Got custom animations working! (Anyone still interested?)

Whether it's possible or not, don't know. It's important to keep in mind that research into the game's systems and how to break in hasn't really started yet. We can open and look at the game's files with some simple configuration stuffs, we can check and modify memory/values/ect with UE4SS, and we have been able to extract the headers without any notice-able issues with them. So, generally, things should be possible, it's just a matter of research and understanding.

But again, important to stress, I don't know how to do pretty much any "Gameplay" integrations yet . Getting animations working and usable is just the first step given what I already have built, fancy stuff comes laters. ^-^

As for progress with stuffs, as usual, software developments are taking longer than predicted. >.> At the time of writing, I currently have the last bit of the Animation Player, and then just general type checking and filling in missing functions till BFM is fully ported over to SCML. Given my failure to really release things when I thought I would be able to, I'm not giving any timeline other that 'soon' for when things will be ready to test. I had planned to do the SCML port in pieces, but it proved to be causing a lot of issues, hence why there hasn't been any test builds posted as they simply were not functioning. (for the technical minded, I had to change a VERY large portion of types and objects to function as I wanted them to, this means if I did things 'in pieces' I'd have to go through the whole mod and change types any time I changed something, only to later go back over that code again anyways... so I've just been doing it in one large pass.)

EDIT : The initial release of NaughtyZOI is now posted over on our Discord - The Broken Chatbox ! It's very VERY early and doesn't integrate into gameplay yet, but it exists!~ =^-^=

I don't think it's worth trying to integrate it with game mechanics yet. Inzoi is still in early access, with more mod tools coming in the future. So trying to do anything like that now would be much harder due to the lack of tools and more likely to break when they update stuff.

 

It would be much better to simply create a decent amount of content, for when the developers release more advanced mod tools like script based modding

Hard disagree! Spirit knows what he is doing and he is an experienced modder. Stop trying to sabotage development for this game's adult mod scene, take that negativity and doomsaying elsewhere, and let this man cook.

I don't know, I'm excited for NaughtyZoi but what he said sounds like sensible input to me. 

Anyway, somebody has mentioned it already but is there a chance we can get some meshes/rigs to start playing with animations? I tried to pull something from this game with the heavy use of Claude as help but only managed to find a male model go figure.

Except, we kinda have to if you want things to function on a basic level. When I say "game integrations' we're not talking, like, making advanced AI systems, but like, checking the gender of characters, validity checks, preventing the AI from either break the animation or breaking itself, ect, ect. I do agree that trying to get into the deeper mechanics before the basics are figured out isn't the best idea, it's interesting to research and if someone wants to dedicate time to it, then I'm all for it, but I've got a lot to do before then, personally. >.<

 

It's still "worth" research though, we could still use that knowledge. When things break it's usually from smaller tweaks that we can investigate and fix to gain even more knowledge about the game's systems overall.

Please don't respond like this >.< It felt like a reasonable position, even if I slightly disagree, it's valid to discuss. I don't feel like it was an attempt to sabotage or anything, though they may have misunderstood what I was talking about.

If you ever find yourself looking to AI for help, you've already gone down the wrong path and you won't really accomplish or learn much. lol
I've already got the models exported and set-up in blender, the process is relatively simple and I've covered it in the making animations for SCake tutorial available on my website. I've just not made a proper rig, I actually want to test if the simple rig set-up I made for Oblivion Remastered, which also uses the base Meta Human skeleton underneath, will work directly 1:1 with inZOI. (We've chatted about these things in our Discord ^-^ Though, with Discord enshitifying at a terrifying rate, could also ask about it in our Stoat server ^-^) I've found myself really busy, so not have the time to put together even a simple list of steps for inZOI.

Isn’t what he said reasonable?

For example, some games that keep getting poor updates can ruin very excellent mods — and without a complete base game, that’s really bad.

This game has a lot of potential and a great aesthetic. The developer daring to take the first step is really admirable.

 

(Also, could the OP reply to me? Are you currently focusing on animation editing, or do you also work a bit on model and physics editing?)

See, I'm big on the adult mods, yes. But I already had a natural interest in it (and formerly The Sims) even before all of that. The Sims 4 as a game compared to it's predecessors is all around fucked, and adult mods, regular mods or both, they're genuinely necessary for The Sims 4 to even remotely feel worth the time, let alone fun and fulfilling.

 

Now with inZOI, it's got a lot of room to grow, and grow well, because their foundation/core actually started off in the right place unlike The Sims 4 (project olympus). Hopefully inZOI can be the best of both a great game without adult mods, and even greater game with them.

I'm honestly very interested; the graphics are advanced enough that in a few years it could become the ultimate NSFW game. I think we'll be able to start creating material for the game by the end of this year or by spring 2027.

I'm not entirely sure if this can correlate to original/modded interactions but.. Animation support is up and coming in the modkit apparently, according to one early access inZOI player on YouTube!

Do you have a link? While we already have a method for getting in custom animations, the modkit supporting it natively could make things a lot easier! ^-^

If this is true, this would be huge for a lot of mod types, not just horny. Would be very exciting.

hello, about news for animation in inzoi, i haven't seen anything since last year and this, was it implemented officially? a new engine is supposed to come, it may be tied to it

Ah, so someone just 'said' it, but didn't show it or give any details. We'll have to wait to see what actually exists. lol

EDIT : New test build for NaughtyZOI posted. I got pretty close to a DEV version release, but unfortunately ran into some hurdles and tripped along the way >.> Test version posted on our Discord and Forums, we still don't have all the preference blocking and such in-place so still a limited release.

Seen everything in the Discord, still love to see things coming along! That said, tomorrow being the 26th, the new update and all that entails (including the modkit milestone hopefully) releases, so hopefully it won't take any time at all to find out more. I'll be sure to drop the info on the new modkit features including animations/motions(/interactions??) ASAP!
