Seen this game called Turret Girls and seems interesting enough, is there a chance it can be modded when it releases in a few days? XD

I've been working a bit on this when the demo was out, and found a way to launch the demo without connecting to steam's servers. It's pretty easy to modify textures since it's just a Unity game and we can use UABEA, but I didn't have any luck with modifying meshes since the Unity version doesn't match the other mesh editing tutorials I've found. I'll need someone who knows what they're doing if we can get a mesh editor going. TurretGirls uses Unity 2022.3.1f1

 

This is a pretty basic mod, and I actually modified the Plain Bra/Panties to be bandaids instead. I thought about making them smaller but meh. They also get removed from high damage instead of complete defeat like in the vanilla version. I've also removed the flower censor on complete defeat, in case people only want that. Optionally the Plain Bra/Panties can just be textured out entirely if needed.

 

The one costume in the demo can be trimmed to only be the straps/boots/gloves, separate the skirt/shirt/jacket etc. I prefer the "tank girl" look of just the straps and bandaids, but it can be lightly customized as needed for topless/bottomless etc. It looks like from the trailer on Steam that there's still only the one outfit and only one girl, so maybe that is all we get. There are several new underwears and accessories, but I personally would prefer at least another outfit or two.

 

If the game isn't too expensive I'll probably pick it up and see if the demo mods carry over to main game. I'll have to fiddle with some things to make sure it's shareable, since I've broken some textures while testing.

never knew there was a demo, hopefully its not to expensive as it looks arcady and if it comes with only one character anyways...

 

Mod Looks pretty good, would be really cool to see someone who can do the meshes, Tank you XD lol

I purchased it. Rather like it. Pretty much like a first-person tower defense kinda game. Very repetitive but that's the nature of the game. It's good to bang out a few minutes. Don't think it is the kind of game you would sink hours and hours into but then again it's only $10.

 

Definitely would be better with full nudity.

I was playing it and I found it humorous when I stepped away to use the restroom and came back to hear the heroine say, "hey aren't you going to play?" Bit cheeky but I like it.

The mod from the Demo seems to carry over pretty nicely, but it breaks with the new camera angle cut-ins they added for the full release. I'll have to fiddle with it by hand, should hopefully get it done in a few hours, at least for the core things: uncensor the flower, new skin texture, bandaids for plain bra/panties, hide the ribbon, hide the default rifle. I'll try and have some options for the jacket/costume too like "no shirt", "only jacket", "only the straps/gloves/boots" and "nothing".
 

My worry is that if there's a new update to hotfix stuff it'll become broken almost instantly, but I guess we'll see. At least it's easy enough to fix that literally anyone with UABEA can fix it themselves, and the devs have also provided their own Workshop guide for this same thing.

Here you go. A very basic mod that removes pretty much everything, with some alternative options if you want a bit more coverage.

 

TG mod package.7z

 

 

Steps:

1. Drag all .bundle files you want into the following folder:
    steamapps> common> TurretGirls> TurretGirls_Data> StreamingAssets> aa> StandaloneWindows64

    - You can find this folder easily by right clicking the game in Steam, Manage, Browse Local Files

2. Replace existing

3. Done!

 

What this hides:

 - The base level folder .bundles will hide the Plain Bra, Plain Panties, Knee High Socks (Black), the entire costume, gives her a new skin textures, and also removes the flower censor when she gets completely destroyed in battle. This does not remove the other accessories, bras, panties, socks, or censors; only those mentioned above. So if you want the bonus stats from the later items but nude, then you'll have to mod it yourself. It's very easy, I believe in you.

Alternate stuff:
 - Drag and drop "hide default accessories" .bundle items to hide the default Rifle and Everyday Ribbon accessories, replace as needed.

 

 - With "alternate underwear", drag and drop, replace existing to replace the Plain Bra/Panties with Bandaids. They will become damaged like normal since it's using the same texture for damage as the Plain Bra/Panties. See spoiler section for image of that.

 

 - The "trimmed costumes" are mutually exclusive as they share the same .bundle. Pick the one you like, see the spoiler section for images of each. There are currently:
    - Jacket only: removes everything but the outer green jacket
    - No jacket: removes only the outer jacket and anything attached to it
    - No jacket, No shirt: removes the outer jacket and the white shirt; leaving only straps and skirt and tie
    - Tank girl: Only body straps, gloves, boots, and the back pouch

 

 - If you don't see something you like or want to modify this at all, you can try your own hand by getting UABEA or MelonLoader and doing it yourself! The devs added a Workshop guide on the Steam page, so go there and make your own. Add your own pubic hair if you want, it's really not that hard.

 

There is also a risk of this mod breaking in the future, so be careful. If they add any camera angle cut-ins or modify any of those .bundle items it will likely break, as it did for me going from the Demo to full release.

 

If anyone has any expertise in modifying meshes for Unity 2022.3.1f1, that would be great as well since she's completely smooth otherwise.

 

I have not tested this throughout the full game yet, so I'm sorry if something breaks especially if you're on a good run but you know the risks. 

 

Edit: Sorry, for some reason the gamemanager didn't properly uncensor the flower. It should now in the .7z file. It's also included separately so you dont need to download the whole thing again.

If you play a little bit you can unlock new panties and use that with the Plain Bra to do a topless loadout if you wish.

You know, I completely forgot that was an option. Here's the full default jacket/shirt/skirt combo, but with the skin textures only.

i love how basic it looks, though that just might be because how the actau; graphics of the game are but looks good for a first day mod XD

For the girl or the clothes? Either way, I think it should be doable yes. You can basically void out the dirt texture and she shouldn't take any bruises/cuts. The clothes and underwear would need some slight adjusting but not much.

Amazing work! I was able to edit the texture file to kind of match the mesh as best as I could. It's not perfect, but I do like it a lot better than nothing.

 

If I have your permission, can I bundle the character_assets before with the mesh you made? With credits to you, of course.
