Spoilerman Posted September 9, 2025 Posted September 9, 2025 I wanted to add some "spice" to my next playthrough but i'm a bit out of the loop (last time i used sexlab it was when SE was just released). I wanted to download a sex framework but i see that now we have Sexlab, Sexlabp+, Ostim, Osex, Ostim ng, flowergirls....what's the difference? i was looking for something functional but i remember that sexlab was heavy as hell (and a bit clunky but i guess it was because of the old version). If i'm not mistaken sexlab should be the heaviest one but also the most supported and more customizeable (in fact i don't remember seeing stuff like devious devices for say, ostim). could anyone give me a crash course on those things? Basically all i need is an arousal mechanic and a way to "take care of it", wouldn't mind the possibility to add stuff to it and futa support would be nice too thanks to whoever can help here 1
gahnmu1 Posted September 9, 2025 Posted September 9, 2025 No expert, I've been using SL SE, and can say it's the most customizable and compatible, also so long as you're not going crazy trying to make things work, really stable. But Ostim is gaining traction here and in Nexus. I would say just find a mod you're into, and build into that theme. Whichever framework fits that the most, you should go with. Also if you see NG next to the name, usually requires legacy version and just adds some bells and whistles, or may tank your game. My personal experience, SLp+ breaks my game every time.

coldnlood54611 Posted October 18, 2025 Posted October 18, 2025 ostim better for main ,sexlab for secondary

EvilCampinCow Posted October 25, 2025 Posted October 25, 2025 You can have OStim as the main mod that fires off the majority of the sex-frameworks and what not, and it handles your romance/consensual type of mods. If you wanted non-con stuff, or creatures or the "Bad-End" type of content OStim doesn't work for that, and you need Sexlab or a similar equivalent to fire off those mods/animations. 2
masterchief24 Posted October 25, 2025 Posted October 25, 2025 hey bro, here is a thread for uploading mod for downloads, not for asking questions.

For questions, we need a thread called "Questions." On the topic, isn't Osex pretty much replaced by Ostim (not a question for you specifically, just a general question)? I've never used Osex. Used SL until Ostim Standalone came out and went to that. And I don't use both SL and Ostim Standalone. Edited November 4, 2025 by Count Chocula
Myhafaa Posted November 11, 2025 Posted November 11, 2025 (edited) IMHO, ostim better for visuals, SL have more frameworks and integrated deeper in gameplay. If you need just a arousal framework and simple scene starting mod(just keep it more vanilla like) and not looking for new storylines, quest integration, new mechanics, et cetera, just use ostim. FauxFurry Posted November 11, 2025 Posted November 11, 2025 Ostim is gradually catching up but the developers' progress can be impeded when they are banned from the Nexus for questionable reasons. The tools to convert Sexlab animations to Ostim animation as well as the Osexlab Bridge utility can help to reduce the disparity a bit but it requires more work from the user than most are going to be comfortable with. 1

You can run animation packs directly with the Ostim framework. The downside is the lack of story; it's primarily an animation pack. Sexlab offers more diverse gameplay, and most of the fun mods are based on Sexlab. The downside is that it's not as stable as Ostim, has slightly less compatibility, requires many prerequisite mods, and its animation packs are older. It depends on your preference. I'm a beginner and mainly use Ostim's animation packs combined with Sexlab's gameplay mods, stitching them together. These two frameworks don't conflict and can be used together using event bridges. from the looks of it, you could run both OStim and SexLab, but just run OStim if you don't want the slavery/cannibalism/rape stuff and don't care about storylines. Needless to say, it seems like there are event bridge mods to make the 2 run together, so you can have OStim's stability for most scenes, but the stories that link them together (and "extreme" scenes) are taken care of by SexLab.

CursedCrusader Posted December 2, 2025 Posted December 2, 2025 Purely content wise. SexLab has all the extreme stuff. Rape, slavery, realistic prostitution, captivity, hard BDSM and more. Ostim and Osex seems to be more "vanilla" sexual wise. I heard Ostim has smoother and better animations and is less clunky, but only used SexLab so far. 1

katrina.balanchuk Posted December 28, 2025 Posted December 28, 2025 So basically the "typical' Loverslab mods ( if there is such a thing, I mean as in wild hardcore with sex slavery, non-con , super mutant, ahem, I mean Orc, sex etc) cannot be used with OSTIM?

Pretty much yea. Afaik there is no non-consensual, bestiality, slavery, etc. You can however run SL and Ostim at the same time and cover all bases. The only real caveat for me is that you cannot share animations, one package lets say billies is either SL or Ostim. 2

Not to my knowledge. There's a reason the animation packages need to be converted. Whichever loads last will be used. Look it up in Mod Organizer, you'll see they conflict.
