Yeah, that usually happens when Steam, Reloaded-II, and the game’s .exe don’t run with the same permissions.
If one of them runs as Administrator while the others don’t, the SteamAPI connection fails and you’ll get that error.

✅ How to fix it:

• Close Steam, Reloaded-II, and the game completely.

• Then start all three with the same permissions — either

  • all as Administrator, or

  • all normally (non-Admin).

👉 But it’s generally better not to run any of them as Admin.
Running Reloaded-II or the game in Admin mode can interfere with file hooks and prevent certain mods from loading properly — especially those using texture or shader swaps.
Keeping everything on the same (non-admin) level avoids this issue and works more reliably overall.

After that, launch the game through Reloaded-II, not directly from Steam. That should clear the error in most cases.

Yeah, most of the discussion has actually moved over to Reddit and the Modding Discord lately.
Right now, everyone’s mostly focused on figuring out the exporting pipeline, since that’s the last big hurdle before proper model edits can happen.

That’s also why mod uploads have slowed down a bit — people are investing their time in testing tools and trying to make exports stable.
Once that’s sorted out, we’ll probably see a wave of new mods popping up here again.

Guess I'm serving more lazy appetizers, here's Sea-through edit for Ranamon. with less evil eyes too.

 

if anybody wants to start making some of those its very easy to do: use DSTSModTool then just MVGL extract app_0.dx11.mvgl, after the process is done look for the image files then rename the .img character files to .dds to edit them with photoshop or anything with .dds plugin then save the edited .dds as BC1 then put the new file in a folder order like I did with this mod to add to Reloaded-II and you're good to go.

its not the right way but the lazy way whichs what I've been making these poor quality edits lol. I do the same with other games too editing existing mods to learn how to make my own variants of everything and how to add to them. I even made some few mods for .Hack//G.U. once by simply tinkering with stuff.

I just gave Junomon a tiny tattoo because there's not much I can do at the moment lol.

 

and for Mervamon the bra is see-through as the original mod but I softened it and repositioned it a bit.

I find it crazy we are getting such great female and digimon mods here while cybersleuth could barely muster up anything lewd for the main characters other then a big butt. hopefully once we get the breakthrough of exporting to happen here we can get some modders to make somethings for cybersleuth too.

Another pervy lazy mod, similar to the Inori nude bikini mod but lazy for fMC, with a UI edit to the phone to have a hentai wallpaper because - well, look at the username lol

Added an alt hentai phone wallpaper if you want to switch them just rename the files

 

You can change the wallpaper to whatever you want, go into the .dds and edit as you like.

neither do I, just try to replicate what I did with my mods and you'll probably learn something from it and may even start to tinker with other games' mods if they are easy to edit.

 

all you need is the provided extractors linked previously in this forum topic and a image edit program like Photoshop or its alternatives and a download for the .dds plugin.

unfortunately it might take a few months.

 

judging by the fact they can't just import another model and have to use the base model it might even be years.

 

honestly this is the closest we've gotten to nude mods in the last few games.

the mods of this game are SO lacking that somebody decided to upload my lazy 0 effort mods on gamebanana xD

 

Guys, please, I encourage you all to try and make your own mods even if you  are going to do it the lazy way like I did here, its so easy that I was able to make them with 0 experience lol 

free idea for a mod for anybody who wants to try making a simple one, check out Lotosmon's textures as she already has a detailed model and all you need to do is change the color of her undies to flesh color in her texture file. remember, .img file can be renamed and edited as .dds

 

I finsihed the game twice already so I kinda lost interest to make anymore rn
