[Mod][XCL] [0.25.3] X-Fans

I am on the newest build and seeing errors calling for macros. It worked for a bit and now I see these errors.

Since my last edit of the original comment, I've noticed that the lag happens randomly. It can happen both on init or on every navigation, gender-neutral, time-dependent and so on... one time, I entered in direct free-roam, clicked on x-fans and it lagged on every click. Took a shower, went back and it stopped lagging. I'll try sometime in the future to disable the drug framework mod and it's dependents and see if that fixes the issue.

I'll have a look and get back to you. I did a 180 day play test with X-Fans and never had any lag, loadtimes of sub 1 second on tabs and only 1.5 seconds on sleep, so I don't think its X-Fans itself

I found it seems to conflict with Summer Farms. I removed Summer Farms and the UI of X-Fans fixed itself. 

Ah it isn't the Summer Farms mod. It is something else.

at start everything works fine, but as soon as i film something with an npc this happens

I am having the same issue, and I don't have Summer Farms in my mod list. Everything seems to be working and then I log in and every section has the macro error. No feed, no creators, no uploads. I also sometimes get the same macro after finishing an encounter with a BB, even if I've successfully recorded that BB before. The in-game day before these pictures everything was working correctly and I was able to set up a collab, following which these errors occurred.  EDIT: After quitting and restarting the game, I did the exact same thing, except no macro errors occurred, and everything worked as they should. No changes were made to the mod list

A couple of people have had the same issue on Discord, the issue seems to be running this mod on game version 0.25 rather than 0.25.1, as it fixed it for them.

If you could try upgrading to 0.25.1 and letting me know if its sorted, no idea if it sorts it in current saves or not, if you're already on 0.25.1 let me know, as I've not been able to replicate this locally on 2.0.0 on 0.25.1

Downloading it right now. BTW: if this fixes the issue, maybe you could put 0.25.1 in the metadata? so that the mod manager would show it needs that version as minumum

I thought I had, I'll make sure thats in place for 2.0.1 which is coming soon, just validating the last few modded bar girls

I can confirm the issue goes away with XCL 0.25.1

Was able to film and upload a scene with a bar girl, running with all my other installed mods.

Where do I download XCL 0.25.1? The link on the X-Change post only takes me to 0.25.0 on Mega Drive.

Hello. The lag persists even after the update, and since nobody else complained about it, I guess there's really a mod compatibility issue. As for the aforementioned purple girl, it's actually the feminist test, part of standard XCL (\img\scenes\npcs\02 feminist test).

I've managed to narrow down the lag trigger mostly to the transformation reluctance. It happens either if I change in a day to a female body and then in the evening I access x-fans, or if I do the girl training minigame before. Either way, progressing to the next day clears whatever is introducing the lag so if I'm careful to go onto x-fans in the morning if I plan to transform or before doing the minigame, I am golden. I'm not sure, but I really think it's due to Drug Framework DF4 mod - I don't think there's anything you can do on your end to avoid it.

Either way, nice QoL features, especially about the amount of girls on x-fans (having 4 guys and 2 girls on a porn site seemed... off).

 

I haven't managed to get stepdad to subscribe like in the previous version. Either RNJesus isn't with me, or you changed the trigger

I also have an observation, if you take a few videos without uploading it, the Upload tab (basically, the Pending Content section) becomes laggy. I think this is because of the ~25 videos per uploadable content, that the browser tries to play all at once. My suggestion: Do a drop-down list of selectable videos for the lead clip, default closed (would help with performance). Also, maybe you should do a "does this video even exist?" check for the videos, as for a lot of cases there are nonexistent videoclips in the selection.

I think I have a fix for the lag issue at least once source of it, X-Fans probes for bar girl media either for donation to male creators or for the girls themselves, if XCL is ran from the file it fails to serve those requests and it can cause issues. So hopefully that will fix the lag issue for you, I'm just waiting to hear back from some testers who were also having lag issues to confirm.

Yeah I think the upload tab lag really depends on system performance, especially the disc its loading media from as well as your GPU or accelerated graphics performance. As for non-existant videos thats a new report to me, I've had reports of people saying its recording more than it should be which is fixed with 2.0.1 but I've not heard of non-existant clips. Are you talking about black boxes where the video clip should be? If so thats because the media didn't load in time on render so it leaves a black box instead of starting the autoplay.

