Wolfe6900 Posted March 22 Posted March 22 I'm A Nobody View File I'm a Nobody: "The balcony! Get the fuck out, woman! We're fighting raiders—not babysittin' you!" - Preston (Museum Intro) "You willing to do some work... or just here to complain like Marcy?" - Sturges "Just make sure we can sleep with a roof over our heads. Go flirt or beg some guy to slap some beds together." - Sturges (Sanctuary) Ever get tired of just walking through Concord and automatically given 'God Status' by the Minutemen? Would you like to feel like just another survivor trying to make it through? Then this is the mod for you! Rather if you're trying to role-play a more Survival themed fallout world or have a good laugh, this mod can provide both. I'm a Nobody is a simplistic mod that does 2 things: 1. Adds more Minutemen to aid Preston and his team in the fight at the Museum. 2. Changes dialogue so that the female protagonist is seen more as 'Just another mouth to feed' rather than their savior. This changes the dialogue of Preston & Sturges in the 'When Freedom Calls' and initial set up of Sanctuary. You're seen as some dumb, stereotypical woman that can't fight, build or do anything. All lines are Fully Voiced, however, the .lip files are a little off so their lip animations may not sit perfectly. Additionally, I didn't change the actual text of what they say; this is just audio changes. WARNING: This is a sexist mod and they will treat you as you're pretty well worthless. More details: - You walk into Concord and see the Minutemen actively defeating the raiders. - You decide to walk in to the Museum of Freedom where they are still battling with the raiders. - You knock off a few raiders in assistance. - You talk to Preston & Sturges. They don't want you to tag along because they want fighters and useful people to their cause. They see you as another nagging woman like Marcy that has no value other than maybe something to fuck, farm or use for scavenging. - Instead of telling you to find Power Armor and help, they direct you to scavenge ammo, so the men can keep fighting. - You get the Power Core, the Power Armor and assist in eliminating the rest of the raiders and Deathclaw. - When you return to Preston, he will now allow you to tag along due to the fact that he lost so many men, and you seem willing to actually pick up a weapon and fight. Although you didn't do much, and they still don't find you very useful, they will now 'tolerate' you. - You enter Sanctuary to where Preston & Sturges give you tasks. Instead of Sturges telling you to 'build beds' and do things like that, his responses will be more aimed towards having a man build it for you or something. - In Sanctuary, Preston won't give you repetitive tasks to save settlements. Instead, he'll direct towards more of you being a messenger to gather/rally men for him. Although you did help stop the Deathclaw, he still doesn't see you as an able fighter and pins the success on his men that died. You were kind of just there to shoot a few shots and help out. Krazyone Posted March 22 Posted March 22 (edited) No God-Tier dialogue from lazy Preston Garvey... I'd love to also see a 100% Receptionist play-through, if a Receptionist can do it, you can do it. Otherwise... you can't do it. Edited March 22 by Krazyone
vjnmrf Posted March 22 Posted March 22 The idea is certainly wonderful, but it needs further development. Why only the Minutemen? As for the other settlements, well done for helping, but now you can stay out of their way and just pick up trash and suck dicks. So, no character-driven construction; settlers develop their own habitats (hello, SS2). Basically, Nuka-Ride and Triggerwoman are doing something similar locally. 7
jlab7788 Posted March 22 Posted March 22 (edited) Very interesting! How complete is this mod? Is the female protagonist still promoted to Minutemen General? Edited March 22 by jlab7788
Wolve03 Posted March 23 Posted March 23 I am gonna follow this closely. The idea has merit and as others have also indicated with mods like NR and Triggerwoman, it makes for a much grittier game. Thanks for this mod! 3

It only deals with the first quest and some of the radiant's Preston gives you. I wanted to make it since I'm constantly restarting the game with new mod setups and you have to do When Freedom Calls for it to progress enough for you to work on settlements. 1

