How to remove pickaxe from married non-follower

So I married Sylgia and she still carries that pickaxe. I can change her clothes with a mod, but not remove the pickaxe. Any suggestions?

It's probably better to remove it via console commands, otherwise you're dipping into editing the NPCs base outfit/equipment stuff and that seems a little overcomplicated for what you want.

Not sure it wouldnt come back but...

 

Open console and click on her, type showinventory, see what the item is and them removeitem <item hex code> 1

 

Alternatively using a mod like manipulator to open her inventory and maybe strip outfit and give back what you want her to wear might work better
