tonitrulupus Posted July 16, 2025 Posted July 16, 2025 I tried one of the alt starts and now I have no clue who to talk to or what to do to clear the quest, I chose the necromancers pet, Sebastian Lort was the "owner" once I killed him and escaped, another quest popped up, "a necromancer's pet" stage I am on is "escape your master and find clues on your past" with no clue where to go or where to find this clues just not sure how to clear that quest, if any one has done this start any help would be welcomed.
CaptainJ03 Posted July 16, 2025 Posted July 16, 2025 Just guessing here: the first LAL quest typically ends when you travel to Helgen, and the Mainquest starts. As I don't care being dragonborn, normally I just keep that LAL quest in my journal forever (better than having the mainquest in the journal)

Every single LAL start has something like that, only worded differently, in line with your chosen start. There are no quest markers, because most of us, who use LAL, have been playing for so long we don't care about dragons or being Dragonborn anymore and just want to get on with literally anything else. The quest marker, should there be one, would just annoy the hell out of us. That way one can totally ignore it. Out of sight, out of mind, and all that jazz. Edited July 16, 2025 by belegost
As the mod's concept suggests -> a SECOND chance You actually died in Helgen... but thanks to the "Dragon Break" (it's a break in time - because "dragon" = time) you can experience Skyrim WITHOUT dragons... until you travel to Helgen. For example, as soon as you select a certain dialogue option with the innkeeper in a tavern -> you'll receive the quest pointer to Helgen. I've already completed the entire Vampire DLC without having been to Helgen... of course, the references in the dialogues with Serana seem a bit odd. Many players are no longer interested in the main quest about Aldiun in a 15-year-old game - with the abundance of good quest mods, you can play for months without having anything to do with dragons!

I had thought about that a little bit ago, so basically any of the alt starts point in starting up the dragon born quest line more or less, good to know. thank you

That is when AI would play a major role in games it could change the dialog depending on what is going on in the game. it can almost copy any voice now, give it a few years and it will change games as we know it

OK I been playing for a little be without going to helgen and going NO were, no clues, nothing on that quest, in that alt start you are sitting in rimrock cave, once you kill or escape with the masters key, that completes, then what pops up is the quest that called "a necromancer's pet", so I figured why not see if it completes by doing the new beginnings that one completes, so I am just following the DB quest line for now to see if it completes. the thing is , the quest its elf states this : I am hoping this may help, It did pop up right after I left the cave.
belegost Posted July 26, 2025 Posted July 26, 2025 (edited) Should complete after you read a certain journal and/or finish Unbound. The first two lines of the actual journal (not objective) are a clue. But I guess nobody reads those anymore. Edited July 26, 2025 by belegost

Lort's involved in the vanilla quest "A Daedra's Best Friend". Have you finished that one yet?

belegost Posted August 9, 2025 Posted August 9, 2025 From LAL's description: Quote For most of the starts, it will appear as though your "Live Another Life" quest has stalled. You will not have an active objective telling you where to go next. When you are ready to begin pursuing the main quest, talk to an innkeeper and ask them for rumors. You'll be given a generic rumor about Helgen and told to travel there. You can also simply go to Helgen on your own without anyone telling you to do so.
