very dark and some more familiar. But the ones listed are where I'll start. I know this is a bit vague in terms of gameplay so I'll just blindly list of a few things that I think will help provide some context. One of the core mechanics is currency. Raven needs credits to pay her rent, as well as to purchase clothing and other items. Earning credits will be how various side quests and interactions are approached. What Raven is willing to do to earn credits will evolve in the long term through story progression but also in the short term through arousal/cyber-influence. Some of the content I'm working on: George - A perverts maid quest Ne.Sluts.Net - A onlyfans-esque quest Pleasure District - Basically a prostitution/whore quest Drug Dealer - Fast credits, but risky, how long can Raven do this without consequence? Dark.Net - A quest where Raven earns credits by streaming erotic content in public Note that I call these quests but they will be ongoing side stories which lead back to and tie into the main quest involving the Redlight Protocol. Progress I'm currently working towards a 0.1 demo release which will include a small chunk of the initial story and introduction to a few of the branching stories and related characters. I'm 2-3 months out from a demo release at the most as of (05/07/2026) . Presently working on the writing and making any required changes/additions to facilitate the story/quests for the demo. The main purpose for this thread was just to test the water and see what people thought. And also getting some eyes on the development for those that may be interested. If I get some constructive feedback too I'll count that as a win I do post regular dev-log updates on my patreon which are available for everyone to see (except for the explicit stuff, because you know, patreon rules.) Last Words There's a lot I want to do with Redlight Protocol. And there's a lot that I've already done. I'm not great at writing out and explaining everything. I'm definitely on the spectrum . So to facilitate my lack of explanation. I'll post a bunch of images! Patreon Discord Some in game screenshots Edited September 10 by RayRecluse 5
RayRecluse Posted August 1 Author Posted August 1 (edited) I sadly put up this thread quite late in relation to some of my other development threads so I'll leave this fun little update here: Finished a set of animations for an initial scene during the demo. Edited August 28 by RayRecluse
RayRecluse Posted August 12 Author Posted August 12 Jiggle physics. We always want it. I already did it. What I forgot was the wiggle physics! Went through the effort of setting up my character skeleton early on to support various attachments that could wiggle but I forgot to add the physics! Done.
RayRecluse Posted August 17 Author Posted August 17 Synthaxis Labs frequently partners with the Bureau of Public Order, providing various enforcement and correctional equipment. One of their most revolutionary and morally gray machinations is the Synthaxis Penal Hound Correctional Suit, designed to “rehabilitate” hopeless criminals into beneficial members of society and provide support for on-the-ground enforcement personnel. 1
Player272 Posted August 17 Posted August 17 sound pretty good! When will we get the game version, and how is the price

I'm currently working towards releasing a demo, hopefully before the end of September. And my hope is to move over to full time development via Patreon support. So there will be free public releases monthly as I add content as well earlier paid releases via Patreon 😀
RayRecluse Posted August 22 Author Posted August 22 (edited) I've been doing some work on sliders for NPCs, ended up with a nice customization base that works for the player too. More eye candy on my discord/patreon because the previews are too big to upload! Edited August 22 by RayRecluse 1
RayRecluse Posted August 27 Author Posted August 27 (edited) I'm still chugging away at these initial quests for the demo. You think "yeah just 3 side quests with a decent bit of story for the demo, shouldn't take long", but nope. Lotsa issues and things. Started the landlord questline. Needed a toy shop for this as well as the landlord himself and his apartment. I also added trading with NPCs because why not. I'm looking forward to when I have a good amount of interior locations that the player can access from the city. Once I have those, the more exhibitionist-esque quest lines will be more viable as there will be places to hide and trigger unique interactions. Edited August 30 by RayRecluse 1
RayRecluse Posted August 30 Author Posted August 30 Continuing work on The Landlord questline. In case it wasn't obvious with my last update, it's basically a petplay/slavery themed quest. Naturally for something like this we need leashes! 2
RayRecluse Posted September 3 Author Posted September 3 The Landlord quest is progressing nicely. Had to add a few things specifically for it that I'm sure I will use later on too. A simple shock collar visual: A skinned mesh marking system and a simple mechanic for NPCs to make use of it on Raven. The animations need work but atleast its got a visual now. I also needed a scene. 2
RayRecluse Posted September 4 Author Posted September 4 (edited) The placeholder caning animations were bothering me a bit as they are used a lot in the early Land Lord quest so I gave them another pass. Edited September 4 by RayRecluse
RayRecluse Posted September 7 Author Posted September 7 Still very much on track for a pre-end of September demo release. Looked into UE5s control rig deformers in sequencer. Thought I'd see how useful they are so I tried them with one of the Landlord quest scenes. May be a bit hard to notice the feet deforming but I liked the tools enough to make room for these deformers in future scenes. Hoping to use them for all sorts of deformations. Also did a bit of UI work as I ran out of room in the profile screen for some of the newer stats.
RayRecluse Posted September 11 Author Posted September 11 As the demo release is only weeks away, I've put out an early access build for my patreon members to help test as well has provide any thoughts and feedback!
Tentacus Posted Saturday at 12:45 PM Posted Saturday at 12:45 PM This looks very promising. I'm surprised the thread isn't more lively but I guess since I just discovered it I can't say much. Having just finished watching the new GitS adaptation I am rather receptive for this. I Particularly like the leashed crawling bits. Can never have too much of that. I was working on a bondage heavy cyberpunk VN myself before I pivoted to making DLC for Legacy of Subjugation instead. Now not to be that guy... especially on this board... but can we get an AI disclosure, as I personally don't buy/follow anything that uses gen (Coding is fine... though I think long run you are doing yourself more harm than good relying on that stuff)?

