Double body in first person with Joy of Perspective - 3BA Body SSE 1.57

I'm using Joy of Perspective and have had a long standing issue that I'm finally trying to nip in the bud. Whenever I enter first person I have a static body overlayed on top of the physics one from JoP and I can't seem to find what's causing it.

Most of the fixes I found in my searching were based on if you use Enhanced Camera which I don't. I do use Improved Camera and tried to disable the first person body in that mod's config, but it disabled the physics body that I want to be there, not the static overlay one.

The only other fixes I found were to remove the _1stperson folder's skeleton.nif file in the main game directory which didn't work, and the other was to delete the entire _1stperson folder for XPMSE which also didn't fix it.

Anyone else run into this or have any suggestions? Thanks!

Of course almost as soon as I post this I finally find the problem, it's Joy of Perspective itself. It looks like JoP makes the static overlay and Improved Camera is all I need for the good one. If anyone else has the issue just disable JoP. Now all I need to do is figure out if I can remove the effect from my ongoing save...

I found this solution in the Joy of Perspective bug section and it worked for me.
if you still need it

or for those who came after.

Here's how I successfully uninstalled. (Copied from another user)

  • Uninstall via Vortex

  • Follow the mod author's instructions and delete the Data\Meshes\Actors\Character\_1stperson folder.

  • Go to Data\meshes\actors\character\character assets and delete any files that begin with 1stperson.

  • Open Skyrim

  • Open Console

  • make sure no entity is selected and type sexchange then press ENTER.

  • Repeat step 6.

  • Profit. My floating sword, shield, and hands disappeared never to be seen again.
