Warning: Beware the March 17 patch

the fact that CC and not just script mods have been effected screams that this is from their crappy 'marketplace' scheme. Wouldn't surprise me if a 'check' they've put into the game has been false-flagging free mods as 'paid content you don't own'.

Welp, they did release an update just now, but it's not even booting up on my part anymore as long as I have mods turned on.
I tried turning off script mods just to see if those are the issue, but nothing changed.

Hope this is just one of my mods acting up so I can eventually sort it out via 50/50 method and some eventual updates, definitely feels more like how previous updates broke mods in the game now.

EDIT: Yup, must be something on my part. Loading it up with just one mod works. I can see the custom content ingame, and my sims can interact with stuff again.

Guess I'll have to just sort out my directory again soon

Multiple players are going online to report that after today's patch, most of their mods and CC have disappeared from the game, even after turning them back on in the settings. Best to play offline for a while.

Mine is still broken after yesterday's patch, worked for a little while last night, I don't know why, but this morning, Failure to launch online mode, won't even load offline mode.

The only mods I have are WW, WP, and BD, and of course some CC.

Did you delete your old Resource file from your mod folder? Everything works fine for me after getting rid of that. The autonomous Mischief bug seems to have been squashed quietly, as well.

Yes, I've done that everytime, seems hit or miss now, depending on how much CC I load up it seems like, I'm not quite sure about that.  It all loaded fine before the patch.....

Mine works well now.

Interestingly, I have found my Sentate CC was unaffected, while my Madlen's CC did not work. Madlen is part of the Sims Makers Program, Sentate is not. My guess is that this was a buggy anti-piracy system acting up and disabling content from the Sims Makers.

Just my guess though, more data would have been needed. It all works now, so there's no way to find out.

I take it this crisis is over now?

Yes, EA had to release another hotfix after they realized the advice they were giving to people to fix their games wasn't working for everyone.

As usual, you may have to sort out or update some outdated mods now.

That would be nice, if they didn't lock up your game if you stay of line to long. Requiring you to log back into their system to start the game again. Can someone please tell me why they have to update the system so often. I really don't see what value it adds to the game. I DO SEE WHAT A PAIN IT IS FOR EVERYONE WHO PLAYS IT. Sorry had to get the trump out of my system. Last time I checked this a free country and we still have our civil liberties ( untill trumpy takes them away). If enough people got together and maybe boycott buying anymore packs. They might get the message. I mean they already have most of our money already. Do we have to give it all to them?

I feel you. Seems like they push out so many patches, sometimes you're just tempted to say, "screw this, it can't be that bad."

How can you stay offline for a year. If you could explain this to me, you would be my Hero!

I dunno about a year. Probably the longest I've gone is a month, maybe six weeks. I can say this story some people have told of being forced to update has never happened to me.
