Are you tired of all the free housing options? Do you want to pay reasonable rent like any normal person?

 

Then you've come to the right place. Rent an apartment in Cambridge. Furnish it however you like. And pay your rent on time.

 

What this mod does
It offers a fully functional player home. Rent is due every seven days. If you don't pay on time, you'll be kicked out. And you'll no longer have access to your apartment and your belongings. Isn't that wonderful?

The rent is freely adjustable in the MCM from 10-1000 caps per day (this value is multiplied by 7 and the result is the rent for a week). If you've been locked out, all you have to do is pay the rent due and the landlord will open your door again. You can also pay in advance, by the way.  

 

Location:

In Cambridge, east from the Police Department. (see screenshots)

 

Ideas for the future:
Other tenants complain about the noise you make. They sell drugs. Listen to loud music. Pranks, phone calls, and bills in the mail. Just like a real living experience should be.

 

 

Requirements:

The 3 Major DLCs

The Workshop3 DLC (I think its the Vault DLC)

 

Installation:

Install the Main file. You don't need to install the sourcescripts unless you want to read code.

Ideas to implement too: 1st - add maid and janitor job to collect some caps. Maid have to enter residents rooms to clean and there couldhappen several... stories.

2 - some residents can intrude PC's room with some scenarios in their minds, like blackmail, harassment or just because they are drunk and want to speak.

Hope you will add some of these mechanics.   

In addition, the maid may receive more or less tips from residents or landlord because of wearing revealing clothing (contolling by SAKR). But some residents may be conservative and will complain to landlord. Then PC can be blackmailed for her actions by all of NPC's.

 

3rd idea: there is also a den in this house with several male residents (possibly young at age). Residents don't want to open the door for maid or landlord, but landlord wants to solve this problem and to kick out this residents. But first he offers his new maid to enter the room and investigate the situation. Residents agree to let new maid in with some conditions: have a drink with them, wear seductive clothing (with progression in time), then will offer drugs for free, then... not for free, if PC is addicted already. 

 

Well, I could continue If you are interested and could realize this kind of scenarios in the mod.

I would like it if not everything was decided by sex, so that there was a choice, for example, to simply pay the caps (or to be in debt due to blackmail).

I especially liked this one: "just because they are drunk and want to speak". This sparks some funny ideas

 

I had also some ideas about adult content, but i decided these would fit better into my other mod while this one stays non-adult for now.

Apparently this mod is incompatible with Private Area Markers, and without this mod the neighbors keep invading my apartment all the time.

 

That's the problem.

That's the problem.

I forgot to assign the correct sandbox packages to the tenants. They now stay within their assigned zones.

There are a few things to keep in mind, such as fast travel. Also other mods for Homeplate may conflict with it.

 

Theoretically, this would be possible, but it could also cause problems.

Hmm, maybe a simpler way would be to change the price of Homeplate to something like 20,000 caps (optional setting), or even remove the option to buy entirely.

 

I don't use Homeplate mods myself but I wondered if the landlord for this property also had bought Homeplate and then rented it out (in a sense trying to keep the renting mechanism separate from the Homeplate location) perhaps that might address the mods issue. I can see the issue with fast travel, I don't know if there's a way to switch it off to a location, because if it can then it could be disabled if rent is owing.

 

I'm just thinking for roleplay purposes here, why would you pay rent when you can make a one off payment 2k to own a place in DC. FO4 really needs something like this as there's no real gold sinks to speak of.

I just took a quick look. The price for homeplate is handled by a globalvalue (ServiceCostBuyHouse).

 

I can add an option in my MCM to increase it with a slider, I think such an option would be a good addition to this mod 

 

If you wanna adjust it now, type "Set ServiceCostBuyHouse to 20000" in the console and Geneva will only sell it if you have that many caps.

Thank you! The logic for a modifier or free extensions is already prepared. I collected a few ideas for slutty things. Some would also fit into my other mod so I decided to use them there, while some might still be perfect for this one (like get a free day but with a free use rule and things like that) 😃

I was hoping you'd see it. I know you've a full plate as it is, but we mentioned you in TFM while discussing a possible sorta.. "Bad Neighborhood" kinda mod.
Maybe even use Hangmans or something, but it came from talking about this one specifically.
Maybe Heinz will expand on it 😜

But to me, your suggestion sounds like the perfect idea to start creating quest or location mods. 😀

I said a similar thing early on with your Nora in mind she's out and about in the Commonwealth a bit and this is a good option instead of DC,could it be another option for another moped marker ? 👍

I have a couple of playthroughs that have run out things to do but I do have lots of caps with nothing to spend it on I'd love to become a real estate mogul buying up properties and renting them out, if they can't pay well sexual service will need to be given or jobs performed,maybe use some type of settlement beacon to attract them have some named weirdos in your apartments for some spice even have the odd raider come and try and stand over you for a cut

So you mean, conversely, that the player can become the landlord?

 

Thats an interesting idea, but won't really fit into the purpose of this mod.
