The problem with the torn texture of clothing

Recommended Posts

The textures of some types of clothing tear in this way, and when I move the camera away from the character, these "holes" get bigger. What could be the reason for this? And how can this be resolved? Thank you in advance!

Weightpainting. Your options:

  1. Redo the weight painting using Outfit Studio. Usually works if the skin is made for a different body than the armor and the armor is not occupying slot 32.
  2. Create a zap for the skin polygons in Outfit Studio and zap them away.
  3. Since your sliders are extreme, adjust the slider morphs by hand in Outfit Studio. Make sure there's enough clearance between the skin and armor polygons.

lol (see above)

It usually means you either haven't fitted the clothing/armor in Bodyslide, or possibly, if you've added custom slider mods, and/or used one of the custom body models (ex: ube+3BA, etc), the custom sliders they provide aren't reflected in the armor/clothing model's slide set, so their adjustments don't register "properly" (if at all) on the clothing/armor, which results in an ill fit (clipping).

I use the UBE/3BA model for my female's body and she cannot fit "hose/stockings/nylons/pants" worth a shit. As a result I have one pair of pants I custom Bodyslided so they'd fit over everything (has its own preset just for the pants) just so it doesn't look quite so dumb for her to be wearing a skirt in snowy conditions. Doesn't work with "nylons" though, as they have to be close fitting. The pants are set to be "snow pants, so she actually looks a bit chubby legged when wearing them

Having said that, lol or not, afaik, there are some older clothing/armor models that have distinct and narrow limits to how much they'll
"stretch" before they go wonky
