Aki K Posted May 17 Posted May 17 (edited) Hello. Trying to install skyrim on my new machine. It's my most powerful computer I've had yet because I can finally afford a proper gaming PC. But I've encountered some strange issues. There are ZERO mods installed. Right now it is just the game (LE version as is my preference). My issues are: 1. Inability to get the game to take up the entire screen in windowed mode. It takes up most of the screen but there's still a thin border. This is despite running BethINI and setting it to the screen resolution. 2. If I set the game to fullscreen, the video freezes at startup (but the audio continues to play as normal). 3. My computer won't stop bitching about MS Gameoverlat/MS Gamebar every time I start the game. (This is true for most of my games). Please pardon spelling errors. New keyboard. Edited May 17 by Aki K

To display windowed programs in full screen, I use the program linked below. I use it for The Sims 3 because otherwise, with my AMD graphics card, the full screen is far too dark and overly saturated. But I'm sure there's another way to solve this problem. I hope Steam/Skyrim isn't installed in C:/Program Files. Link

And I could swear there was a way to have a windowed version be full screen just by using the right ini settings. I just can't recall.
Kastagir Posted May 30 Posted May 30 In LE, you can force windowed mode fullscreen without any additional programs. SkyrimPrefs.ini: [Display] bFull Screen=0 iSize H=1080 (set this to your native resolution height) iSize W=1920 (set this to your native resolution width) enblocal.ini: [WINDOW] ForceBorderless=true ForceBorderlessFullscreen=true
Kastagir Posted May 30 Posted May 30 (edited) If you're still getting a border or if you're trying to use a resolution (iSize) that doesn't match your native resolution you can use something like Simple Runtime Window Editor to force any application to take up the full screen (or force it into a window of any size, any position on the screen, etc.): https://github.com/dtgDTGdtg/SRWE On 5/17/2026 at 10:25 AM, Aki K said: 3. Windows-I for settings, Gaming, and toggle the Game Bar off. Edited May 30 by Kastagir

Windows-I for settings, Gaming, and toggle the Game Bar off. It is off. The error still comes up. Fixed the border issue. The ini edits weren't working (but helped a lot). Installing onetweak fixed the rest.
