Interesting idea for a mod unfortunately it doesn't work.  When I click on the edict I get nothing. It's a shame it's exactly what I was looking for.

Maybe a holdings building that spawns events might be a simpler way to make this work.

An option to play with slaves in your empire proper would be nice.

I'm sorry to hear RnC was being a bit tricky for you, are you sure everything was set up correct?

I do know this mod currently only works on Humanoid based species, so if a conquered empire isn't humanoid, it might not show in the edict.

Unfortunately, due to how specific the images and interactions are, I believe @Eva39Red was trying to make each possible situation have custom artwork,
which requires this mod's starting scope to be a bit smaller.

Luckily, in the download section, there is a submod called `RnC Humanoid Only.rar` that updates the game start generation to force only humanoids to spawn
(so that you can conquer to your heart's extent!)

I set all of them to humanoid, have the vassal, hit the edict and where you are supposed to get the choice of vassal to raid you get nothing.

I even tried invading a planet and nothing.

Do you have Lustful Void and UI Overhaul Dynamic installed and in order? If so can you attach game.log (Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\logs) file after you press edict

Did you ever fix this? i have two vassals both are classed as humanoid and i also get nothing in that option.

the only thing i can think of is that it is because the empires that i have as vassals while they are classed as humanoid they did not generate with a vanilla framework portrait.

also if that is the case how would someone go about adding basic support for a vf style portarit mod? i ask because i was hoping to use the star wars rebels portraits from VF Inspired Themes.

Before I try it, I'm curious how well this would work if it's an AI opponent as the faction/species with all the content going after others.

It's a really weird issue with a fix that seems to work.
From what I can tell the issue is that the Mod file has "/Users/user/" for it's path which causes it to not be read by the launcher because that path doesn't exist. After changing the Mod file to the first image, booting up the game, and re-checking the mod file it has updated to include my PC user name. "/Users/Example/" and it works normally.
Just to clarify:
Open the mod file with notepad (Not the one in the folder named "descriptor" but the one that goes into the stellaris' mod folder itself.)
Change the line after "path" to "mod/Raid and Conquer" and save
Launch Stellaris
And the mod's path should hopefully be fixed for you.

Hope it will get fixed so we don't have to do it manually

I think if this mod incorporated the first contact stuff (hacking and abducting scientists) + Barbaric Despoilers (Raiding instead of orbital bombardment) from the AI it'd be amazing. Kind of bummed me out it's mostly from the player perspective.

Keeping an eye on this with great interest. Getting all the species types involved would be good, but I'm unaware how meticulous that process has got to be. If it's so much that you might not end up doing it at all, I definitely wouldn't mind if the events were generic and not species-specific.

Dropping in with a quick update. The past six months have been busy with personal stuff, but I'm still making progress on the mod. The most difficult part of making new images is complete. Now I just need to retouch them and code some additional events. I wasn't sure whether recent updates would break something or mess with image resolution as it is already a challenge to fit everything into Stellaris' format without images ending up looking blurry

I'm getting a crash on when pressing "city&room" tab in empire creation with this mod. Stellaris 4.3
It is possible that there is some mod conflict, but turning this mod off removed my ctd.

EDIT: seems to be the "humanoids only" sub-mod causing the issue.
