on a side note, i compared what i already have and it seems that someone already edited one of the portraits, the "Shantae Beach 1 Normal". so i guess testing can be done to check if this one can be ported in the game

I've been watching this thread for a bit and I managed to rip Shantae's bikini sprites and every character's portrait... I'm not entirely sure what to do with them besides figuring out how to put them into a sprite sheet lol.

 

Ripping Risky, Rotty, Skye, and the other girls might also be a possibility but I'll need to check it out again first. (^v^;)

Good news: Rotty's been successfully ripped and I've figured out how to get rid of all the extra space from the sprites, I hope that'll make things easier 😄

 

I'll take a look at Sky and Risky after I get some rest!

I plan on trying to rip the rest of the girls but since I don't want to keep y'all waiting too long, I'll send in what I already have in the meantime, have fun! ^v^

tysm! i did get the palette right then. the purple suit and hairband got me confused for a bit but it makes way more sense in context lmao.

no, it is! just without the cake, i thought Rotty was coming out of the ground or something similar to the intro where she pops up out of nowhere. 

 

since i haven't played this one yet, i had no idea. ^v^;

Now that I think about it, the last time I saw the whole girl-cake thing in anything was in an early season of Impractical Jokers, and that show started in the 2010's.

some updates since last time:

 

every sprite has been extracted! all that's left is to individually find and apply each girls' correct color palettes which is pretty much just a trial and error process.

 

but since then, i've been able to get my hands on the PC version of Shantae Advance and i may have found a way to mod at least the menus and UI, using this edit as a test. (a video of it in action)

 

 

 

 

this was made on a whim since i have little knowledge on Unity modding but some other stuff i want to look into is if dialogue can be changed so characters can comment on nudity or something, how that whole "GBA ROM in Unity" thing works. (considering it even is a ROM), and how to actually package it as a mod for Unity.

 

(plus i'll probably try to beat Risky Revolution too in the meantime to hopefully make things easier with context and to actually get the bikini costume lol :3)

and since it works, i guess i should work getting the rest of the images NSFW

i found a few more edits but i find them that they are TOO nude. the one who edited them even removed accessories that didn't impact anything. also the nipples aren't that great

oh shit i didn't know you were actually working on them Angel, those look awesome 😄

 

Rotty and Sky may be a good start so that Shantae doesn't feel overwhelming... luckily i'm pretty sure the main girls are the only sprite-heavy ones since the others from what i've seen are just idle animations

huh, i never actually considered checking rule34 til now but there are some edits that i could use for testing so that's neat