I think it's just a bit quiet in this part of the forum 😆. On the AI front I totally get it. I actually started a poll over on F95 asking what people thought about AI gen specifically used for fan art. The majority are okay with it, in regards to this project, I only use generative AI for two things: Generating game fan-art either mostly for fun, and for concepting ideas or inspiration. Some of these I share on discord if I think they're particularly nice. And lastly to generate some in game imagery that's used in the background like erm billboards for adverts and such. These are generated with very lengthy prompts where I give the AI the context/lore/organisations and such for New Trinity so that they actually make sense. Outside of those two things, I do rely on ChatGPT for learning/speeding up my development process for typical stuff like "in UE5 how do I /insert question here" Edited Saturday at 12:54 PM by RayRecluse
RayRecluse Posted Saturday at 01:00 PM Author Posted Saturday at 01:00 PM (edited) Here's an example of what I used the AI gen for. I feel like it's a perfect use case for adding contextually accurate but generic things to the overall image and scenery. So those are all holo-graphic billboards, but the textures were made/refined using ChatGPT where I asked it to make a billboard for a specific company, advertising a specific product etc. I'm not really an artist but this allows me to get some really nice extra "feel" in the direction that I'm going for. In my opinion, being ai generated and resulting in that sort of "ai generated" look is unironically a perfect fit for what you might expect to see in a dystopian cyberpunk setting 😆 Edited Saturday at 01:05 PM by RayRecluse

Thanks for giving such an honest and detailed response. I appreciate it. For those of us who care about these issues navigating games on Itch and Patreon can be a bit tricky. I dunno if putting that poll on the piracy site is gonna give you the best picture about what paying customers who have ethics around these kind of issues think... but obviously you gotta do what you feel is right. I guarantee you, though it'll cost you a lot of sales if you ever wanna put it on Steam, the data on that is pretty clear. A lot of people bolt the second they see the disclosure. Few people have time or inclination to weigh the reasons and amount of AI. Just something to consider. Either way... Good luck. Edited Saturday at 01:11 PM by Tentacus

Ah I see your point. In the short and moderately long term, I didn't have any intention of putting this project on steam, purely because I want the flexibility to develop the content and features at my pace and also relying on things like AI to fill in the areas that I fall short. I really dislike the "heres a game but it's early access" thing. Fortunately, if I did get a good amount of support on Patreon for example, I could always redirect that into hiring an actual artist or similar to re-do a lot of things like this. Swapping them in editor is a trivial task. But I'm still starting out right now. Thanks for sharing your insight, it was something to consider. 😀 1