Not sure the dropdown is the best way of dealing with it, as from what I understand you're suggesting it would still need to load the media on render unless that was another passage that rendered but it would still cause a performance hit. 

I will think of a way to improve the performance here the best I can.

If I try to change framing, it causes the game to hang considerably when going to sleep and changing over for the next day. If I do it to more than one post in X-Fans, it doesn't change over at all, just continues to hang on the ZZZ or whatever page.

I should note, that if you do the default framing it goes to the next day just fine. Although, I'm still noticing some lag after the most recent update.

I tested this on my side and couldn't replicate any hang or lag at all. Do you have any other mods installed? Does it happen only when you upload certain types of videos? Are you on 0.25.1? Are you running it on a web browser, desktop app or Android App? Is it any specific framing or any of them? 

IF you could also provide your save file that would be of great help to diagnose this further as well

Ive been getting the same issue, starts out fine but gets progressively worse as viewership & popularity increases to the point that ending the night can take over 5 minutes to load if it doesn't straight up crash the web page.

Not saying the lag isn't being caused by X-Fans but I can see that there are a few mods in there that are outdated, including X-Fans, X-Fans has had two patches since the version you're suing, both aiming at improving stability and performance, you'll also want to update Neon Desires and Summer City Farms as well. Also I can't vouch for how well the repeatable prison contest works on 0.25.1 Aphrodite is merging it into the base game so its not getting any future updates.

An observation about the BarGirl content. The NPCs keep posting pregnancy content, even though they are not pregnant (the lactation content is not really a problem since there are pills/side effects that can cause lactation in game, I assume such things exists for the females too in universe). The pregnancy content tag should only happen, if the creator is actually pregnant (and then it should be ON while she is pregnant, as an added tag). I think while the BarGirl is not pregnant, it should have an assigned theme based on her traits (maybe two or three) and go with it (eg. submissive, dominant, creampie, swallowing, rough, gentle, etc.).

In my current play there are four BarGirls as content creators, and three of them posts ~36 week pregnancy videos, the fourth of them lactation videos. None of them are pregnant (checked from browser console). I do not think this is right.

 

Furthermore, the current tag lines ("Hardcore queen", "Size queen", "Fitness babe") should either not exist, or should have a defined, replicable video tag collection, so the player could compete in the defined niche (I don't know, like "Exhibitionist", meaning creating videos on the beach or in the mall would get public sex tags). And the most often used tag would define the player's own niche ("Submissive" if every video is made on Compliant pill, "Breeder" if they are full of Breeder videos, I think you get it).

I've noticed 3 causes of lag/errors recently: 

 

(1) Buddies Around (i believe this needs a big update)... lag, failures...

 

(2) Spiked Fun; my game slows down hugely when spiked/events occur

 

(3) My playable character, Caprice; NPCs not fully recognised (this happens a lot in the Electric Pickle leading to early event closure and missing steps)

 

I think stuff was compounded when game version went to 25.1 and having XFans installed or not does not effect these problems, though I haven't gone far enough into this mod as i did not like that i began filming myself masterbating (sorry Dev) before creating XFan account.

If they're only posting milking/pregnancy content thats because X-Fans cannot find their content to create their actual media libraries which is why you're saying the taglines don't make sense, they should be posting other content with captions that match their personality. In terms of your current save are the bar girl rivals ones from the list of known working bar girls? If not then let me know and I can look into supporting them. Also what version of X-Fans are you running and how are you playing XCL? i.e. .html, modloader server, desktop app or android app?


In terms of the pregnancy and lactation content the reason they're able to post these is that for male creators they do not have any content that they could use to claim fetishist subscribers, so it was a deliberate design decision to allow them to post that content without being pregnant or lactating in game, My explanation for it in game is that you're not the only guy able to chat and fuck the girls, just because you didn't get them pregnant doesn't mean someone else didn't, for the lactation side of it as you said drugs exist to induce and stop locatation so its not hard to believe that they have access to the same thing.
