Tails/Ears with physics inertia

Max costs a shitload of money only if you are going to use it for commertial propouses.

 

The student version has THE SAME stuff but leave a "Watermark" on your files.

 

So I just lie about being a student? not sure about the legality of that...

having trouble with "infinite movement"... need to set up cone and twist properly (unintuative names) twist = up and down, cone = left and right

 

 

Depends on your school, if you arent part of one, sorry then. The other way would be to ask for a licence to someone, Max has a "Licence Borrowind" system, but of course, you need to find someone willing to borrow you a license which is kinda... impossible.

 

If twist value means up and down for you, its because the pivot of your constraint is wrongly aligned.

Which version of HDT should I be using to test your tail?

 

With tail v0.4 and HDT v2-28-2014 (most recent version) the tail doesn't fall it just kinda floats there. Also when I walk the end of the tail moves much slower than my character walks so the tail stretches out and then goes crazy till the end catches up. Is this expected for the current version of the tail?

I use V10-24 - stable, after issues with other releases I slowly went back to 10-24 and have been using it for a while now.

Cant tell you without seeying the issue, but I could bet my head that the first rigid body of your tail is penetrating the pelvis collision.

i would expect a much more...spazzy... reaction from it if that was the case, its more of a infinite rocking side to side. might be linked to the other issue.

I'm away from here because i have not much time recently, and my Skyrim started it's crash sequence again. No point to test things with unstable game.

So I installed this mod. I tried it out on my Khajiit and my Ohmes Raht Race mod. On the Khajiit it stretches out like a tape measure whenever I move and when I stop it slowly retracts. It also has really slow physics. On the Ohmes Raht it is just a skeleton problem as the tail is completely straight and I can fix that. I imagine it will then still have the same problem as the Original Khajiit. I'm using the current release of HDT as I've had the best results with that and the Hair Physics (Which won't work with 10-24)  and I think you might have things set for an older version. Any advice?

 

Have you tried 14-28? It fixed the issues that the releases after 10-24 were having I feel.

yeah that's due to me using 10-24 when I made this, from my understanding other version change the numbers for reasons unknown so every value is wrong in other versions.

 

you could try finding the math and change the values to whet they need to be or wait for me to bother chane versions, get back into skyrim and get back into modding.

And while we wait, my female Khajits will stay with the tail "hard" (forgot to bkp the femalekhajit).

Hey, i didnt said anithyng, I just said that i will have to wait for the updated version because i forgot to make a backupt of my femalkhajit and while i wait the female khajits will have to be this way.   I just tried to make us laugh a little. (feedback is there alredy). I am using the 14-28, not the stable version. 

Dont get me wrong, i am not saying is your fault or anything like this, i am making fun of myself because i forgot to make a backup...

If that's all you want than delete my files, skyrim will use default ones that are stored in archives.

 

I have no reason to update this or HDT as i have no way of studying results other than "tweak and hope" and that's no way to work. The newer version bring nothing useful yet either (that i know of as i have never had issues with HDT). all they do is add new complications, so for now its staying as it is.

 

My post was a request for some useful / constructive feedback, i guess my subtle "please pat me on the back in hopes of getting me back to work" dident work... too bad...

 

Maybe if/when JFF gets some updates (here is more hopes for a "preview of shape/function") ill be able to finish this.

But for now ill continue to attempt to help people on HDT forums from time to time.

Oh, i didnt know that i could delete the femalekhajit, well thanks. Dont worry, i dont have rush, i dont play much as khajit, my main is a Dark Elf. (although i am really wishing to play as a pure thief). I use the 14-28 because i use the Merilda Hair and it doesnt work with the stable version. If i knew anything for moding (CK, HDT, or anything) i would try something, but i am too lazy to learn (also i dont have a lot of time to learn). But, i can say to things, with your "mod" the tail appear to be stuck at a point when i walk and go crazy al over the place. When i stop, the tail slowly goes back to normal and work if dont move. But, for what i can see, the problem appear to be on the floor, not in the tail (i can be wrong and i think i am). Aside that, is seems a good mod (and something i think, why the hell bethesda didnt put this in the game from the start?)