I am also not your current target audience as I don't personally enjoy the Patreon drip feed so you really don't need to give a fuck what I think. Anyway as I said... Looks really promising. Haha, I don't get that Patreon thing with other developers. I won't name any names but there some really good projects out there where they just stop developing anything substantial for months on end. It's crazy to me that they do that in the first place. There was one I really enjoyed, but I thought, "Ill wait and see how it looks later". I forgot about it, checked it out maybe a few weeks ago. It had been maybe 2 years? Since I last saw this project and it had one new event/scene. And the developer is still saying he's actively working on it to his supporters. 😐
RayRecluse Posted Sunday at 04:34 PM Author Posted Sunday at 04:34 PM With the early access demo build out there, I'm a little more conscious of performance and stability so I'm banging away at both. Lots of bug fixing and minor polish going on at the moment. But that's not fun to talk about or look at now is it? Here's a sneak peak at another scene.
RayRecluse Posted Tuesday at 03:47 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 03:47 PM Almost done with the last scene for the Landlord quest line that will be in the demo. There is also a poll regarding demo content available on Patreon.
_Helen_ Posted Tuesday at 03:56 PM Posted Tuesday at 03:56 PM (edited) (First of all, I apologize, but English is not my native language, so please be patient.😀) Hi @RayRecluse! Your game's proposal sounds very promising. I particularly love this type of game that involves themes with BDSM, slavery, submission, female player; and actually, it's a very narrow niche, and it's very hard to find games with that vibe. If the game you're developing really is all that you're promising, it will be a really awesome game with a lot of potential. I really hope you can do everything you envision and that you never give up on your work; we know it's a lot of work, especially if you're developing all of this alone. But I would love to know more about your game. As I said before, it's very hard to find a 3D game with these types of fetishes and this niche. The games I like most are Skyrim and Fallout 4, because they're the only games I know of where there is a large adult mod community with these types of fetishes. And honestly, I've already played practically all the mods that add this type of gameplay, and even so, I really miss a game of its own related to this audience. I'm very glad that people like you are producing games with this vibe, because it's very delicate to make a game like this, especially with many heavy and adult themes. Look, since I don't know anything about your game's story, or about what you really want to add to it, I'd like to give some suggestions for some themes/fetishes (which I particularly love) that you could work on, such as: latex, maid, ponygirl, petplay, slavery, catsuit, swimsuit, nylon, pvc, among others. There's a huge variety of themes you could involve in your quests. As I said before, I don't know anything about the game's story, so I just gave some suggestions for themes you could or could not explore (of course, I'd love it if there were something I mentioned), but I'd love to understand more about your game so I can give you some suggestions about the story and quests. Your game has a lot of potential, and I'm eager to be able to play this demo and give you feedback. (Notes: these are just my suggestions/opinions; feel free to disagree with them and question me.😋) Edited Tuesday at 03:57 PM by _Helen_ 1

(Notes: these are just my suggestions/opinions; feel free to disagree with them and question me.😋) Thanks for your kind words! I understand your confusion, I did sort of slap together my original post and information about the project without much thought and coherence. I will try and summarise the basic concepts and story that I am aiming for here: The main story revolves around our main character Raven. She's a sort of techy/net-runner mercenary who takes odd jobs that run on the border of being legal. Due to a mega corporation financial crisis, a lot of people like her are essentially out of work (this is based on my real life haha, dam games industry lay offs). So this is where we start the main story, Raven will need to find ways to earn a living. At the same time, there are rumours of a tek-hack (basically a drug) which people are using in New Trinity. This drug on the surface increases arousal and sexual pleasure, but in truth does something much more nefarious. During the main story, Raven will uncover what this tek hack (Redlight Protocol) is, what it does and who is behind it. The main story premise serves as a backdrop to allow me to explore fetishes and kinks via side stories that may or may not tie into the main story. The quests you will be able to start in the demo: - The Maid - A quest where Raven takes a job as a maid for a fat pervert. This quest has two branching story lines themed around Sugar Baby (doing sexual things for money) and Forced Drug use/corruption where Raven is given the Redlight Protocol drug and taken advantage of. - The Landlord - A quest where Raven gets *tricked* into becoming essentially a slave to her landlord who has a fetish for pet girls and disciplinarily BDSM. - ne.exhibit.net - A quest involving self exposure/exhibitionism. It starts off sort of like an only fans thing, she posts increasingly questionable content online and then this leads to more and more extreme requests. Eventually leading to exposure gameplay out in public. There are of course many other quests I want to work on, but these are the three I chose to start for the demo release. As an enjoyer of BDSM myself, I likely will be partial to including such themes and content in various different story lines. I hope this answers some of your questions ^ ^
