Russia might be going dark.

So this is not exactly surprising news, and I was debating (with myself) whether to even bother posting this, but here it is in case someone missed it:

Russia might be segregating their internet soon - think the Chinese firewall, or North Korea.

Q: How is this relevant to Skyrim?

A: Got Russian mods, or mods hosted on Russian sites? Download the latest version now; beware of malware.

Q: ENB?

A: Hosted in Denver USA, but I don't know where Boris lives. Might be difficult to update if you can't access the server.

I recall when he was losing his mind over Community Shaders and threatening to take a flight to the UK to beat up doodlum.

Boris is....a character. Full of hot takes (and hot air) and has been for many years. The downfall of ENB can't come soon enough in my opinion, but it probably won't fully happen.

Melodic might be another that's affected. Don't know how Discord works, the channel might remain or disappear entirely.

there's one big difference. north korea is not a capitalist country. russia is. russia relies on its consumer base to keep the economy afloat. north korea does not. russia therefore cannot push too far into militarization territory without seriously harming the economy. and the economy being good means that putin's rule will be more stable.

Could be coincidence, but modbooru seems like it was affected by this (or something related to this). Been quiet for quite a while now.

In other news, someone was trying to SQL inject that site a couple of days ago so if you happen to have an account there which shares a password with something else, now might be the time to change the password on those other services.
