gvman3670 Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Has anyone here played with these yet? It seems Skywind is a very late state alpha at this point and Skyblivion is going to take quite some time yet. I am currently installing another copy of Skyrim into a different directory just so I can play around with Skywind (and trying to keep it from messing with my perfectly functioning Skyrim game in progress ). If anyone has played with this and could make it easier/better in any way please feel free to let me know. And if I can learn anything useful to pass on along the way I'll do the same.
BoozeJunky Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Wish I could help, but I've been kind of avoiding Skywind until it gets into a later stage of development. That, and there's a lot of really great mods for the original which simply won't make it over - like Sotha Sil Expanded and Tamriel Rebuilt. With MGSO 3.0... well I won't say the game looks as good as Skyrim... but it still looks damned good. The biggest drawback, though, is not having access to Skyrim mods - notably SexLab of which there is no equivalent. Lovers and Legends seems to be the closest, and it doesn't work with MGSO. Anyhow, at this point, with the landmasses mostly complete - what I'm really hoping for is that they allow modders to work with their assets to create a post-Red Year Vvardenfell expansion to Skyrim to explore with our Dovahkiins. Comparison Shots: MGSO 3.0 (I took myself) Skywind (poached from Nexus Screenshots) Some more screens (for those not already familiar with MGSO) NSFW The difference between Skyrim and Morrowind.... Man, that would have been awesome to have a strap on in Morrowind so I could fuck Nelacar in the ass with both my Nerevarine and Futakiin. Make him the hapless slut of the ES series. This is about the closest I could get to actual sex in Morrowind. First person view only, camera bobs, and audio. Bleh. I didn't really want a lot of sex in my game to begin with, but trading sexual favors to Crassius for advancement and choice picks of jobs seems like a very House Hlaalu thing to do - and would have made that particular scenario much more interesting.
...0... Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 If they keep skywind as close to orginal as posible i maybe intrested with skyrim graphics.

All you really need to do is keep a copy of your Data folder that way if you don't like Skywind you just delete the folder and copy back over your backup copy. Seen videos of Skywind. Looks good but very early game. All enemies have no armor or even clothes so any combat will kill them quickly. Wondering how they'll do all the stuff thats been removed by Oblivion and Skyrim. You can't make spells, no levitation, none of the Divine or Almsivi intervention spells/scrolls, they removed unarmored, hand-to-hand and consolidated all weapon skills to 1h and 2h only. I'd love it if somehow you could use the Morrowind mods for Skywind lol. Been kinda thining, once Skywind is farther along how are people gonna be able to do the Bloodmoon main quest when you reach the point where you have to choose whether to be a werewolf or not. Will Skyrim's werewolf form from the Companions interfere with Bloodmoon's?
gvman3670 Posted January 1, 2014 Author Posted January 1, 2014 Since Skywind requires both Bloodmoon and Tribunal I've been wondering what form Solstheim will be taking. Hmmmm..... Heck, there's 3 centuries between the two stories. Saw a mod for a Dragonborn-like fast travel marker, too, as well as the choice to start in Skyrim or Morrowind.
gvman3670 Posted January 1, 2014 Author Posted January 1, 2014 It's gonna' be a while before I can play with this yet. I already have a second Skyrim installed (and a couple things I need, like my 360 controller emulator app, etc.), I have re-installed Morrowing GOTY (with mods gone), have the .exe for the conversion tool and am still downloading the Morrowind assets pack (3.4gb) from a rather slow direct download site (only 35% DL'ed so far). I probably won't get to mess with it until tomorrow if everything works out for me.
Guest Ragna_Rok Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 well, i find the idea simply awesome. like with every mod, especially lands, theres a crapload of bugs to be expected. BUT ... the team they have kicks ass. actually i spent the main time of a months sparetime to do my (very little) share to help those folks out. sad i had to leave the project, but hey, the organization of the teamwork is... far more then amazing. theres one thing i can say for sure, this one will kick so much ass that no ass will stay unkicked cant wait to take my Ragna-Rok on a travel back to morrowind / cyrodil go guys, go! best of luck!! PS: siltstriders rule
ElectricSheep Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 There are some quite awesome artists working on Skywind so I'm really looking forward to the mod, especially that TES III is my favourite installment in the series (actually the only one that I REALLY like), though such big projects very rarely ever come out of alpha/beta stages.

