Having difficulty trying to install Simple Slavery for Skyrim SE.

I am having trouble installing Simple Slavery for Skyrim SE, and I am not sure what I may be missing. I have the standard requirements (sexlab framework etc.) and I installed ZAZanimations as stated in the page, but MO2 says its missing a base folder when I try to install it. Do I need the original LE mod since I noticed the LE version of Simple Slavery is around 570mb, while this one is only like 12.

That file is a FOMOD (aka installer). You should get an installer with options to make a correct install, not just receive a message saying it's missing a folder. Maybe the installed isn't setup correctly or you do have the requirements installed but not enabled, so the installer doesn't recognize it.

 

Do note there's a more up to date version of SS here.
