I am currently re-playing WH40K because of the 3rd DLC which came out last week. You are the one getting pissy because I had the temerity to challenge you assertion. IMO WH40K is better than BG3 but the point that was originally raised was about your assertion that BG3 had meaningful choices. I disagreed and cited WH40K as a game which was much better in this department. What a mature and measured response. Whether game A is better than game B is entirely subjective. The point of this thread would seem to be about choices in games. You gave BG3 as an example of a game which had meaningful choices and I disagreed citing WH40K RT as superior in that department. I can't see why that would be irrelevant or me asking for examples from BG3 would be poisoning anything. If you don't know why you should care about presenting evidence then maybe you should try growing up instead of behaving like a child and having a hissy-fit just because some one questioned your wisdom. The very first post you made was you completely shitting on my pick. On 6/20/2026 at 12:05 PM, Grey Cloud said: You jest, surely. BG3 is one of the most railroaded games of recent years. WH40K Rogue trader has choices with consequences. Nothing to do with game engine or anything technical then? I played BG3 with mods in EA. They were mods for making the game abide by DnD 5e rules rather than Larian's silly homebrew rules. And now you’re telling me to grow up? Wow. Also, I’m not going to present evidence for a stupid argument I don’t care about. Why would I? It doesn’t mean shit to me. Also, the fact that you’re telling me to grow up when you’re the one spewing insults and attacking my nationality is textbook hypocrisy. So, again. Get off this thread, and go back to your WH40k games. Nothing you say is going to change how wrong you are.
shrtjsrtj Posted June 22 Posted June 22 I like the railroading and wish there were more of it, one of if not the worst mistakes Bethesda made was listening to people who want more choices in their games. Some choices in how you handle certain quests is fine, but blocking parts of the sandbox out entirely(e.g. picking factions in FO4) when the draw to their games is the sandbox was a bad idea. Bethesda sucks at writing decent stories, so when they try to make meaningful choices you end up with their shitty writing and also miss out on content that could have been fun to play around with. Let me be the leader of all the guilds/factions, I don't play their games for the story.

Let's kill the hitman, read the message it's from Astrid and when we're at the Dark Brotherhood , Absolutely nothing happens. There's no mention of the attempt to kill us. In fact, they're even recruiting us . The not telling you part actually makes sense. What kind of killer would say 'sorry I tried to kill you; will you forgive me pweeeze?' If you're talking about a player dialogue option I'm sure it could use one not that it really matters since you are going to be killing the person who ordered your assassinations anyway. I'm sure at least Commander Maro would have given you some sympathy if it were programmed in. I think the key is getting a better writer but even then there are trillions of decisions one can make and no game can cover them all. Well TTRPGs are quite flexible. Things like Blades in the Dark, Daggerheart, Dungeon World, and some James Bond RPG that was discontinued. Oh and Dungeons and Dragons. Whatever. I know that GMs and DMs who are still people mind you are more flexible than game code.

You do not have any evidence. You just want to be able to make statements that you think make you sound intelligent and to not have them challenged. Unflavored Sardines Posted June 23 Posted June 23 "Your choices don't matter." Basically the ending of Legacy of the sith!