I like your sig line. I'm tired of people thinking their opinions (especially the baseless assertion types of opinions) are on equal footing with demonstrable facts.

ElectricSheep Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 I don't get how my opinion could be taken as a threat in the first place, is it because I said many big community projects never get finished? How is that not true? I waited for Dark Forces mod for JK2, graphics overhaul for Deus Ex, many NWN projects that never got to see daylight, even OpenMW is yet to release a 1.0 after all those years - same goes for Morroblivion.
junkacc Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Morroblivion is complete. They're doing bugfixes as they come up. I think most of the expansions are also complete but those haven't been thoroughly tested. I have my doubts about Skywind though. So many engine bugs and unexplained crashes when people try to mod it. At least Morroblivion is getting voice acting due to Skywind
ElectricSheep Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 To me "complete" means 1.0 or higher, afaik the last Morroblivion installment is 0.61.
winny257 Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 watch these videos on you once, I love them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?list=PLQBvJS8wtVKustAozMbodm80phBYhWObS&v=1PVnZVegeOc&feature=player_detailpage http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYrH_cb8zeY&list=PLQBvJS8wtVKustAozMbodm80phBYhWObS&feature=player_detailpage http://www.youtube.com/watch?list=PLQBvJS8wtVKustAozMbodm80phBYhWObS&v=0V1JJTg06tw&feature=player_detailpage edit: Morrowind to play so that would be a dream.
Guest Ragna_Rok Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 hey electricsheep, youd love my mods for sure. i love giving them weird numbers... like 1.tasty, 1.thirsty, what about awesome.666 --> is this less than 1? my main flagship back on nexus went like 1, 2, 3, (and then the number of weapons i made started to get out of control) 4, 4.5, 5, 5.25, 5.5, 5.75, 6, 6.1, 6.2, 6.3 (and then i went back just for fun) 6.125, 6.25, 6.375, 6.5, 6.61, 6.62... and now i am at 10.666. im also sure i forgot like a dozen versions in this list. basically my opinion is: version numbers are worth jack shit. true, most professional developers go after the good ol scheme that everything under 1 is a test. i for myself am a hobby-nerd, and as such i allow myself to say "fuck you, version number" ... and name the stuff as i like i dont care about the label / brand, the quality of the product is important for me. ... put in shot: fuck you, version number! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (this post is based on facts, is well grounded and correctly inferred, its also logical. Its even written cursive to make me look smart and give importance to this crap here, that i write small on full purpose to further make me look even smarter because people will think i wear glasses, which is a logical conclusion based on the fact that no one without can read this shit. checkmate! *yoink* )
Duoleb The Chosen Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 ragna since you helped them, you know if they ported the Female Seducer and Saint Armors?
Guest Ragna_Rok Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 jeeeeez, months ago, moooooonths ago. my status is completely out-of-date. there used to be lists of what was ported and tons of discussion boards (also to discuss the stuff that wasnt part of the games back then, just think about cooking for example) ... did you take a look at the site already? ...waaaait a second. you just wanna have another boob-armor, right?

Just because you or somebody else don't care to properly number their mods doesn't change the general rule, which is: version numbers indicate the current state of completion of a mod. Sure, they may not be precise, but when an author says like "this is v0.5 beta", then it's rather easy to deduce that he/she considers the mod to be halfway done.

jxm Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Cool. I much prefer calm titties. Don't we all? I agree, but I suppose there are many more out there preferring titties to wiggle and jiggle around ... Anyway, Morrowind was one of my first great loves in gaming. Didn't expect much back then, and then...I got lost in this world. Sometimes I spent only some time reading in-game-books, learning more and more about the fascinating history and culture of the Dunmer. It was great. Compared to that Oblivion was a huge dissapointment. But if Skywind, if it ever gets fully finished of course, can restore that sweet feeling of nostalgia I am unsure. I hope so of course...but I am not really excited somehow, more just curious if they finish it at all and how well done it will be...then sure I'll check it out
