Bluegunk Posted May 7, 2025 Posted May 7, 2025 I got past Riverwood - that was good? OK, I'm considering re-doing my Skyrim. Would a kind soul be interested in what's canon these days with the adult mods? I've used Sexlab and SOS for what feels like post Oblivion days. Currently I've a mashup of Sexlab, Ostim and Flower Girls. The drawback is some Sexlab mods are a core in the game, like Sexlab Eager NPCs.. Should I continue with the mashup? Or is there a better way to do things these days? Thanks for any thoughts.
PippinTom Posted May 7, 2025 Posted May 7, 2025 Isn't "mod my game to my own preferences" essential to the whole idea of modding? When you delegate the choice to other people it's like you are back in square one - buying box with the game or (what even worse) a wabbajack of a kind ; ) 1
anjenthedog Posted May 7, 2025 Posted May 7, 2025 (edited) I don't use it, but Ostim (and all the related peripheral/adjunct mods) seems pretty popular, although it requires using Nemesis either as a replacement or in tandem wit FNIS. (or Pandora as a replacement for both instead I guess) PS> you got to Riverwood. Congrats DragonBorn... You've made it to the big league now! Oh, and UBE is all the rage for body type (very large polygon counts), as well as some new massive-number-of-NiNodes version of 3BBB ("SomBody") that's rearing its head, and speaking of heads, at least one model that is now imbued with hdt/smp properties Edited May 7, 2025 by anjenthedog 1
Bluegunk Posted May 7, 2025 Author Posted May 7, 2025 Thank you Anjen. I've been watching UBE and at the moment I'm using it alongside 3BA to accommodate a couple of UBE followers. I think it will take over, in time. I've had no problems running the two in tandem, working carefully with Bodyslide outputs. I'm in two minds about Ostim. Its animations are better but there's such a lot of content still for Sexlab. I'm wondering if people are moving away from Sexlab? 1
anjenthedog Posted May 7, 2025 Posted May 7, 2025 (edited) idk I think it's a two-school system, or maybe three school... Some use SL exclusively, some Ostim, some have it all installed. Ostim and SL, either running FNIS in tandem with Nemesis (too messy for me) or they use Pandora (which has mixed reviews so I'm still in the kinda-leery camp) thing that's holding me back from UBE is clothing/armor, since I use over a dozen individual pieces from as many mods to create my outfit But I agree, UBE (or a variant thereof) is the future Edited May 7, 2025 by anjenthedog 1

If it ain't broken, don't fix it. 29 minutes ago, anjenthedog said: ...Ostim... Some things to perhaps keep in mind with this one: Based on crash logs, there's still some conflicts between the various O-body mods; specifically their dlls. They're perhaps not as unified as it might seem, or people just fail at reading mod descriptions. Perhaps its a similar situation to CS, where you just have to *know* which version works with what as its not listed anywhere. Some years back there was some drama between these, and I'm not sure it was ever resolved. 31 minutes ago, anjenthedog said: ...UBE... This is perhaps not specific to UBE as it could just as well apply to all body mods: How's the support? I'm mostly seeing BHUNP and various versions of 3BA. How many versions are there? One major mistake I feel like every custom body release as made since at least Fallout 3 is that they keep adding features after the initial release. Great! You might think, but unfortunately what this has always caused is a myriad of armors getting released all under one label that are in practice different in their featuresets. I mean how long as 3BAv2 been out, and the vast majority of "3BA" outfits released today are still not 3BAv2; even the ones claiming to be "3BAv2" are usually not 3BAv2. Is the skin UV inheriting from some previous project, or is it entirely new? Maybe the body is good, and has some interesting armors, but if there's only 1 skin option... well... hope you like it. 1

Its requirement for, and Nemesis's installation & deployment complexity... when paired with FNIS and all the FNIS dependent mods I have installed that I have no present plans to gut and replace, just turns me off to it, Pandora's a possibility, but I have a sneaking Skyrim feeling that's another hidden quagmire before I would get it working correctly. Having said that. OStim has some appeal, since IT is *ostensibly "the next gen". (even if it or related mods/resources has/have bugs or glitches at present), As far as I know (I I don't use it either yet) - or at least what I can glean from posts I've read in passing - support for UBE is currently on par with BHUNP circa ~2020. low number of clothing/armor options, otherwise bounces and wiggles just like - or similarly to - the other body types. I'm also unsure of its Racemenu status (does it get its own tab?). Although its many showcase snapshots speak for themselves in terms of quality/detail There are a few skin options so far, I might have seen 4 or 5 options in passing on Nexus New-Mods over the past few/several months. idk how many UBE versions, as I don't follow it closely. There's also a Bodyslide preset and accompanying base model for a mashed UBE BHUNP CBBE-3BA body, fwiw. That I did try. had some interesting Sliders options, including ones that modded several nodes peer slider.... kinda cool Edited May 7, 2025 by anjenthedog 2
Bluegunk Posted May 7, 2025 Author Posted May 7, 2025 Thank you to both of you! 🍻 Some really useful comments here. I feel UBE has some distance to go, yet, before it reaches the 3BA levels. But it does appear to be gaining traction.. Since I can run it in parallel for a couple of followers, it's no bother to run it in a game. But I'll stick with 3BA as my main one. OK, well I think I will continue doing what I've done before, which is run the three side by side. As @PippinTom said earlier, I'm modding it for my purposes and your points are all very helpful. Cheers! 1