The way Fallout 4 deals with voice files is each voicetype, i.e., NPCMPrestonGarvey has a bunch of different .wavs (or .fuz) inside that the game pulls from, i.e., 00000001_1, 00000002_1 etc. If any other mod has the same 00000001_1.wav, then one will overwrite the other. I probably won't make too many more updates unless it draws a lot of attention since I'm focused on other mods/programs at the same time. This is more just of a quick fix to keep it from feeling the same everytime you do that repetitive 'When Freedom Calls' quest so you can start building Settlements. It kind of helps with it on Survival Mode as well.
redreno Posted March 23 Posted March 23 hi, i really love the mod and i'm kind of need a dire help from you, i installed diamond city expansion and it seems that DCE and Pervert is incompatible since both edit diamond city, is there any patch to make this two great mod works?? thank you
4nln415 Posted March 24 Posted March 24 (edited) I think it offers a good start for an "I am not the drangonborn" non/limited violence playthrough. I suppose you can start slow and do this chapter by chapter by linking up the other settlements first (including Thicket Excavation for a grand betrayal), and then find a way to deal with Corvega raiders or sneak past them (removing them would make the world too safe and probably not plausible realistically for Preston). That would b a good start for someone who wants to live around the top left area. I mean you still need things to do or being told what to do. You could also make it progressively tie-in with your other mod to populate Concord but right after Freedom Call would be too soon imo (Kinda reminds me of RDR2 Chapter 1). It would gather more interest if there are more content since most people's other quick fix is just to avoid it entirely Edited March 24 by 4nln415 2

It kind of helps with it on Survival Mode as well. I have started* 2 survival playthroughs with Commonwealth Slavers. By the end of that chain, the PC is mentally broken, terrified of raiders (through SA and others) and addicted to drugs. So, it makes perfect sense for Preston to think of her as just another mouth to feed, rather than the General. Goes well with a couple of other mods which make the Commonwealth much more dangerous (snipers on roofs, raider patrols, raider pet, etc.) ... so I feel that the Pc has to adapt, survive, find her courage and build up her strength before she can find and rescue Shawn. Makes for a better hero story than being handed everything to them as a typical hero fantasy. I am also using mods and player traits which removes weapon recoil compensation, or gives the PC other debuffs (like "4 eyes" ... -perception unless wearing glasses ... Nora was a lawyer, not a fighter). Edited March 24 by Wolve03 spelling 1
vaultbait Posted March 24 Posted March 24 This is great and I love the new voice lines. Is it expected that the subtitles don't match and still have the old dialogue though? Or is it just a mistake on my end?

Yeah, the subtitles aren't going to match since that'd involve manipulating each line in the CK which would take a lot of time when there's 3000+ lines of dialogue for Preston

wbzdwss Posted March 25 Posted March 25 (edited) Great potential mod. It would be perfect if it could work with the AFF, like POS. Edited March 25 by wbzdwss
Wolfe6900 Posted March 25 Author Posted March 25 Update on this: I've just created an expansion that reworks 100% of Preston & Sturges dialogues. I'll need to find a way to upload as it sits at 700MB. Maybe break it into 3 parts with LL's current upload limits... 2

The typical sound plays from, i.e., Sturges as: \Fallout 4\Data\Sound\voice\Fallout4.esm\NPCMSturges\{File.wav} Of course, Bethesda compacts these to .ba2 files and compresses them to a .fuz format, but if extracted that's the path it would be. This mod just replaces those files. If removed, Fallout will automatically find the .ba2 files and play those as normal again. If there's any conflicts, just let whatever mod you want overwrite the other.

I use Yakitori to change them to .wav but never thought about changing it back. Good catch.

Aaccounttogetmods Posted March 28 Posted March 28 This is very interesting. It always annoyed me that you get promoted right to General after doing one mission for the minutemen. And how Prestonand the others treat you, a vault dweller fresh from out of the freezer, as the best hope they have. Downloaded & bookmarked for potential future updates. 3
