Gray User Posted March 22, 2025 Posted March 22, 2025 I am having problem. I can not get Blender export of mesh to work as shit. All wearable for Surrender/Seduce on hold because of this. I try to follow instructions in https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/7159?tab=description, I have Blender 3.6 which supposed to work with this tools and latest Nifskope which supposed to work. All of export mesh file either not visible in Nikskope or in CK, or visible but out of boundaries and setting better origin make them fail. Probably there is option somewhere I am supposed to click or something stupid like that, but because I do not know what stupid problem it is I cannot fix it. If I send finished blender file with bone weight and morphs, would other modder be willing to do export of mesh and copy/paste into a working nif (or some other way) to make working game nif? Or, do anyone know of better set of directions for this? I am tired of wasting time on directions that do not work for me. 😔 Many thank yous.
DocClox Posted June 18, 2025 Posted June 18, 2025 (edited) I banged my head against this same wall about a year ago. Sadly I've not really touched it since, so I'm not really sure what to suggest. One thing would be to hang out on SesamePaste's discord and maybe ask for help there. I know I picked a few brains trying to work all this out. [edit] Whoops! Necroing a three month old post. I read it as having been posted last week originally. Edited June 18, 2025 by DocClox
sen4mi Posted June 18, 2025 Posted June 18, 2025 I think tech threads should be considered necroable (I mean, if the update is some sort of positive contribution): (a) because of how important they are to the modding community, and (b) because they often go for so long without enough activity.
DocClox Posted June 25, 2025 Posted June 25, 2025 You are right, of course. It's just a bit embarrassing to realize that you've responded to a problem that the original poster has probably either solved or long since given up on. For anyone struggling with the same problem, I think what worked for me in the end was importing and exporting at the nif level. That wasn't possible when theenco wrote that tutorial, if I remember right. 1
Gray User Posted July 24, 2025 Author Posted July 24, 2025 Please necro this thread 🙂 I will try change by using nif for import/export and see if that can work. I put all wearable project on hold because I could not make this work for me.
DocClox Posted July 24, 2025 Posted July 24, 2025 Hmm. OK. Other things to check - try jumping or boosting down from a high place. I found one of my outfits was rendering, but for some reason was positioned under the actor's feet. On which note, make sure all your meshes in blender have all transformations applied and the mesh origin set to the global origin before export. I have Starfield installed at the moment, so I might take a look at the problem again. NSS could use an update, certainly. 1