 

If i can help in anything more, (screenshot or video).

Well, i tried these and the v3 and v4 looked pretty good, until the pc/npc moved, then it was a looooooooong ribbon of tail behind them. :P

 

i was using the 10-24 version. i also play the eiries ohmes-raht race, so really really hoping you feel the "fix it" vibe.  I think this could be a great as the hair physics we're getting.  :)

you best bet would be to download THIS mod and use on of its tails, should fix it.

Odd thing, is that that's the mod that does the streaming ribbon effect, is the Mystic Tails mod.  I cannot get the Eiries Ohmes-Raht tail to have any noticable change.  I put your femaletailkhajiit.nif in the same folder where the other meshes for Eiries Ohmes-Raht race are installed, but that has no effect.  You've probably forgotten more than i will ever know about xml files, so i dare not tinker with those.

If you use mystic tails you would not need to move the files anywhere, the mystic tail would use the correct files.

 

 

With the correct HDT version, my files and mystic tails there's only 1 other thing that could be the issue and that is the skeleton.

 

Install Groovtamas skeleton (remember custom races have separate file  structures so you need to copy the skeleton's to the correct places.)

i've been using the groovetama skelly for a while now.   I just tried this with the 10-24 and the 12-29 hdt versions, both with and without the mystic tails equipped on my eiries ohmes-raht.  No change. I'm also using Yoo's hair mod, so i know i've got the HDT installed correctly.

 

I also know i have that the groovetama skeleton installed correctly because the default ohmes-raht skeleton uses the vanilla quiver positions, whereas groovetama's uses the quiver-across-the-ass position.

 

Again, using mystic tails on random followers = streaming ribbon tails.  Using mystic tails on my ohmes-raht = no change.

 

 

I do appreciate your efforts with this mod.  Perhaps someday every khajiit and khajiit hybrid will have tail physics. :)

If what you are saying is true, than there is no reason for this mod not to work. it's verry basic and is made non-incompatible via the use of mystic tails.

 

 

scratch that you should check you log file. it would tell you everything you need to know... stupid brain giving up so quickly...

 

 

if you don't understand it post it here ill explain it to you.

ahh, that explain more than enough. you are not loading a single one of my files, NOTHING. there could be a few reasons for this but the main one would be windows permissions,unblock my archive re-extract the files and try re-installing it than.

 

While I'm using 3d Max 2014/2012 myself is there a way I could gift you the license of the 2011/2010 version?

I have no idea, sorry. i think Yoo or Blabba might.

Mod Organizer shows your Floor.xm, HDTTail.xml, and Legs.xml in the SKSE Plugins folder with the other HDT plugins, so i'm not sure what you mean about unblocking them.

 

Also, when i put a Mystic Tail on a follower, they work fine, but when i give them a tail with your mod loaded, they get the streaming ribbon tail effect, so something is happening. Though i obviously have no idea why nothing would show up in the log.

 

EDIT: It must be a race issue. Your mod is racist. :P

 

I changed race to Breton and the tail worked fine, albeit a bit loose, (like an airport windsock in a breeze), but it didn't stream along behind.

Now, to tinker with my preferred Eiries Ohmes-Raht race.  Would really love to get physics to work on that tail. 
 
EDIT II:  I don't know how tails work, but the vanilla tail is very stiff, like it only has a few very long bones, whereas your mod seems to remove the tail bones entirely.  Again, that's just how it appears, i have no idea if the tail actually has bone or not.

Heres how to unblock files: (Copy from an old guide i was templates)

 

Unblock downloaded mods on Windows to help fight any unwanted errors:

 

 

  • Download any wanted mod
  • Right click the file after it has finished downloading
  • Click Properties
  • Click "Unblock" next to security
  • Apply -> Ok
  • Now install like usual

 

 

 

The information from the log says that that none of the Xml's are being loaded here's what should be there:

If this doesn't fix it its that unknown unfixable ignorant bug that 1/5 of people who attempt to mod get.
