Not to detract from the momentous release of the disappointingly mute lesbean dream team and wonderful mods y'all have been so hard at work preparing, I am compelled to ask something:
How many people are able to play a full race through with the Maria mod?

Over the month I have been on and off trying genuinely everything I can think of, but no matter what I do I simply can not even reach a cross world portal without the game HARD crashing.  Like-- "catastrophic error abort program no error logs"-type crashing.  I have tried both common mod managers, I have tried alone and with other mods, I have tried manually directory junction soft-linking and I have tried hard linking, I have tried physically putting the mod in the mods folder, I have tried base color and each of the other colors subsequently, I have tried loading it first, I have tried loading it last -- genuinely nothing will allow me to play more than a minute of a race before the software completely gives up.
Hell, I've gone so far as to get UE4SS set up so that I may view the console and maybe catch a glimpse of what it is that is causing the failure but even that cannot see anything causing the crash, let alone survive it or populate a crash log!

I'm truly vexed, and while I'd hoped to resolve it quietly It simply was not meant to be.
So, I've decided to relent and ask for help from someone willing openly, in hopes of perhaps helping anyone else who might be having a similar issue. Whether we discuss it here, over DMs, over some other software, e-mail service, or fuckin' PGP encrypted carrier pigeon missives makes no difference to me, so long as I can assist in killing this genuine bugbear bothering my February.

If you find a fix for this, please remember to post it somewhere public online so that others can have a shot at fixing it too.

 

As a suggestion; try moving the game onto a SSD instead of a HDD. This solves the problem where people often (but not always) error code when playing online the moment they're supposed to load into the track. For whatever reason the game has varying load times, and if you load something too slowly, the game doesn't understand how to handle it. This sounds similar enough to be worth trying.

Have you tried running no mods just to see if its not a corrupt file? If you still crash without any mods then try verifying files to fix or possibly reinstall if needed.
Are your drivers up to date? I know, retarded question, but sometimes things will slip and one will have a moment. (make sure you're last update was a full install as well, not just a overwrite update)
Are you lacking anywhere in hardware? Like, below recommended anywhere (cpu/gpu/system ram)
Maybe insufficient system ram or GPU ram? Try messing with graphic settings if you have your GPU hitting the cap of what it can handle. as many mods tend to get more high poly than what the game was intended for (in general not specifically SCW) and could be forcing too much to handle at once, especially when loading the next stage in the background for the warp ring (same with system ram but that's quite unlikely if you are on a modern pc unless you are deliberately gimping yourself by running too many programs).
These are about the only thing I can suggest as general review to attempt an assist.

Rest assured, the very moment I discern what's wrong, or how to fix it, whether or not I manage to do so I'll be sharing my findings. 
As for your suggestions, unfortunately the game and any applicable mods are already sitting on an SSD -- an NVME, in fact.  I do notice disconnects when alt-tabbed or when ping rises because of how sensitive the lobby servers are, but I'm positive it's unrelated.

I have indeed run the game without mods, and it behaves fine.  I was just on felling far too fast as a certain pianissimo wolf. 
All the drivers I can think to update are, primarily my GPU but I happened to update my CPU chipset and Motherboard fairly recently, so they are also up to date.
I am well above specifications for the game,  Ryzen 7600X (3.70 rater than 4.00)ghz, 32GB RAM, Radeon RX6800 XT (16GB version), so the likelihood the problem's here is practically nonexistant. Part of the testing gamut as well involved running ***only*** the game and steam, no browsers no discord, etc-- no change. 
Regarding graphical settings: amusingly I typically turn things *down* rather than up, preferring to go easy on my hardware for the sake of longevity and keeping the space cool. I don't upscale, I turn many effects off, and still game at 1080p which only necessitates the least intensive of anti aliasing.  It's certainly something to do with the mod, but I don't have the slightest idea where to look or even how to begin to fix it, as I've never attempted to make content for any game, really.

I guess the only advice I can give is make sure Maria is not contending with another mod that replaces the same character as she does. Basic, I know, but still easy to miss.

I would hope it should be something so simple, but alas.  As mentioned initially, I've tried the mod by itself (and alongside others that don't even touch Miku, just to be paranoid) a number of different ways, assuring that it's not a conflict but rather something fundamental with it's construction.

Well, it didn't just "start working" -- a new version was released, with patch notes that claim it fixes a common crash when heading into the vehicle garage -- a crash I never experienced!
So whatever they changed in-between the versions to fix *that*, also fixed whatever my issue was.  If I reinstall the 1.0 version instead of using the 1.2 version, the crashes return, whatever track.

oh yeaa I LOVE the concept of blaze having smaller breasts, but like I want them to be pretty small but still there lol
