I couldn’t replicate it myself afterward either — trust me, I tried, since I really wanted to screenshot it.
 

It happened pretty late in the game, right before getting the final side quests — after the Heat Cosmic area, when you move into the ice region (can’t recall the exact name since I went through it quite fast), the one where you have to plant the seed to melt the ice in certain spots.
 

Anyway, I had just melted one of those ice patches and saved the game there (technically, it was the auto-save).

When I later reloaded the game, I accidentally picked the auto-save instead of my manual one — and my character was glitched inside the ice. Because of that, the camera zoomed in very close due to the narrow area and the collision. I tried to change the perspective since it looked strange, and that’s when I caught a quick glimpse under the skirt, without having the model fading out — something pink underneath was clearly visible for a moment, right before the character bugged out and fell through the map after clipping free from the ice. But sadly not long enough to ensure, what I've just seen.
 

Sadly, I can’t say for sure whether it was actual panties or just pink meshes, but after reading this thread, it makes a lot more sense.

When I tried to reload the auto-save again, it had already been overwritten after the respawn.

So you’ve already managed to shorten the skirt, but you just can’t export it into the game yet, right?
That’s a shame. Let’s see how long it’ll take until that becomes possible.

DSTS inner outfits textures of female human characters are basicaly painted black.

This applies to albedo textures and shader masks.

 

Exsample:

Kanan (female protagonist) texture part of crotch painted black.

And that mask textures for ambient occlusion painted to appiar dark.

*red ch is for AO, other chs are unknown and completely white (1.0). when you view mask texture in image viewer, it appears light blue because GB chs set to 1.

Edit these textures, panties could see.

Fortunately, DSTS doesn't employ ridiculous censorship where camera angles disappearing characters.

So texture repaint can able to fix.

character modifications in-game on Discord are likely just swapping existing models.

It's still early to say that editing models has become possible.

Bummer — then I must’ve caught something else in that glitchy moment. Still annoyed I couldn’t reproduce it or grab a screenshot.

On your “any progress?” question, here’s the short, sourced rundown:

  • Tooling is live (WIP exporter): The DSTS Mod Tool GUI can pack/unpack MVGL/CPK/MBE/IMG archives, install/uninstall data & text files, and run on Win10+ /.NET 8. The author notes an exporter is in progress, which is the last big blocker for full model edits. See the tool post for details and the GitHub link:

  • Mods already loading in-game: Multiple GameBanana uploads (e.g., Parkus’ Evolution Edits) are working via the Reloaded II mod loader, which confirms a stable loader-based pipeline for textures, parameters, and swaps. The page explicitly lists the loader requirement. (GameBanana)

TL;DR: Text/asset edits and loader-based tweaks are happening now; full mesh export/import for things like skirt re-models is not publicly available yet but appears to be actively worked on by the tool author. If/when that exporter lands, expect model edits (shortened skirts, mesh cleanups, etc.) to move fast. Sources: Reddit tool thread and example working mod on GameBanana. (GameBanana)

But thats all for now. Quite impressive development in such a short time, but not enough for fully-nudes.

That’s actually a great catch — explains perfectly why it looked like a “black void” under there before. Turns out it’s not missing geometry at all, just the albedo and AO masks being painted pitch-black.
 

So in theory, once the exporter’s ready, those darkened areas could be re-textured into something much more… revealing. With the right tweaks, you could even play with semi-transparent fabrics, soft shading, or that glossy “skin-tight” look that reacts to lighting.
 

And yeah, the fact that DSTS doesn’t go full censorship-mode like some other titles really opens up the possibilities. Modders can finally have fun making things more natural — or let’s be honest, a little more distracting — without fighting the engine.
 

Also, props for confirming that repainting works already. It’s a small step, but it’s definitely a sexy one in the right direction.

Personally, I'd love to see breasts added to some other female voiced digimon, mostly Renamon and her digivolving line like Taomon

I tried out the demo and when you select the female player char she has jiggle physics in the intro screen but when you get to move around with her in the world there is nothing... Disappointing.

yea, sadly digimon game never added any kind of jiggle physics even with all the risque digimon design… even in cyber sleuth there’s no jiggle for the female protag

Previously, I investigated jiggle physics for female protagonist and concluded that it’s fixed animation that reproduces breast jiggle.
(breast jiggle animation is included in motions where body sways left and right during character selection, walking, and combat)

 

Inside unpacked archive, there is a file named bone_physics.mbe, and its contents only describe bone names for hair and scarf.

 

Even when I replaced bone names in this mbe file with breast-related bone names, breast jiggle didn’t appear to change.
This investigation is superficial, and I hope it can be resolved through further in-depth technical efforts.

That’s really insightful, Sanurai — thanks for sharing your findings.
It definitely explains why the intro sequence seems to have more movement, while the in-game models stay static. Sounds like the game uses a predefined animation rig rather than true physics simulation.
 

If the bone data for hair and scarf are already mapped, that’s at least a good starting point. Once the exporter or a proper rigging tool is available, those same principles could probably be extended to the upper body or even clothing meshes.
 

I agree that it’ll take some deeper testing, but it’s encouraging to see that the structure is there — it’s just waiting to be unlocked.

Since model edits are off the table for now, I don't suppose we could get a minor texture edit to Lilithmon to give her dark bags under her eyes like how wanderjegson draws her? The look's grown on me.

Not yet, unfortunately.
Right now, the tools we have only allow unpacking, texture editing, and partial repacking. You can import meshes into Blender for inspection or modification, but there’s still no working exporter that correctly converts them back into the game’s native MVGL/CPK/MBE/IMG structure.
 

That means full nudity or full mesh replacements aren’t possible yet, since the models can’t be reinserted into the game. What people have achieved so far are texture-based edits — removing, recoloring, or repainting existing clothing layers — but not true model swaps or reshaped bodies.
 

The groundwork is there, though. The DSTS Mod Tool already handles unpacking and data reading, and once the exporter part is finalized (maybe integrated into the same tool), it should finally open the door for full mesh mods.
 

So yeah, we’re still waiting on that exporter. Once it’s public and stable, full body edits and complete nude models will finally be achievable.

I removed the black void the lazy way from fMC, Inori and Hiroko because they are too visible, just photoshopped the black out of the texture files (.img rename .dds then back).

0 details but hopefully somebody makes a much more detailed version later, but for now this is better than the distracting abyss in every cutscene.

 

edit: Another lazy mod, Lilithmon recolored legs to bare.

It is impossible because there is a black outline.

It would be nice if I could change the model
For now, only the texture can be modified.
