Well, it's funny how society doesn't see anything wrong when an "underage" character from the Middle Ages slits the throats of several people, but screams in rage when the same character shows a bare skin without any lewd context (the game doesn't even have pose options in photo mode).

Sorry for the off-topic. I don't judge anyone in particular in this thread. I just think that nudity is more natural than violence, and at the same time the attitude towards it in society is somehow much harsher...

Violence and sexually exploiting children are both some of the worst crimes that can be committed. That said, when it comes to video games it's all fictional, and nudity isn't always sexual. I'm not in favor of policing fictional content but I do at least understand why people want to ban depictions of underage characters when it comes to the platforms they control. Although a 17 & 1/2 year old character with DD's and thunder thighs doesn't quite deserve the same amount of outrage as a depiction of an 11 year old pre-pubescent character, zero tolerance policies are just the safest way to handle it. Nudity and gore can both be either natural or unnatural depending on what kind of life you live. If you're a doctor or a paramedic you've probably seen your fair share of both. As long as it's within a fictional medium and you're an adult with their own money you should be able to enjoy whichever you'd like.

Hey!

I know this is mainly an adult modding space, so I hope it’s okay to ask this here:

Is there any chance someone could make a simple mod that keeps Naoe barefoot all the time, regardless of outfit?

Would love to see her always without shoes – looks and feels just right for her.

I'm not a modder, but it sounds too complicated since there's no transmog for shoes in the game. There's a better chance if you'll choose your most preferred outfit.

To remove the shoes off every outfit would be a very difficult and long challenge, shoes, pants and body all have separated meshes and some even have a separate mesh for each color version of the outfit currently the shoes coming off indoors is controlled by a script and as far as I'm aware AC games have never had custom script mods so you would have to edit the individual mesh of each shoe one by one ether replacing them with an invisible mesh like I did to remove the underwear or by editing the mesh and making it empty, there's over 30 shoes in the files right now with more being added as DLC and without file names editing every shoe will take a good 2-3 weeks, there's a chance a mod like this will come but personally I don't see it happening, for now I'm working on removing the underwear and boots from the Sakura DLC outfit

I know modding outfits can be a lot of work, so no pressure at all –

but I wanted to ask if anyone might be willing to create a barefoot version of the Apprentice Assassin Outfit (the white and red robe for Naoe).

 

I really love the design, and I think a barefoot variant would match the outfit’s elegance and Naoe’s style perfectly.

 

If someone is open to it, even for a small donation or tip, I’d be more than happy to support it.

Heads up: 1.0.4 effectively killed modding by using DataPC_boot_patch_xx.forge. All mods must be patched into DataPC_boot_patch_01.forge now. If you have any mods using that xx.forge method remove them or the game won't load.

Thanks for the warning, Steam hadn't updated it yet and I found that by switching off WiFi,  launching Ubi Connect and Steam in offline mode and then the game  from Ubi Connect it launched with mods intact offline. Hope this helps other folk out there.

Are you saying that mods are not compatible with the latest version? Um... I haven't purchased this game yet, I'm waiting for the discount day

You can only install one mod at a time, and only mods that have been converted to use the right file for the new version. The nude mod has not been converted afaik, as any mod needs inserting into a 4gb file now.

Hypothetically, one would need to make a way to 'patch' mods into this file easily, right? Like, a script or somesuch that cracks it open, inserts/overwrites with the mod you want to add, then packages it back up. (Likely with a simple GUI and a little text list of currently added/active mods)

 

I don't suppose anyone here has a guide on how to modify this file handy, do they? I might see if I can take a look... I'm handy with automation and scripting, but haven't a clue on modding AAA games like this.

 

If it can be done with sheer file manipulation, I might stand a chance to make a patcher/mod manager, but that's probably quite optimistic.

 

I'll take a gander guide or no guide, but I've got 0 free time as it is, so of course no promises, hah...

Hmm... They seem to both claim it can still extract the file and that the most recent update broke modding in general, which is a fairly conflicting statement, since if you can crack open and edit the files, then you can theoretically mod it...

 

If it can extract the new files post-update, then that opens things up a lot. I'll try and take a look, thanks!

The problem with this game is that the cut scene model is to young. thats the controversy here

Apparently this is not going to be an option.  People are modding the character, removing scars, adding make-up, but no one is willing to add the nude option; or those who are, I guess lack the skill of those who can.  A shame really.
