But it was a .pac file and i wasn't able to rewite a .pac file for my modified .obj file. I will try another way for that or wait new tools. And thank you again The way things are atm, I don't think we can actually do anything model related. Neither crimson forge nor Model browser come with armature and weights so even if we could get a custom model ingame it would be just a static mesh. Still, the community is working fast on this one so hopefully this will change soon

Can't add or delete new vertices without the mesh freaking out, but I can sculpt the mesh in Blender and see changes in-game. Re-import isn't perfect (some vertices stretched) but it's mostly accurate. But yeah this is great progress since it's only been two weeks. Since pam is further along than pac right now, maybe we could do lewd statues in the meantime like PSBosses stuff for Skyrim. 2

So can't add or delete vertices to mesh, but can modify it's positions (for static meshes). Textures can be modified too. That is something to work with. I hope finding the skeleton for the non-static meshes doesn't take too long. 2
darsig Posted April 3 Posted April 3 (edited) Hi all. Ppl some1 can tell what to add to xml to hide any armor visibility for Damiane when it equiped? I'm using this mod : https://www.nexusmods.com/crimsondesert/mods/170 with Crimson Browser I know there is mod https://www.nexusmods.com/crimsondesert/mods/554 already, but it is buggy and ... why loading additional dll's into game when ( I think ) we simply can edit (add) variables in xml replacing armor mesh path with nbody? Siev007 Posted April 3 Posted April 3 This person managed to create a custom tattoo for Cliff, and I think that they dropped a tool to make your own tattoo. Shouldn't we be able to make some lewd tattoos for Damiane with this? https://www.nexusmods.com/crimsondesert/mods/615?tab=posts 2
YukiJudai Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Do you think the game will reach the level of Skyrim and Fallout 4 in terms of +18 mods, or is that a hope not worth nurturing? 1

Right now modders cant even edit meshes let alone animations. Pearl Abyss have their own in house engine and they would have to give modders access to a good chunk of that engine (modding tools) in order for them to be able to create more complex mods. Wont happen Edited April 3 by Garrus889 2

I guess you can shoot for the sun and hopefuly land on the moon. In other words. No way. Maybe, some day, we'll get some official tools, but that day ain't close. Even when it comes, the community isn't nearly as big for this game.

Regarding the community size on PC, Crimson Desert had an all-time-peak of 276,261 players one week after launch, only around 10,000 less than Skyrim's all-time-peak of 287,411 (on launch day). CD was also popular enough to have multiple talented modders successfully reverse-engineer large parts of the proprietary engine with no modding tools only 2 weeks after launch. This game also provides a much stronger base gameplay experience than Skyrim and imo even ultra-modded Skyrim couldn't deliver an experience like this without feeling like Skyrim under-the-hood. I think with official modding tools, this game could be the next Skyrim (highly-modded open-world medieval fantasy game) and from Will Powers' and the Pearl Abyss director's comments, it sounds like they know this too. If they just give us mesh modding tools first (like CDPR did with Witcher 3 a few months after launch), we can already have a lot of fun and hopefully we can get a proper mod kit with more features later. Highly unlikely considering that their engine makes Unreal look like a piece of turd. They would be beyond stupid to give away their secrets to the competition 1

Wasnt expecting that, happy to be wrong here! I was thinking a about all the copies sold and resold over the years and biggest modding community on any game for fallout and skyrim. If we get a 20% of the enthusiasm modders got for skyrim into crimson desert... Oh gosh I wish, and it seems it might be and even more. Thanks for the correction 1

daijobu Posted April 4 Posted April 4 2 hours ago, axellslade said: What are you on about dude? The heck... i mean, he's not wrong? PA spent a small fortune on this new engine, and they are by nature a company that's very heavy on monetization. Even if they don't end up releasing a bunch of DLCs for this game, they will for their next MMO which will obviously also be running on this engine. and giving away a bunch of source codes to modders this early into their engine's life span just makes no sense. I mean, I would love nothing more than this company becoming the next Bethesda by adopting modding support into their company's DNA, but we also have to be realistic here.
Garrus889 Posted April 4 Posted April 4 3 hours ago, axellslade said: What are you on about dude? The heck... he is not wrong. Black Desert Online, an MMO is from the same devs and runs on the same engine. What do you think will happen with that game if everybody get access to a good portion of the dev tools?

axellslade Posted April 5 Posted April 5 People already mod the fuck out of Black Desert Online with their own developed tools. There's a metric ton of nude mods for it already. Again: what's the fuss about?

They mod visual stuff. That's all client side, its on your screen after all =P Every gacha game has nude mods now and so do most MMO games too. 4

It is unlikely they will develop any more MMOS, it is more likely they release another single player game like Crimson Desert. Also we already mod Black Desert, and there are private servers (Like Melissia) The MMO market is dead which is why they shifted. Gacha games took over the MMO market.

I mean that would be amazing, but I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that they are making the sequel to Black Desert using this engine already. Wouldn't a MMO still be way more profitable compared to a single player game even if it were less so than gacha?
