For instance, if you reject your spouse multiple times in a row, they get frustrated and find someone else while you're away (with fun consequences if you happen to walk in on them). On the flip side, they can walk in on you while you're with someone else. The cheating mechanic is part of SL Aroused, I think.

Doesn't seem right that you'd be forced to have sex who knows how many times just to unlock it. As a rule of thumb, locking out sex preferences in any kind of level up system is inherently flawed since the major draw to any kind of sex is having your preferences. As a compromise I think you could do away with the affection system and use something where they'd level up a specific type of act, like Oral, Vaginal, Anal, and based on their level in those they'd request them more frequently and also their responses could change to more agreeable ones the higher their level in it gets. Like they could start out with something like "I dunno... just this once" or whatever, then progressively get more agreeable responses. You can do that with the vanilla voiced dialog too. Also, it'd be nice if there were some kind of MCM switch as to whether they'd ask for sex and how often. And... I don't know if any animations are made for it, but honestly... an option just to cuddle would be nice, especially like a mod where you'd cuddle with your spouse in bed when you sleep in the same cell then it'd be kinda like See You Sleep after you wake up where you'd have to move for it to actually get up out of bed so you could watch the cuddling for awhile if you wanted. Hell, I'd love a mod that just did that, even if it did nothing else at all.

Then Sunday evening hit, I was sad and.. *Drumroll* I noticed that my Monday is completely free! So there's still hope for this "weekend"! Might actually finally start working on that mod project I've been dreaming of - for the past few years - tomorrow (technically today). Either way, it's half past four in the morning. TheDudeGuy Posted January 13, 2014 Author Posted January 13, 2014 Right, so, update. Got the outfit system very polished. Outfits are now selectable. Outfits are managed very well. This was a challenge since in some respects I'm "fighting" / working around SexLab 's default behavior when it comes to who is wearing what, when. Hearthfire compatibility added. SE knows about Hearthfire beds, and will prefer to use the upstairs master bedroom. If that hasn't been built yet, it will try to use the bed near the entrance of the house (the first one you get). Finally, it will try to use the Bedrooms wing master bed if available. This one is considered last because that room also has children beds. Added a spell to allow you to select the master bed manually. This will override what SE will try to use automatically based on where your spouse currently lives. Typing this on my phone so I'll go ahead and post this before I continue.

And before I continue, I will say that the affection system will be controllable by you via the MCM. I will not be doing away with the affection system, since very large reason I built the mod in the first place was to build something that has a sense of progress and growth. The only way to give progression is to give you a little of what you want now, and the rest of what you want later (from a game point of view). Also, a focus of the mod is to give the sense that your spouse is an actual person that has their own motivations, desires, and needs. When you ask, "what if I only want to do XYZ?", well, that's generally not how romance works. It's a two way street. You can do new things when you're both ready. But, again, MCM. You'll be able to short-circuit all of the above but removing this system would be essentially removing the reason for me making it. I would like a cuddling option but I can only use what is provided by SexLab, and it's not there. Thanks for your feedback.

I'm still experiencing some weirdness with some of the Entry Events. When I get those working the way I want, I can nail up the MCM and publish. And, thank you all for your feedback of all kinds, it's very motivating.

Skyrim really need it something like this to give the marriage system something to look forward to. Not just a vendor that seems to capable of coocking a meal that restores tiny hp and complains about wolves and bandits if you move to a heartfire home lol.

For example, I was tempted to argue that a sense of progression is much needed in a SL mod, and you managed to address another poster's concern by adding the "max out experience" option is very well done. Anyway, enough ass kissing. Silly question from me, when detecting married NPC, are you using vanilla spouse property checks, or are you going to add your own "this is my waifu" faction check as additional safeguard? I am worrying about a few "smart" followers that come with marriage events while bypassing the vanilla follower / marriage quests altogether. Not sure if you can give us the option to "force" a NPC to the spouse role. Thanks for reading.

Grimbold the unlovely Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 For what it is worth, I actually do like the idea of the affection system (another poster recently urged you to get rid of it). It is the very thing that lifts this mod above the usual prostitution/rape fare. Oral or anal intimacy becomes meaningful when it is a shared and consensual crossing of a significant boundary. I think you mentioned using a blushing mod to convey shyness . . . that would greatly add to the immersion. If some people want everything all the time, they can get that from umpteen other mods. This mod is special because it promises to make the crossing of boundaries and taboos a significant event in gameplay. There is a cuddling (hugging) animation out there. I think it comes with AFT (or possibly the beefcake/babe bathhouse) and is triggered in dialogue by the line "give me some sugar." It would beautifully complement this mod. Sexlab foreplay anims also have some romantic cuddling (you just have to discipline yourself not to push the space bar too soon).

Most of the foreplay options I've seen in SL are rather explicit, so maybe I missed something. In 1.0 I will only be checking the standard marriage quest system. Future versions will start to expand that out as necessary.

TheDudeGuy Posted January 14, 2014 Author Posted January 14, 2014 Ok, cuddling options are in It actually turned out really nice; there's a dialogue option one level above the option you'd normally use to get to the intercourse options that is essentially "kiss me." And you do, right there, and then it's over. It allows for a nice moment. There's also a laying down cuddle option on the same dialogue level. If your spouse is "amorous" (has approached you for sex), they will decline the cuddle options; they're in the mood for more than that. If you want to do that as a lead-in to sex, that's something you will need to specify in SexLab by ensuring that your foreplay options are turned on. They will agree to cuddling after sex however, since once you've done it, the amorous flag gets cleared. Thanks for the suggestions all, it turned out great. I managed to solve most of the strangeness of some of the entry events misbehaving last night and applied polish in general, making sure all the dialogue trees flow naturally. I think we're at a point where I can put together an MCM, which I'll try to do today.

The only suitable "cuddle" animation I found that's not overtly sexual in SexLab is essentially a make-out session. Which is fine, but it's not exactly suitable for insinuating post-copulation cuddle time.

It could be just that, your lover's comfort... cuddling and feeling them there and stuff. Sex can happen any time, it doesn't need to be when you sleep.
