LazyFollowers has a purple head.

I feel like this is elementary but I cannot for the life of me figure out WHY this is happening. Her sculpt (.nif) is correct, the preset (.json? the hair and eye color is tere) is correct, but the texture is missing. The .nif, .jslot, and .dds are inside the folder is requires me to put it in SKSE\Plugins\CharGen\Exported.

When I execute the command "skee preset-save gailsonfollower" my game CTDs but the .json is generated in SKSE\Plugins\LazyFollowers\LazyFollowersNPCs. The mcm menu LOOKS alright.

So what gives? I've used this mod before on a different install and it worked fine. I do like how straight forward LazyFollowers is but I wonder if there are other options for this like Proteus.

This isn't a new mod plus LL folks have always been more knowledgeable, well... usually.

I know it is not a new mod and whether it is new or not is irrelevant anyway. If you look at the mod's Nexus page the mod hasn't been updated since June 2022 and the author doesn't respond to posts. LL folks have always been more knowledgeable than to use such a mod . . . well usually.

And this still the LE section and you are posting about an SE mod.

or, using it for years without problems because it works. 🤔

there isn't anything wrong with the mod, well ok there are a LOt of things wrong with it but that face bug and the CTD are not one of them.  Unless it happens only because of the AE updates. Then I dunno.  I'm allergic to bullshit so I never went over 1.597

I am no CTD expert but it could be a external mod causing this. (I am using Lazy for years and never got this problem tho. Not much help from me in that regard.)

 

how are the 3 files named. They have to have the exact same name and other than  the Json file, the file typ shouldn't be written in the name either.

And the last thing you can check are if the preset you got that bug on might have textures baked in that are not existent anymore. Check the Racemenu makeup and overlay sliders for the head.

Maybe it is a thing with AE. I did run this mod a few years ago and I didn't have issues. The files are shown in the original post but yes they are named exactly the same, the .dds .nif .json and even .jslot. Just misses the facial skin texture it looks like. I also tried More informative console like traison suggested in my SE post but that mod is even more difficult to use for me, maybe i have something wrong with my UI but I can't a lot of the stuff I was supposed to see (according to what Traison said and the mod screenshots showed me) even with all the requirements and everything. I'm currently using proteus for it but that is buggy as hell in it's own right.
