slipestream Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 My SG hair pack doesnt work. My character becomes bald when i choose a SG hair type. I tried installing it manually and with NMM nothing works. I used BOSS for load order. The author for this mod closed her thread so thats why im asking for help here.
Koko.Hekmatyar Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 We need more info like are you trying to use it on a vanilla race or a custom race?
hryh23k9823u Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Also, have you checked all the .esp files, I remember at least 6
Koko.Hekmatyar Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 depends on which version he has. The 120 has 6 esps, 220 has an esm & 6 esps, and the 268 only has one esm & esp.
hryh23k9823u Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 I really downloaded the lastest version before the mod went down, and I have 6 esp (one in my case cause I merge) The one called 'AllinOne' I remember was only for elves, as compatibility with ethereal elven ovehaul, I think.
Koko.Hekmatyar Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 I thought 220 only had 1 ESP? The one I released had one since I merged the 6 I really downloaded the lastest version before the mod went down, and I have 6 esp (one in my case cause I merge) Odd the one I got only had the one esp.

They were merging it soon before the thing went down (I guess)
gvman3670 Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 I've used the 220 pack on a few play throughs without any sort of issue. And if I can do it then anybody can. Without looking right now I remember it having an .esm and 5 or 6 .esp files. EDIT: I looked and it's one .esm and 6 .esp files.
winny257 Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 SG 120 has 6 ESP FilesSG 220, having a 1 "SG Hair 220 AllinTwo.esp" and 1 "SGHairPackBase.esm"SG 268, having a 1 "SGHairPackAIO.esp" and 1 "SGHairPackBase.esm"
superpickle Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Hi I am having the same issue. I downloaded the 268 and it seems to have everything in the mesh and data folder. I put the esm and the esp file in the data folder and activated them in the nmm... when I start up a new game it acts like the hairs are there in the slider but I only getting bald heads... I have only been modding for a month and teaching myself as I go and so far have been able to figure things out.. mostly haha.. anyways I have no idea what to do at this point.. I have ran BOSS as well.. does anyone have any advice?? I really would like to use this pack but am at a loss currently as to what to do.. Like I said it seems everything was in the download so I assume im doing something wrong.. just not sure what..

Like I said it seems everything was in the download so I assume im doing something wrong.. just not sure what.. What character creation tool are you using, ECE or RaceMenu? I don't know if it will work with the vanilla character generating tool. Either way, you need to go to Nexus and get "pre-cache killer" or you'll have a helluva time trying to use 300 or more hairstyles (it'll often crash the game for that matter). You can find it with a search easy enough.
superpickle Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 I was using Racemenu and tried it only with that. Then I downloaded ECE but I left racemenu installed as well. I wasn't sure if I would have as many options without racemenu.. I was more familiar with racemenu... So are you saying I should try only with ECE? I have the pre cache killer already as well.
superpickle Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 So I tried it with only ECE and still getting the bald head.... I downloaded mort hairset as well and getting blad head with that.. I have extracted all the info to the data folder and dragged the esp to the skyrim folder.. No idea what it is that im doing wrong.. hope somebody might have a suggestion..
gvman3670 Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 The .esp also goes in the data folder. If you put it in the Skryim folder (where TESV.exe is located) then that would explain it. Copy it, delete it from the Skyrim folder then paste it into the data folder.

Both the esp and ESM need to be in your data folder. Make sure that's the case and give it a try?
superpickle Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 I extracted it from the download into the data folder. Then went into the folder and dragged the esm and the esp out of the sg hairstyle folder and placed it in the data folder separate from the sg hairstyle folder.. Sorry since im new at this and have been teaching myself how to do a lot of this im terrible at explaining what im doing haha. I hope that makes sense. I have activated both of them in the NMM plug ins but still get bald head. Inside of the sg folder is a data and a ss folder. Inside the data folder is a meshes and texture folder. I just left that stuff alone.
Guest Demiales Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 I extracted it from the download into the data folder. gvman3670 Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 If you simply unzip the SG Hairs folder into new one, then all you have to do is highlight it all in the folder, right click, choose copy, then go over to your opened Skyrim/data folder and right click then paste. Afterwards just make sure you check the .esm and .esp file(s) in NMM or the Skyrim launcher (in data files).
Vancien Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 SG 120 has 6 ESP Files SG 220, having a 1 "SG Hair 220 AllinTwo.esp" and 1 "SGHairPackBase.esm" SG 268, having a 1 "SGHairPackAIO.esp" and 1 "SGHairPackBase.esm" I have 268 and I confirmed the above. I am using a custom race, Lunari and run Race Menu+Race Compatibility. All of the 268 Hairs, plus Apachi Hairs and Vanilla hairs run fine. I installed the 7z file using NMM as a manually added file. Try re-installing the files with NMM and avoid manually installing them.
superpickle Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 I did put everything in the skyrim data folder. I just left the meshes and data folder that were in the sg folder in its own folder.. (do I have to take everything out of the folder that is already in the data folder and place it separately in the skyrim data folder?) but I put the sg folder in the skyrim data folder. I only dragged the esm and esp out of that folder to put in the skyrim data folder seperatly so I could activate them in nmm. Im not sure how to install the files in NMM if its not taken from the nexus. I clicked on add mod from file in the nmm and tried clicking on the sg folder but it didn't do anything.. im not sure how to add them to the nmm without nexus.. can someone break that down for me? Maybe that will help.. sorry total noob here and I appreciate the attempt at helping me so far...
gvman3670 Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Like I said above.... Open two windows, one with the unzipped SG Hairs folder opened in it and one with your Skyrim/data folder opened in it. In the SG folder window left click and highlight everything in there, the .esm, the .esp(s), the meshes folder and the textures folder. Everything. Then right click on them and [COPY]. Now go over to the opened Skyrim/data folder and simply right click and [PASTE], allowing merges and overwrites when it asks. That's it. You're done. Takes less than 60 seconds. And this is how you manually install 99.9% of the mods out there, too. I don't know how to use text to explain this any more simply than this. You would be best served watching some tutorial vids, like this series from Gopher. Please take the time to watch them. You'll need to know these things if you want to mod this game.
superpickle Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Dude... You are amazing.. That video was what I needed. Added it to nmm the way he shows and works perfect now. Thank You everyone that chimed in and especially BENhammer.. you the man! and that dude on the youtube vide is awesome to

Thank You everyone that chimed in and especially BENhammer.. you the man! and that dude on the youtube vide is awesome to I agree, Gopher's tutorial vids are freakin' excellent for helping new folks. His style is slow enough to be easy to follow and understand, and he takes a nice approach from beginning to end. There's also a stickied/pinned post here from our member Ragna_Rok that explains simple manual installations, so I'd suggest taking a look at it and learning it. Maybe even give the orc a like for his trouble.
