raynark Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 So hay there guys this is my first time actually posting things and not lurking around. I'm just wondering which enb would be good for my gaming rig The specs are 8gbs of corsair ram Gtx 560ti i-5 core cpu I know how to install enb so that's not problem I just need to know the best to choose for my computer
Ark of Truth Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Pretty much any of them. I recommend RealVision or Sharpshooter.
raynark Posted January 10, 2014 Author Posted January 10, 2014 What would my frame rate be at for those two
Ark of Truth Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Considering Skyrim has a framerate cap anyway, your looking at 50-70fps depending on the mods you have installed. ENBs themselves hardly affect FPS, graphical mods on the other hand do.
raynark Posted January 10, 2014 Author Posted January 10, 2014 okay thanks for the info I don't have any graphical mods so I should be good

ENBs themselves hardly affect FPS, graphical mods on the other hand do. I don't think that's right Ark. I've used an ENB with plain old vanilla textures and dropped 20fps straight off the bat. Some ENBs are easier on performance than others, but most will take a good chunk of fps off you. The OP has a somewhat better cpu than I do, but i have a 650gti 2gb (slightly clocked) and the same system ram as them, and I've never had 50-70fps in an exterior cell with any enb, even with dof and ssao disabled. You must have a super dooper trooper Cray computer edit: I do run at native 1920x1080 though. If I downscale I gain 3 or 4 fps, but with everything looking like it's smeared in vaseline.
dje34 Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 I agree with b3ast1e, I have pretty much the same stuff the OP has and ENBs make my fans work much more! And actually it is normal, the colors are much stronger, the light is much better (and so are the shadows) and it is using many more parameters than the vanilla game ! I would recommend Sharpshooter performance friendly version, not as cool as the normal version and not perfect but not a pain in the ass either. Try the Sharpshooter normal version first though, it could work if you don't have too many mods but if you use a lot of mods (as I am right now for testing) I recommend Sharpshooter lite. And try CoT too ! I don't use it myself because last time I installed it I dunno why but I had a lot of clipping issues with environment like legs and feet going through rocks and snow but most people don't complain when using it and it's really a great skyrim weather system overhaul ! You can find everything on nexus and there are a lot of addons/patches/fixes for CoT as the sun could be too bright or caves being too dark so test it ! EDIT - Also, I guess you have a x64 cpu, you could test this ! Dunno if it is working because I didn't test it myself but it could improve performance !

Have you tried 1366x768? When I run that instead of my native 1920x1080 I gain like 15-20fps, and it it doesn't have that blurry font and visuals(though still not as good as 1080p). My computer isn't that good, though, and I sacrifice visuals for playability even in screenshots. To the OP, you can run any ENB you want to, but you have to just monitor what effects eat up the most fps. SSAO, Reflection, DoF, Detailed Shadows, all eat up a lot of frames. I only run with Detailed Shadows out of these, and turn on DoF only if I spot a really cool composed frame to screenshot.

Yeah vol, that was the res I dropped to, I tried it with both scaling and non-scaling in wondowed and in full screen, and just couldn't tolerate the (albeit slight) fuzz - I guess I'm just a fu(z)ssy bitch Having said that, had I seen a 15 or 20 fps increase like you have, I might have persisted, but I didn't, just 4 or 5 in the places I tend to get most performance hits like forests around Falkreath. Totally agree though, SSAO, and DoF are just screenshot tools for me, never play with them generally. I do like detailed shadows though, and I've stepped down shadow detail in my skyrim prefs just so I can run it with little or no impact. DoF espesh is majorly annoying when you're on a horse, can't see shit in front of you lol.
pyrosushi Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Yes. Every enb impacted my game except Realvision ENB and I Can't Believe Its Not an ENB! The second one had no fps hit for me. None.
Deedlit Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 that depends: 1) you wanna with focus at chars (for better char pics) or 2) or wanna to ambient / areas around.
...0... Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Install also grass on steroids and change ini to this line iMinGrassSize=120(100 or 80 see what fps do) under the grass section skyrim.ini it will increase your fps enormous. Remember your system is not same as others so any number can be different from what they are saying.
